I would love to see Bowser Jr being playable in Smash, but Sakurai blew my mind away when he came up completely different take on for Bowser Jr. It's mainly Clown Cart, and Bowser Jr is changeable with any Koopalings. Clown Cart is pretty amazing character from what I see, and I hope that that character is pretty good with aerial attacks.
IGN worker got his wish since he said that he want Koopalings get in, and I got my wish too.
Wii Fit Trainer, Robin, Rosalina and Greninja are the characters that I never knew that I really want to see.

Ah, so THAT's why it's $100 on amazon. I was looking at the roster today and looking at games I missed out on. I have one for every character except Xenoblade (waiting for 3DS), WiiFit (almost bought U until I realized it was crazy expensive), and I guess a recent Pacman game. Uprising and Awakening were both excellent picks, so I was thinking of maybe trying one of the Kirby's I missed.Its because NOA isn't printing the game anymore. It feels weird to completely miss out on a Kirby game.

Bowser Jr. has always been a character I've been vehemently against, I like him as a Mario character but I never felt like there was enough there to make him stand out in Smash Bros. I always figured it'd be him with a paintbrush or whatever, or just a tiny Bowser clone.
Boju in the Clown Car rules though, because that thing is incredibly iconic and offers some really fun moveset potential. And holy shit, that gameplay footage we saw of him.
I still feel like Bowser Jr. is a bit too...second-rate for Smash, but I can't complain because he looks awesome. And if the Koopalings are gonna be there...damn that'll rule. I actually kind of wish the character was called "Koopa Clown Car" because representing Bowser's weird family as a whole seems more worthwhile.
You could cheat and pick up Kirby Fighters Z from the eshop, I guess.

Impa seems like such an obvious and also fan pleasing alt/clone that I'll be a bit surprised if she is indeed missing from the game.
Like not to knock the Doc that much but if there was only time to lob in the few clones we've seen I just feel that throwing another Zelda character in who represents a line of recurring characters within the series should've taken priority over Mario moonlighting as a shady doctor especially when Rosalina and Bowser Jr are in.

If she has a big role in the new Zelda like in SS I could definitely see it. Before that she was mostly behind the scenes.

i get what're you saying, but then Zelda would have THREE clones, more than unique characters in the series. And Dr. Mario has already been in Melee, so it's easier to do than doing a character like Impa from scratch.
Just wanted to say. absolutely amazing that Xenoblade is getting the love it deserves! Between this announcement, the port to New 3DS, and the sequel, its been great!
I remember importing this game from Europe back then thinking it had no chance in hell in ever coming out over here. I was simply blown away by the game. Its still one of my favorite games of all time, especially as a RPG. It's just great to finally see this game (and hopefully series now) get the justice it deserves.

Yea I agree, people bitch about pokemon having a lot of reps but mario takes the cake. just cause you give them a different icon doesn't mean there not mario characters either btw(looking at you, yoshi)
I'm glad he turned out the way he did. I remember being vehemently against Bowser Jr during the early days of Smash 4 Gaf, but finding out he was in the clown car, and seeing how he was in action, I made a complete turn around--and I may even be a big fan of him now.

Those are almost as bland as Sonic's colors. I hope they give DHD something better.
And clay pigeons could make a good side-B or side smash. The longer you charge it, the farther/higher arc he throws the clay pidgeon.

Same here. I really appreciate the notions that they made the model based on Japanese game box's dog art and the sprites.
Ironically that's when Duck Hunt in fake leak stood out a lot for me. For example, No one ever gave Duck Hunt Dog and Ducks the name, Duck Hunt. People always coined, Laughing Dog, Duck Hunt Dog, Mr. Pepper, and Dog and Ducks. No one ever mentioned Duck Hunt ever since Smash 4 started.
Also other thing that stood out for me as well is that fan arts and models always portrayed Duck Hunt dog as bipedal character that can fighting with frontal paws and used a lot of special moves as if he's human. Leak's Duck Hunt Dog didn't. The picture implied that he is more likely to be quadruped fighter, along with a duck or more.
I have a highest res picture of Duck Hunt as I could find. Please take a look at Duck Hunt Dogs. Here the pictures that y'all can compare models.
He clearly still have black freckles ongoing for him on his cheeks and he still have black eye rings around his eyes, like Dog's sprites. Also you can see that he have black collars just like he did in NES.
Heck, I better see this animation as Duck Hunt's introduction.
Conclusion: Heck, if it's fake render or real model by Sakurai and the team, it's practically best take on Modern Duck Hunt's Dog and Duck. It was completely different from other models that I have seen over the time. Either, They have done fantastic job with the models and I would like to tip my hat off to everyone who got involved in this.
I'm still waiting for hard confirmation for Duck Hunt being playable before I set up my hype mode to highest.
P.S. Also I would like to bring up that Sakurai did mentioned that Nintendog and Villager wouldn't able to fight during Brawl Dojo. I suspected that Sakurai really intend to make a nintendog as playable character but there is a problem that Nintendog look so realistic so no one want to hurt realistic puppies.
I'm not sure about that but I'm piqued with Dog and Duck's loser animation. I meant it's first quadruped character without any supporting hands to clap for victory winner. Ivysaur clapped with her vines.
Same here, Heath! I love that it has this plastic look to instead of having obvious fur. I think that's what sticks out to the most, which ends up making it look so damn good. The in-game model for Duck Hunt will surely be one of the most gorgeous characters in the game and I cannot wait to see them.
I'm surprised that they honestly didn't give him a name. More people figure that he'd be alone, pulling out all types of references made from his game and more. So, having the duck by his side is a very nice and welcoming surprise.
I'm actually very happy on the part of Duck Hunt being a quadrupedal, it makes him more unique then he already is. Especially with all the great attention to detail that was given from back of the old sprite. I really cannot wait to see what alternate colors will be given to Duck Hunt. There are so many possibilities on actual patterns for dogs.
I have to agree, there is nothing more that will top this look for Duck Hunt, it's just too perfect. This render will be looked at, as one of the greatest, so respect for the creation of bring back a retro character to life. :3
This is why I have no doubts about this being fake. Sakurai really wanted to have Nintendogs become a playable character, along with Villager. But as we see now in Smash 4.. Villager is in the game! Nintendog is an AT again, sense nobody wants to beat up on such a realistic puppy/dog. What's the next best thing? The dog from Duck Hunt! Which can still go with his intentions and ideas, while giving off that slapstick humor added in with the duck. Getting a two for one, along with another retro character.
The thing that makes me appreciate it even more? Is the fact that we get have our Pseudo-Banjo & Kazooie in the game. Haha.

Tbf Mario and pokemon are Nintendo two biggest franchises and up until recently Zelda really didn't have any real legit new potential newcomers. Impa Just kinda became cool lately.

Good point about three clones, though Impa is much more shall we say clone level than the other two, you could say the real issue is Toon Link and Ganondorf getting the short end of the move set stick even now.
Mario is the main franchise for Nintendo so I'm not too fussed by it having more reps than anything else plus I'm a big fan, as far as the icons go I only consider Yoshi to be part of that mainline bunch, Wario I feel is very much his own thing and in two series at that.
Even so while Bowser Jr looks to be a character right up my alley and Rosalina pulls an interesting moveset based upon the Galaxy stuff Mario ain't touching I would've preferred fleshing out other series that bit more first before going for these two newcomers, but then again I'm just one of those salty DK and Metroid guys, grumble.
I'm not really disappointed by Dr. Mario and Dark Pit being cheap clones, as much as I'm disappointed that they could've had far more interesting cheap clones, like Impa.
