Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

ugggh FE.
If any DLC has FE characters in it, I will not purchase that DLC.
Why the Fire Emblem hate? Besides, there aren't anymore characters in Awakening that actually matter, since the Big 3 are in the game in some capacity (Chrom w/ Robin's FS, and Robin & Lucina being playable). Likewise, I don't see them backtracking on FE characters from past games unless they were already in Smash.

Played smash run at PAX today as Greninja. I am not a big fan of him yet. I felt like a lot of his moves didn't hit as well as I would have liked (though that may have been the screen being a bit hard to tell what's going on).

The roster seems to be finalized. I guess no Lucas or Ice Climbers Amiibo for me :(

Guys I'm really sad. If only Dr. Mario weren't there .... :(

What is Roy's characterization anyway in Fire Emblem?

Roy is just...what characterization? I mean to say that he is the definition of bland and is thus constantly rated to be one of the worst lords, if not the worst lord in all of FE. Also in the game he's almost completely useless as a fighter and he's a liability.

That's pretty much all there is to it...he's pretty much got nothing except a cool family.

I don't like FE, nor the Characters.

Sorry just sour right now.

So basically if he wasn't scheduled to be the newest Lord at the time of Melee's development, he would have been lucky to be an assist trophy later on. Funny how that works out.

Henry would be a perfect Robin clone. They wouldn't even have to change the model that much - heck, Henry could get away with being just an alt. Sadly, him gleefully shouting "I'm gonna kill you!" is probably a little too much for Smash. And without his best line, what's the point?

All those people on /v/ right now claiming to be PAX insiders...

Hey guise, I am totally at PAX right now, and you would not believe what they showed me. They've got Ridley and K Rool as playable characters. Mewtwo is a Master Ball Pokemon and the roster is 75 characters. You should believe me

Why? She plays the same moveset as Marth, and we already have 2 characters with changin sounds and gender in alts (WFT and Robin) and they are equally good.
For me, this is more of a personal like and dislike kind of thing on how characters and alts are handled.

And if the next FE game continues to follow the exploits of Chrom, Robin, Lucina, & the other Shepherds (which is likely considering how big of a hit Awakening was)?
I'd be shocked
it ends pretty conclusively
I can see another FE game more in vein with what Awakening brought to the table but not a direct sequel.

Okay so unrelated but, I've had the money for Smash 3ds on the eShop for a while, but I added 20 extra to buy Gunvolt, and now I have enough left to buy a 7.99 game and have the $5 dollar coupon bump up to Smash 3DS price again.

In short.

Any recommendations? Wii U eShop only pls

I won't believe anything that doesn't include the Chorus men

What genres do you like, and how do you feel 'bout SNES games?

Okay, fine. My uncle's cousin's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate who works at Nintendo said Chorus Men, Ice Climbers, Lucas, Snake, Squirtle and Ivysaur are part of that 75 man roster as well

pretty much, I don't talk about it, but that's why I am really against Roy being in Smash

I feel pretty good about SNES games. Got a bunch of those through the 0.30 cent promotion thing earlier though. Plus EarthBound/Megaman X

I like platformers, action games, and RPGS. I love fighting games, but seems street fighter is the only fighting game on vc, don't really like the old street fighters much.

I'm not a fan of Chrom which is why I'm glad it's Lucina instead, and while I feel like their changes to the support system made the game too easy+somewhat broken...I guess I'd be fine with it being carried over as long as maps got more varied.

I would go on about how I'm not a fan of the avatar in a role any larger than the avatar in FE7, but that's for another time and place

Almost one more month left for 3DS version! I can't wait. Also

or maybe not :P

Hey, kind of a random question, but does anyone know of a good video that highlights the story of Xenoblade? A buddy of mine really likes the look of Shulk in Smash, but doesn't want/have time to play through Xenoblade to get his backstory, so he wants to watch a summary of it.

The 30 cents promo included Kirby's Adventure; if you liked that game, you're gonna have a blast with Kirby Super Star. Quite a meaty SNES package, plenty of diversity, and considered to be the one of the best in the series. (On that note, if you dug MegamanX, MegamanX2 is a no brainer).

My experience with action and RPG games in the U's Virtual Console is more limited (Embarrasingly, Square-Enix is a complete no show so far) but going by your tastes, you should have a fun time with The Legend of the Mystical Ninja. Great presentation, lovely music, clean graphics, mixes up RPG elements with platforming/action ones.

No love for Roy.

Though thinking about it, there are characters I want in because of how they play (Lucas) and there are characters I want in because I like the character (Little Mac). I'm indifferent to Roy as a character, I just want the fire part of his stuff back.

Thanks for the recommendations. I like Kirby, but don't really want to get Super Star, I have played it before too. Yeah I would have gotten FFVI if SE decided to release it on the west, but it seems they won't. Gonna check the Legend of the Mystical Ninja, never actually played it, but I keep hearing about it.

So maybe probably that, or one of the two megaman x's games.

Is reading the wiki page out of the question?
inb4 "lol reading"

Is Legend of the Mystical Ninja the localized name for one of the SNES Ganbare Goemon games? If so, I second that recommendation. The SNES Goemon games are great.

Nintendo will now be taking down all Xenoblade videos from YouTube. If you want to know the story, you've got to buy Xenoblade for New 3DS.

I'd be pretty happy if by the end of its life cycle, the DLC is (assuming that we have our final roster)

Mewtwo
Pichu
Roy
Snake
Lucas
Squirtle
Ivysaur
Wolf
Chorus Kids
Dixie Kong
Ridley
Captain Syrup
Tingle
Isabelle
Inkling
Andy
Isaac

Perfect roster

lol

Some time during the presentation one of the developers had joked about how often they see Ridley being requested, and it's something they noticed even during Brawl's development. In Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS, they really tried to get him into the game but they stressed complications trying to keep parts of his model from clipping into parts of the environment and keeping a consistant hitbox, which played a role into why his shadow could only be seen when they showed off the Metroid stage. According to them, that was originally his unfinished player model that Sakurai was working on but it has since been re-worked and relegated to being a stage-hazard and is much bigger since he was last hinted at.
