The number of appearances is only indirectly related to how iconic a character is. Being iconic means being well known and recognized. So the fact that far more people played DKC does make K Rool more iconic, even if he was in less games

I'm not taking any sides here, but that's just blatant speculation. Is there any metric anywhere to say "Yeah, precisely X different people played DKC 1, 2, 3 and 64, while Y different people played a game of the Metroid Series where Ridley made an appearance"? Probably not. So going down that path is futile.

I honestly feel like the word iconic has lost its meaning when it comes to roster discussions. It's almost subjective.

Add 'Giovanni & Mewtwo', there you go pretty much a Pokemon villain rep.

Unless we could get Team Rocket. I'd pay an unreasonable amount of money to play as Jessie, James, and Meowth. Too bad they never add stuff from the anime.

I'd love if we could get an actual bad guy Pokemon rep (I don't consider Mewtwo one lol). Giovanni would be so cool, but I don't know how he'd work lol. Maybe bring back the PT concept and give him Rhydon (first Pokemon yo) and/or Pokemon from unrepresented generations? Maybe ones that are used by the bad guys from those generations, though I'm having difficulty imaging Murkrow, Camerupt/Sharpedo and Liepard playable in Smash lol.

But i don't see a DLC package without any returning vets that were cut. A 5-pack of all vets that were cut would be the easy way to go, but I dont think i'd buy a pack with Wolf, Lucas, Mewtwo, IC, Snake. Don't really like any of those characters.

He isn't, but he's easily the most recurring foe outside the Metroids themselves and is easily the most visible villain in Super Metroid and Prime.

Ridley certainly is iconic in the context of Metroid and is more well-remembered than other members of the Smash cast; it's just Dixie and Mewtwo stand way above him.

It&#8217;s funny how Gematsu searing the Chorus Kids into everyone&#8217;s brains has made them a highly requested character, even for myself. Gematsu is what made me look into Rhythm Heaven as a viable option, and it really does deserve significant representation. It&#8217;s one of Nintendo&#8217;s more notable new IPs of the last decade.

• Three installments and an arcade port.
• The series has sold several million copies.
• Produced by Tsunku, a famous Japanese musician.

I&#8217;d definitely consider Rhythm Heaven &#8220;Smash worthy,&#8221; and the Chorus Kids seem like such a fun, unique concept.

Sometimes. You will see guys who may have their own agenda, but still serve a great power. Vile, Proto Man, Metal Sonic and Knuckles, etc etc.

I don't recall any masterminds that double as rivals. I'm sure examples exist though.

Ideally that's the case.

If I had to guess, it's a final build of the game with only playable characters already revealed. Impressions are on an embargo so the press have an even chance of writing and publishing at the same time.

Pipe dream is that it's newcomers, but that they have to wait for newcomer reveal to write about impressions.
