OH MY GOSH

SOMEBODY SUGGESTED THIS
AND IT HAPPENED
YES YES YES
NO I'M NOT GAY

I've never played the game, but are they the typical party members that players use in the game? are they good?

I'm about 15 hours in, but so far they are like 1 of 6. The combat system basically has 3 members active at any given time, and the player only controls one, with the AI controlling the other two. I personally prefer Reyn to Dunban as a tank, and I like Riki, but haven't used him much. I like using
Melia
a lot, but I only use them if I control them, since they have a more in-depth playstyle that the AI doesn't really use well.

OT: I'M SO EXCITED THIS IS GREAT. I think I'm gonna have to move my Xenoblade save to Dolphin since I can't stand looking at it stretched and pixelated on my TV, but it's so good. Shulk is another main I'll use

Wouldn't say there are any "typical" party members. It all boils down to personal taste and whose abilities will be useful at the given situation in the game -- honestly, they're all quite good. The party system is much like that in Chrono Trigger. You don't even have to bring Shulk into battle.

curious he has that body as he is supposed to be the skinny, nerdy type.
With Samus, this,Hyrule Warriors, Wonderful 101,Bayonetta2 and others im noticing a pattern, Nintendo are getting sexier? not that im complaining.
Maybe i should make a thread, lol.

Oh wow, that was great. Riki and Dunban, Metal Face, Gaur Plain. That was beautiful. Now just show the Reyn AT and everything will be almost perfect.

And here I was thinking the leak was going to kill my hype for this trailer.

It depends. Having played all the way up the last boss with over 90+ hrs sunk into it, Dunban has the highest Agility of all the party members especially when he's wearing the trunks that you see Shulk wearing above (which increases the attack evasion probability) and has a pretty fun move set when you control him directly.

Riki on the other hand inflicts DPS/DOT status effects such as poison, freeze, and paralysis as well as has several near game breaking moves such as filling the Battle gauge quickly which when full allows you to do a Chain Attack. Personality wise, Riki is pretty charming/happy-go-lucky whereas Dunban is a bad ass with a sensible head.

Personally, I prefer to use Melia directly which is a character that you get much later in the game because she has a really powerful move set that gives her passive abilities when used defensively and when outfitted with heavy armor, she becomes a mage tank as well as Dunban and a character you get super late in the game that I won't spoil. Otherwise, I'll roll with Shulk, Dunban, and Reyn as well.

I used Seven for a lot of the last leg of the game, but I was trying to get their compatibility with Melia up for a Colony 9 quest.

I'm thinking Reyn will be an assist trophy. Likely that he'll shout out "It's Reyn time!" before he attacks as well.

I can only hope. I mean the worst possible outcome would be Fiora popping up and telling Shulk to press ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON

I'm sorry if jumping out the bush is considered hype for some of you, but it wasn't of rme. The other reveals in other trailers usually started with a big fight with the new character being revealed by jumping in. This time, shulk literally jumped on a running bowser. Is that hype at all?

Sorry, not sorry for having an opinion.
You haven't played Xenoblade, you won't get it. The Back Slash is a very important move in Xenoblade if you ever want to damage monsters, that's why Shulk waited till Bowser looked away. It's a reference, just like all the other trailers have had references in them, do not expect to catch one if you haven't played the source game.
