It makes me think Bowser Jr and Duck Hunt have vets in their trailers that they weren't ready to reveal. Shulk was an easy reveal, his trailer was self contained.

I mean the new stages are great, it's just a shame there are so many from the same series. I'd rather just have one Mario stage and one Zelda stage if it meant others series got some representation.

Ice Climber came out after Duck Hunt and before Stack-Up in Japan and Stack-Up came out before Super Mario Bros. in Japan. Ice Climbers, if they are in the game, are likely sharing their Allstar Roster spot with R.O.B., the Duck Hunt Dog, and possibly Little Mac, given the Arcade game Punch-Out came out in 1984.
