Before I watch the trailer, can anyone tell me if it has aanymajor Xenoblade spoilera? I've barley played the game, (hawthornekitty...), but I want to finish it before Smash comes out.

Outside of Shulk getting the Monado a spoiler only for people who didn't look at the box art at all nothing in the trailer is a spoiler, teasing one of the villains as a boss character without any context of who he is or what he does in the game is not a spoiler at all

That's what I've been expecting for awhile
Thinking a character is a terrible choice (Duck Hunt is a terrible choice) is not the same as rubbing salt into people upset a character they like is disconfirmed which is what you're doing, the former is just me being salty a character I don't like is in, the other is you being a jerk to people upset.

I'm not rubbing any salts on anyone or trying to be jerk to anyone. At least, it's not my intention. Way to blow it out of proportion.

That being said I want Isaac to get confirmed or de-confirmed. Honestly, they should just get rid of his AT, IMO, so I can forget that he was just glossed over.

I felt that he was talking about RPG characters. That's my intuition. Honestly, I would imagine that Isaac would be unique character but at least, I hope he is still assist trophy which is overall better than being trophy or sticker.

I guess if I'm still around then I would support Takamaru and Isaac (along with all characters returning) for Smash 5 (6)

Don't ask me about Shulk since I haven't play his game yet. Right now, I'm going to pull the trigger on that after I'm done with typing up informations for OT.

Well, it's nice to see everyone so hyped on the other side of that Nintendo Direct!

That Shulk trailer is a prime example of the fact that leaks don't diminish the hype of an actual, official character reveal one bit. Shulk's trailer was just fantastic, and I say that as someone who's not a hardcore Xenoblade Chronicles fan.

Yeah, I would have rather seen the Chorus Kids and I really hate to have to keep worrying about their fate, but it was Shulk's time to have the spotlight and he's looking really fantastic in Smash! And with the media blitz of all the other commercials and stuff, there's almost too much to analyze and dissect!

But now I'm even more excited than ever to see what Nintendo has in store for us behind closed doors at the Smash 3DS media event at PAX later today. Even though the New 3DS and New 3DS XL haven't been formally announced anywhere outside Japan, I wonder if we'll get to play on the new hardware at this event? That would be amazing.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this has already been addressed, but I keep seeing people make this unfortunate mistake so I'll address it again: the dude at the end of the Shulk trailer ISN'T RIDLEY, people. It's Metal-Face, a Xenoblade Chronicles villain. I swear, you Ridley fans are doing it to yourselves at this point...

At any rate, I'm thinking we'll probably get to try out Shulk and the other newcomers who weren't playable at E3 and SDCC at this event later today. Of course, I could be wrong... but either way, I can't wait!

If possible, can you bring up the C-Stick and ask if we can also use the Circle Pad Pro? I don't see why not but still..

I honestly think that you will able to play Shulk at PAX. From what I heard that it's final build but it would make sense since they have closed media event at PAX so they can running over with the announcements that made in Japanese Direct, along with final build demo. (Unless they decided to locked some characters out of final build for demo.)

I just sincerely hope that you would get your chance trying out characters!

Cool thanks dudes! Just watched it and yeah I'm good on spoilers. Really gotta finish that game after Dragoncon....

I gotta say though....definitely the weakest CG trailer for me so far. Feel like they kind of dropped the ball on introducing a character that could've had a really interesting introduction and that many people might not be familiar with. Instead they just made him say a couple of his cheesy lines and left it at that. (Which I love that are in there, but still.)

Anyway he looks like he has the potential to be an awesome Smasher. Also, FUCK YEAH SMASH BROS SOUNDTRACK!!! I imagine it won't be everything, but still YES!!!!

Monolithsoft added to the credits, and I assume Ape/Itoi will too once Ness is revealed.

Snake hopefuls still have a chance!

While that's never been a strong point against his inclusion (at the time Ness was obviously coming, and Shulk was very likely), it's always nice to get some reassurance.

I so some people will organise splitting the costs to save the money. But then the question is... who keeps the box?

This won't be true if Ice Climbers are added, or if you consider the Xeno series, or after X is released.

X isn't out yet though. If Shulk was added in the next Smash he'd likely not be seen as an oddity. It's only in the present that what I say is true (because he also will not be a new character in, say, seven years time).

Oh man, his voice. I can't wait to troll my fiancée with his trailer when I get home from PAX. She doesn't care about Shulk or Xenoblade one way or the other but she ACTIVELY DESPISES HIS VOICE form my time playing Xenoblade (short as it was). It's gonna be so fun seeing her reaction to this!
