PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Monster Monpiece is actually pretty damn good. Haven't got to any of the minigames yet so I can't comment on that, but the card battles are a lot of fun.

Had a dream where the latest collaboration was Freedom Wars X Virtual Tennis where you fought the dragon by playing a game of tennis attempting to return flaming tennis balls into the weak points.
It made perfect sense at the time.

Okay that High school DxD trailer.

How do the woman's boobs bounce without the shredded clothes moving?
Is the speed of breasts bouncing faster than clothes being torn to shreds by something or other? Because that's what it looks like to me. Fragments of clothes are frozen in time while boobs roam free for what seem to be hours.

I'd really like an explanation. This is obviously some sort of science that hasn't yet been understood by mortal men.

You guys should teach me how to run a game blog.

I have a blog, but it averages less than 500 clicks a month.

Then again if I seriously wanted to I could find a website to write for and get review copies, but I've down that road too many times. It's not worth it.

All this talk about memory cards had me thinking. It is a little weird that if Sony announced a 128 GB vita memory card for $150 tomorrow, I would buy it. Honestly, if it was $200 I would probably still buy it. Because convenience is worth a lot to me. I have almost no free time in med school, so when I do I really don't want to waste it downloading a game or deleting and transferring another from my PC. Who even knows if I'll be near internet/PC when the mood to play a game strikes. I know a lot of people play mostly at home, but I play my Vita when out of my house all the damn time, mostly when on call at the hospital waiting for something to happen. But that really is crazy, that's damn near the price of another Vita and I would pay it.

And at the same time there have been games on sale for $10 that I passed on because I was waiting for them to hit $5. Funny how that works.

You're late to the party. NSFW link (actually, the image url inside link is NSFW, but double layers protection is needed).

Anime boobs are moving faster than bullet. I'm happened to be an expert in this field.

Jesus Christ is that ctrl alt delete?

brb boiling eyeballs.

Oh right.
I forgot about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRTugqDo1WM (NSFW of course)

Okay nevermind. Yeah it's totally conceivable. Thanks science.

SCIENCE!

I started watching Fringe, and they were downloading particles into 'normal' computers. Everything can be explained now.

Oh, and you do not question boob physics. EVER.

Anybody know why Crimsonland and Entwined show up on the store that I can buy them after I already bought them? I even have a few trophies in Crimsonland and it says this.

They still show up in my library but its just weird to see.

I don't think it's that far fetched, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they localized an anime VN.
It's a lot of work for a very very niche audience. The only people likely to be interested in a spinoff VN for an anime would be people who are already fans of the anime. For non-VN genres non-fans of the anime could still potentially be interested in the game for the gameplay. Like people who had never watched SAO were still interested in the game for the praise its gameplay got, but if the SAO game were a VN instead only SAO fans would probably bother with it.

Even in Japan where there are probably the most fans, anime VNs are lucky to do 20-30k in sales. Can't imagine how small the western audience would be, especially if it was a Vita exclusive.

Western gamers get very few visual novels - I don't see how the visual novels being anime-based will even matter to them unless it heavily references show content they expect you to have seen. Most VNs are styled like anime anyways, so it's not like the Japanese style art is going to make them say "not for me" any more than the next VN would.

As long as the game is good, it'll sell just as well as any other visual novel does here - which is enough to justify the existence of a localization IMO

(speaking in general here btw, that DxD game is probably garbage like the anime - lol)

This is frustrating. Like, seriously? -_-
Fuck, you'd think they'd tweak those to be more forgiving.

Well, maybe they did and I don't know it, but it would figure they'd be sadistic enough to think it's OK to just leave them as they are, as if they didn't throw thousands if not millions into a murderous rage.

is Hotline Miami currently free for PS3, PS4 and PSVita, because I have it from PS+ for Vita and it's crossbuy now, or is it a seperate bug/feature/offer?

If you use CMA, you can live with 8gb. But I need to upgrade to 16 gb ASAP as I want to play those big pickupnplay games, like fighting and racing games.

This happens to me with Tearaway.

Bought it, downloaded it, it appeared in the download list, but for some reason PSN doesn't mark it as already being purchased when I browse the store.

Maybe the fact that I bought it during a discount has something to do with it.

My Tales of Xillia 2 copy finally arrived.

