Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

I'm kind of disappointed that Shulk just got a counter for his prediction ability. I know that's probably the only realistic way of implementing it, but still.
Final Smash, Shulk activates it, the background goes black and white and the fight goes on like this for 10 seconds or so, after the time ends the background is colored again and any KO Shulk did will count and the stock of the enemy goes down normally and if Shulk was KOed in that time frame, he respawns in the same place he used the FS with no stock loss.
Though it maybe a broken FS, but then again it's hard to manipulate time in a multiplayer game.

So with the Shulk trailer, I think we absolutely, 100%, definitively find the person who made the image of Shulk's art supposedly just being Little Mac at an angle and laugh at them for days.

I have never been aroused by a video game character until today...thanks Nintendo!

Rubbish. Sakurai outright said it was 3DS only until he saw the screen was a bit small and Iwata approached him on a Wii U version. Sakurai's main reason was that he felt Smash could no longer evolve on console.

Please read up on this.

I swear, Sakurai's reasoning around certain things is the stupidest shit.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but whatever, why were Bowser so surprised by a dingledangle butterfly? Or did he see the butterfly and at that very moment he sensed something greater? Or maybe he mistook it for a new Pokeman.

Smash 3DS and Smash Wii U were announced at the same time before development started. Development started at the same time for them, so it doesn't matter which one was planned first. In the end, they both exist.

What about the person who said the Dr. Mario render was fake because you could photoshop an existing render of Mario to look like... Mario.

Says the guy who committed to neither #TeamReal nor #TeamFake ;-)

Just giving you a hard time. Although I'd like to remind everyone I was on #TeamReal from the start. *puffs chest*

How many ghosts are you going to add to the back of you avatar? Haha, they keep catching me off guard!
Scarier than Kojima's PT guaranteed.

Is be very very surprised if that happens
I would be too but everyone keeps saying it (some jokingly of course) but I can't help but be concerned/paranoid.
I still think that Sakurai has ultimate control on what to do but that's just my thinking. Though Nintendo might actually have the final say. Idk.

So what typically comes from these closed media events? The one at PAX starts right now, but Sakurai isn't there so I don't anticipate any news. What's the intention of this closed-doors showcase?

Is the joke Xenoblade related? Only played a minuscule part of the game :(

No. The joke is that fierce and monstrous Bowser, King of the Koopas, is chewing up the stage and a gentle little butterfly, who is not intimidated by him, flutters into the frame.

Then he gets wrecked by Shulk.

I don't know what's so confusing about that.

I still like my idea of new fighters on WiiU disc who are DLC for smash 3DS. With perhaps a voucher for the characters free on 3DS to entice people to double dip.

This is fine for people who are buying both.

It's a huge kick in the nuts to find out the full-priced game you just bought isn't complete and they clearly were only holding it back to prop up the Wii U version.

Sorry, I should've worded my joke better. Haha, I'm making fun of people who hold out until release to accept anything as "official" if they don't like it. :P

heh, oops. I should have known you were more clever, that you didn't need another person to answer such a simple question. Welp! I'll just hide out for a while then...take cover since it's the weekend.

When do you think we will get to see the 3DS intro?

What about the person who said the Dr. Mario render was fake because you could photoshop an existing render of Mario to look like... Mario.

I wonder how surprised they will be when they find out Nintendo likely uses Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop for character renders.

Haha, no man, I keep forgetting in forums you really do have to mark sarcasm. There unfortunately no font that is universally sarcastic yet.

I don't join any team things or avatar bets.
It was just for fun. :-) I recall noting that you never made any statements at that time saying whether you thought it was real or fake. Even outside of lists or bets. You framed everything very carefully, like, "Not that I think it's real, but..." And so on.

The point being, it's fine to play it safe, but I just don't think one should feel inclined to mock #TeamFake. And I say that as a person who was #TeamReal from the start. Let's be good sports. :-)

Wouldn't be the first time Sakurai has been backwards, wrong, and ridiculous. ;)

It's also a huge kick in the nuts when a game you've waited for for years doesn't even have staple characters because of the limitations of an inferior version.

Right, if you're buying both, it's fine. If you're only buying the 3DS version, being told "Well the Wii U owners had to pay $60 so you should be grateful" is probably not smart.

There's already 49(?) characters, which is way more than Brawl. Mario Kart only went from 24 (Wii) to 30 (Wii U). Are they holding the 6 DLC characters back?
