PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

I know this is OT but I don't know where it should go. Does anyone have a perfect vita OLED? Dusted mine off and I'm debating whether to send it in for servicing before the warranty is over for faint lines on the screen.

What's it like owning two Vita's with a single US PSN account? Can I still play both and do they synchronize their saves to the cloud? Or is it unworkable?

your account had a quota of 2 portable device between PSP and Vita. so you can have 2 Vita as long as you don't have any PSP.

save files can be uploaded to cloud if you had PS+ subscription, not sure how the auto upload will work though, maybe it'd be better if you set the save upload to manual to prevent old save from 1 Vita overwriting the newer save file in the other Vita.

With how the IP problem and VPN process to go through to play the game, I'd prefer if it's something different, like how Puzzle and Dragon Z compare to the mobile game.

2 millions device and memory card sales guaranteed. What a shame, Sony.

OMG

I think you can even activate 3 portable devices now since they released the Vita TV.

Thank you! Still sounds a bit too bothersome..

I have a doubt, i waited for Putty Squad to be on sale and finally the time arrived... On PS3 and PS4?!?!?
I thought it was just an error so i went to the Vita store and it disappeared!
So i went tot he web store and the PS4 version says it's cross buy PS4-Vita, but what if i buy it and i can't download the Vita version? I don't have a PS4.
What to do? Anyone bought it recently?

Has anyone gotten their Play 2014 credit yet? It said on the webpage between August 26th and September 5th, was just curious if anyone had gotten it yet.

just to make it clear, vita don't really have any sync feature to the cloud. what it have is to periodically(or manually) upload save file to the cloud. your cloud storage is simply just a storage to store your save files. if you have 2 Vita the same games. you can upload a save data from one Vita to the cloud and then download the save files to the other Vita.

there's no sync option that will automatically make your 2nd Vita had the latest save file from the cloud. you had to download it manually.

why would you want 2 Vita and filled it with the same games anyway? if I had two Vita and use the same account, I'd probably spread my digital games across the two hardware. since my Vita game collection already far exceed 32GB memory card that I had.

Alrighty, got my system set up, my PS+ games from August all purchased. System seems very nifty so far. The PSN webstore is atrocious, though, wow.

Two questions:

1. How do PS1 games fare on the Vita? Playable? Any issues?

2. Is there a PSN ID exchange thread? In any case, feel free to add me! ID: fauxennui

Legitimately, the best gif ever. It keeps on delivering. I almost want to buy a 64gb card so that someone can hit me with that.

PS1 games are generally great. Only playability issues are if the game makes a lot of use of L2/R2.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. If I get a newer model Vita I'd keep the original one to play the PS1/PSP games I have.

PS1 games are brilliant on Vita especially when you set the screen to full.

I really need to. Gif aside, it's crazy how 32gb isn't enough if you go all digital. I imagine even 64 gb isn't enough.

Hell, I get most of my games physical but between indies, PS+ and PSP/PSOne games, my 32GB card is barely enough. I actually had to delete a few games in anticipation of Joe Danger and Don't Starve...

I had a massive clean out. Deleted Borderlands 2 + DLC, which I'd played maybe 40% of, and will probably delete Walking Dead after I complete it tomorrow, freeing up another 16GB. Will probably delete Lego HP, Metrico, and Proteus if I need to, as they honestly all seem as dull as dishwater. Deleted Ratchet and Clank and will probably DL each I haven't finished individually.

16GB peep holding on..

Just wanted to say to vita Gaf, I'm happy for you guys watching the conference last night couldn't help but smile. Finally you guys got the spotlight you deserved! I hope that god eater 2 game comes over cause it looks fantastic

So the only good news for me is another Ys... but Japan probably won't see it for 2 yrs, and then a year or so for us at XSEED speeds, if we do at all.

One thing to keep in mind is that many PSone games have loading times hard coded, and still take a long time to load even when not using discs. Vita has a "fast loading" option but I am honestly not sure what it does. I still adore my Vita for PSone games and it is one of my favorite uses of my vita (I have a page on mine with every FF game from 1 to X and X-2, so awesome to play them all on the go).

All games run smoothly and well, and like said only issues are games with heavy L2/R2 useage. Keep in mind you can remap all controls by holding down the Playstation button for a few seconds with the game launched. From there, you can re-map controls, turn analog on, enable "fast loading" and change screen settings (I like to use custom, and make the game fill the screen while preserving aspect ratio).

So my Playstation related goals for September:

1. Get the plat or close to it for PS All-Stars before Smash 3DS comes out
2. Finish story mode stuffs in P4A before Ultimax comes out
3. Keep playing Diablo 3 with my Crusader because it's fun and killing demons makes me feel good

It works but is a pain. The big problem with PS+ cloud sync is that it only works one way. Your saves are uploaded, but never downloaded, and there is no way to know unless you go and check the timestamps by hand.

I never owned two Vitas but at one point in time I did own two PS3s, and it was super annoying, having to always make sure I download the more recent save manually. At one point I gave up and made sure I never play the same game on both consoles.

And then when one of my PS3s died I said "fuck it, too much trouble" and replaced it with a PS4 instead.

I think the PS4 does it right but I'm not entirely sure, haven't used my account on more than one so far.

EDIT: Forgot that we were now in September, sorry about the bump