And god, that Rollo cat is really big. He could be a cameo character in the PS3 Gozilla game Bamco is developing seeing how big he is.

hmm ok, but why could I just buy it for 0,00€ ?

normally it either says "purchased" or "owned" in blue or if it is free with PS+, it's in yellow

I had to 'buy' the PS4 versions of Hotline Miami and OlliOlli for the price of free to add them to my library. This had the added side effect of bumping the PS3 and Vita versions to the top of my download list. I think it's just some technical limitation due to the PS4 versions being added later.

Behave - 2 isn't that good, and it's a harbinger of the shite mountain that is MGS 4.

Pushing your opinion about the game aside, why are you complain when it's cheaper? I had to try reading your post 3 times to be sure I didn't understand it wrongly.

This was something I've always wanted to asked VitaGAF, but never did because I thought it had a hint of doom and gloom. But now that Nintendo announced "New 3DS", I might as well do it.

Would you guys buy a Vita 2.0?

Better camera, higher performance microelectronics (CPU/GPU/Memory), better energy consumption, better OLED*. Perhaps, even better AR technology.
Yeah, I think AR is faaaaar far cooler than VR.

And can play PS2 games along with finally announcing an official grip to incorporate L2/R2 (L3/R3 can be touch screen).

*There was some news about PanaSony(Panasonic + Sony) giving up on OLEDs TV (I think), but came back a few months later to announce that they are now working on OLED ― except this time, small to medium size display only.

LET'S GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY: DON'T TALK ABOUT MEM CARD "ISSUES". It's been complained to death already.

It depends how meaningful is the upgrade, really. If is the same that the 3ds to New 3ds, lol no. But the PSP-Vita, I'm ok with it.

Guys. Are the PSP Games playable Online on Vita? And has Power Stone Collection Online play? I really want to play Power Stone again, but playing it on my own isnt that fun.

I've said before that I'd buy the shit out of a Vita revision that added secondary shoulder buttons. Adding the ability to play PS2 games would be insane. If they did that then Sony could charge whatever the hell they wanted and I would pay it.

What I would like to see (and this would probably be a colossal commercial failure, so I don't expect it) -

The Vita XL. Larger (7") screen; control parity with the DS4 (additional set of shoulder buttons, clicky sticks). Basically a hybrid of the current Vita, a Nexus 7, and a Dual Shock 4.

I am a bit tired/bitter of Sony's attitude towards Vita. So buying them a new piece of hardware after all they did (or they didn't)? Nope. Even as a consumer I have my pride. I like Vita, don't get me wrong, but this idea of new models so early it's not my thing. It reminds me a lot of mobile market, which I highly dislike, and Sony should put more effort on Vita before anything else.

With Nintendo's announcement I feel like companies do not want me to keep playing games as I have been doing all my life.

Other than the memory card issue I'm pretty happy with the Vita 2000 specs. I'd be interested in complementary hardware options though, like a PSP Go-like form factor, or a 7" tablet-like form factor.

Oh yeah, this too - basically the current Vita is the wrong size (for me). I don't think it's very portable, so making it even bigger would be OK; or making it smaller (and thus more portable) would also be OK.

Miku will probably be the last Vita game I buy in a while, and it should take me a couple of months to clear out the rest of my Vita backlog. The new 3DS will probably be released in North America shortly after I start running out of Vita games to play, which is perfect timing really.

I'm not sure. I love my Vita and a better model with additional shoulder buttons sounds nice. But on the other hand, I feel Sony got already enough money from me and I'm not very happy about how they treat the Vita in general so I would probably tend more towards no. Just a new revision is not good enough. Maybe if they finally fix the account restriction for all Vitas I would consider it.
If we are talking about a real successor than yes, I will buy it.

If they bother to release the new Vita revision, it means they actually still care enough about that thing, which mean I'll buy it even if it's $300.

I think it will sell like ten of them, though.

No. I am enjoying VITA as it is. Even if i am more PS4 focused nowadays.

Would you guys buy a Vita 2.0?

Absolutely, though ideally it should be a bigger step up from the Vita than the New 3DS is from the 3DS. I would like actual buttons for L2/R3, and would clickable analogs really be too much to ask? Not sure how much physical space that would require on the unit. I guess honestly if it were just a remote play unit that still played Vita games I'd still be tempted personally.

Yeah, I think AR is faaaaar far cooler than VR

As an aside I can't believe an actual human being that's actually used AR is saying this. Tearaway is about the only AR that hasn't massively disappointed me.

Edit: Top of page, if you have a sense of humor and have played a japanese game in your life Neptunia Re;Birth is great.
