If ICs really were N3DS exclusive, that would be the slimiest thing Nintendo/Sakurai has ever done and I wouldn't buy any version on principle. Fuck that noise.
Some Smash-centric reveals (and digs). Someone can add something that I missed:
- Shulk Reveal
- Dunban and Riki in Shulk's final smash
- Riki as AT
- Dr. Kawashima AT (?)
- Some Brawl stages back on 3DS version
- Gaur Plains stage available on both versions
- Shulk on trunks as alt
- C-stick final smash available for New 3DS
Honestly, both versions of the 3DS should get the same content.
But considering Smash 4 for WiiU is apparently supposed to be Smash 5, I don't understand why there's this dumb forced roster parity concept, if Ice Climbers are cut because of that stupid rule, I'll think even less of the 3DS version.
I already don't like that it's taken away development resources that could have been used to make the WiiU version even better,but if it actively holds back the WiiU version from unique things that have been in the previous games, It will fucking suck.
Do we know if Sakurai is still going for roster parity? Has he ever mentioned anything that might indicate he's since revised his stance?

So does Shulk have the same English VA as Xenoblade? I just wonder because I know fans kept asking the VA on Twitter if he's involved. If so, it must be really satisfying for him to see this trailer.

So because the base machine is not powerful enough to include Ice Climbers, nobody should get to play them even if more capable hardware is available?
I mean, I'm sure they would be free. So why get so upset?
Edit: Think of it like an expansion pack. Should nobody get DK64 or Majora's Mask because the base N64 isn't strong enough? I know it's not the same thing because of the price difference, but surely after a trade in an upgrade is not going to he completely unfeasible.

You're essentially locking away an entire character for a hardware revision and fucking over the people who'd bought a 3DS for Smash, are buying the XL bundle or the people who are getting Smash 3DS and are content with their old 3DS.
The Expansion Pak was bundled with DK64, and it was an ADDITION to the console, not a new revision. The expansion pak is closer to the M+. You had the option to buy an add on for the old wiimotes, or buy the wiimote with the M+ already in it. In the N3DS' case, old 3DS owners won't get the option to add on the better CPU and other hardware improvements (outside the extra buttons)

What about the people who get fucked over for having little to no interest in the 3DS version and have to lose out on a character that's been a staple of the smash series for 2 games now just because the game has to have the exact same roster as a much weaker system?
It's great, but it's just a soundtrack CD so there's not exactly much to talk about.

What other Brawl stages are on the 3DS version asides from Green Hill Zone? Are there more stages than just the leaked ones, or is it following the leaked list pretty closely?

I was playing Castlevanis LoS2 but I think i'll put that on hold. It feels wrong to be hyped for a character that I never beat his game.

Ness/falcon were starting in melee, and then unlockable again in brawl, though they were locked in 64.
This is the first time we've hard a starter relegated to unlockable when all previous entries he was a starter
Makes me want to, also. I've been playing peace walker and I feel like if I abandon it for xenoblade... i'll never finish it. I dunno, i'll see.

Does anyone else find it amusing that we got ZSS in workout gear, and there was a massive thread of people upset about her sexualization, but the response to Shulk getting a swimming trunks outfit is "K"?

And that's just as bad. They should've never bothered with Smash 3DS if it meant compromising the whole game, but Nintendo probably saw the 3DS version selling the most and they thought the console needed the boost (seeing as it's he only thing that really sells)
It's to reward people who buy it day 1 and sign up to club nintendo. It helps nintendo out, so they reward you.
