She will return.

Listen to IGN's NVC from Friday.

They have a guest on there (he doesn't work for IGN) and right near the end of the podcast, he says that Sony has some big things planned for Japan and people that love Japanese games.

I don't remember what his job is, specifically, but he said something about helping to start the Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9 and doing PR for Mighty Gunvolt. He lives in Japan.

Time stamp?

At this thing last year we got the VitaTV announcement. I wonder if we'll see any other exciting, unexpected, hardware announcements this year.
Perhaps a backwards compatible PS4

So basically, we've already got hints from some credible sources that this conference is going to bring the hype, especially with the comment made that Sony's conference has stuff that will finally swing the tide for PS4 in Japan. I want to keep my expectations as low as possible so I'll be surprised, but I an't help but feel hyped even for my trolling butt. :P

someone have the links to the sources

Oh man, I'm super feeling the hype. I really want them to show The Last Guardian or mention it in some way, but I think that I'm just setting myself up for disappointment there.

Glad to see this happening during a holiday weekend so I don't feel guilty staying up late to watch. Hoping to see some spectacular stuff tonight.

They've already said The Last Guardian won't be there.

Nothing huge ever really gets announced at TGS, I'll be happy with one big game announcement, and we'll be lucky if even that happens.

What does that mean? It will start selling more than Wii U? Or, will it finally start selling in Japan like it has in the rest of the world? The problem is not just the lack of Japanese games aimed at Japanese gamers, but the whole gaming trend in Japan. It would need to be the greatest conference of all time to change that. That is virtually impossible for a single conference.

What does that mean?

It means hopefully well enough to crawl back to the base expectation of achieving PS3 level sales by its end-of-life, plus/minus 20%.

Nobody expects a revitalisation of the console market in Japan. However, we at least want a status quo where enough consoles are sold that game makers will still say "can't be helped, I'll make PS4 games."

I think Sony knows how important this TGS is and will have a dozen CG teaser trailers if need be to announce games. It is more then obvious the Japanese gamers will not buy the system with nothing that appeals to them on it outside of FF XIV or a PS3 port of Yakuza and Dynasty Warriors.

Time for Sony to do whatever is necessary to get the Japanese developers to show a pulse for the new generation. Capcom is starting well with Dead Rising 3 and Deep Down is looking really good. That Panta Rhei engine sets them up very well for the new generation of consoles.

So hopefully Sony can talk them into Dragons Dogma 2 or Monster Hunter on the Ps4 sooner then later if they directly assist with development.

Then get Level 5 to put out a Dark Cloud HD collection while they also announce Dark Cloud 3 or a unique project for Ps4 with a tentative late 2015-2016 schedule.

Then showcase what Japan Studios is up to perhaps with a Knack 2 announcement or a new internal JRPG project announcement.

They could get the Japan indie scene involved with projects like Mighty No 9 and Project Pheonix being showcased on stage with gameplay.

Stuff like that would be a good start. Force Square Enix to show Final Fantasy 15 in its current form and show Kingdom Hearts 3. Go ahead and announce FFVII remake too while you are at it ( lol )

I have a good feeling about this show. Sony is in a very strong WW position and if they can get the Japanese development community on board and show them over in Japan it is going to be a strong generation on the console, the hype alone may sell systems until mid-late 2015 when the games start to get finished

They have to announce at least one big exclusive (Japanese-centric) game if they are still seriously interested to finally make Japan interested on PS4.

Damn :/ Maybe they'll announce a release date for FFXV? That would be pretty big to me.

It's like everyone forgot what happened when 3DS got Monster Hunter! :P

Pfft, that tin bucket is small fry compared to the Gravity Queen.

Seriously though, if we don't see GR 2 at this conference tomorrow then that's another Sony title that's officially entered Last Guardian territory.

Aren't you a bit too dramatic on this one ? I mean the game was teased 1 year ago (it was not a proper annoucement : no platform, no official name). Let's imagine they shifted development from Vita to ps4, they could need more developement time...But I would be surprised and disapointed the game is a no show.

How big is this conference gonna be compared to the actual Tgs conference? I would think they would spread the big announcements towards tgs. I secretly hope for anything related to ape escape.Someday ...sometime

I think the only possible daydream I can think of from Square Enix is DQX port to PS3/PS4. This game is on PC now and from the success of FFXIV on PS3/PS4 I don't see why SE won't bring this game to Sony console at all.

How big is this conference gonna be compared to the actual Tgs conference?

There is no TGS conference.
