Well, in my opinion, Sony has had two great conferences already this year. If they go 3/3 I will be amazed.

This is the one conference that Sony needs to get the point for, though.

I mean, even assuming Sony had a bad E3/Gamescom this year, it's not like there's any real concern because Sony's WWS pipeline is reliable enough that they'll deliver eventually... when it comes to NA/PAL developed titles.

But JP is a different beast altogether. And because Japan on its own is already slower than the rest of the industry ( and has a stop-gap/alternative in the form of 3DS ), response needs to be swift, else Japan will just drag its legs again with PS3 games in 2017.

Well they still haven't announced it for Japan yet and Tabata said that the title is meant to push the install base for XV so...

Well, afaik it won't be but plans change. I do think Type-0 could show though. This is going to be a pretty important conference for the JP market.

This has me hyped. Sony had a decent E3 and a fantastic Gamescom because they knew it was important to keep momentum up in the US and EU. They know they need to make an impression on the Japanese market, so I do feel this conference could contain some exciting announcements.

Japanese magazine sources are hearing that there'll be something big. ( multiple/singular, uncertain, but big enough to increase the interest for PS4 in Japan )

Senran Kagura, and One Piece are implied to be there with devs tweeting about the conference. Bloodborne will definitely be there.

TLG will not be at TGS. That game will be shown off at E3 2015.
Showing TLG at TGS isn't gonna cause the Japanese to run out and purchase a ps4 right away, they will buy one when the games released. TLG needs all the exposure it can get for the budget/effort they've put into it. It will be at E3 and I will make a $20 psn Giftcard wager to one person if they think otherwise.

Its funny how DMC4 gets so much hate for backtracking but DMC3 probably has about as much.

Re-played DMC3 recently after years of not playing it, still an amazing game but it did have backtracking up the wazoo as well.

I'm not expecting nothing so great at this TGS, the japanese taste for games it's very particular and normally it doesn't match with the western preferences, so I think that we will see several bizarre games.

It will be a great surprise if TLG appear, but other ones like the New Yakuza already is expected.

Gravity Rush really does have so much potential. The core mechanics were ace and the world was intriguing and charming. They could make a movie out of the first game as well. Best game of 2012!

Type 0 is a small fry as far as I am concerned...Sad that they are probably going to push it as something big. It should have hit two years ago...on Vita and PS3. It would have looked pretty good as an HD port on PS3. On PS4 it will look decent, but a joke compared to most other stuff on the console. It should be a digital release at a minimal price tag at least...
