Persona 5 also launching on PS4, releasing 2015 ["waifu"/"husbando" crap = ban]

To join in the "who is the best girl in P4?" talk. I actually find it hard to have a favourite. I absolutely enjoyed waifuing every single one of them. I rushed on Yukiko first but everyone is just as great so it's hard to compare.
If anything, it took me months after finishing the game to finally give the edge to Chie, but it's by a very small margin. In an ideal Persona 4 world, I would have Yuu harem everyone.

Who am I kidding, Chie ftw. :p

I guess all persona threads turn into a waifu (is that the correct word, meh) war.

I know you're joking about fictional characters, but that attitude / behavior is really gross, manipulative, and predatory... And not really funny.

In the real world you don't fall in love with people you've just met (unless you're a creep) so this is what often happens on both sides.

No way the chains on the website represent characters. Including the MCs, Persona 3 had nine party members and Persona 4 had seven. Five characters is too few.

I would say, Yukiko and Rise are both canon (at least, by default the writing leans more towards them). I know there is no actual canon. But having played the game 3 times, I've always felt that the writing favored these two with Yu more then the others.

I felt the same way too, except for Rise, she came across as forceful whereas Protag and Yukiko often found themselves alone in the story and they did react to each other in certain ways beyond the player controls.

Considering I liked Yukiko the most, I was fine with this.

I hope they bring back Persona 3's social link system. Being able to blow off friends and have 20 girlfriends without consequence was pretty silly in Persona 4.

What's wrong with 5?

Aside from just generally being a small cast for a Persona game, if we're assuming a gameplay system similar to P3/P4, it doesn't allow for much skill or party diversity (four-person parties mean only one member ever left out).

I got that vibe as well in new game+. I'm also one who believe Chie & Yosuke deserved each other(Kanji and Naoto as well.)

Note: Personally chose Yukiko because she reminded me of my wife when we first met in high school xD

I went chie first, then naoto.

I realize I was steal-yo-girl senpai for my first two plays of P4.

Probably because Most people always used the first 3 members they met in their party.

Chie, Yukiko and Yoskue and Junpei, Yukari, Akihiko were always able to clear the game for me.

I only used like 4 characters in P4 anyway. It's not that far-fetched.

I was one of those guys who only beat bosses in P4 with the four senpai.

Kanji, Teddie, and Naoto? They were there to clear the extra bosses in the dungeons. The four senpai did the work while the other three were the cleanup crew.

I didn't care how all three of them were objectively better than Chie. I didn't get far enough in Golden, so I don't know if it's still like that with her.

I've played an awful lot of Persona 4 and I never thought Yukiko's S link was more romantic than the others. I guess compared to Chie but much to my chagrin Chie always feels more like a friend than an SO but I thought Noato felt really natural, but with my homes Kanji calling dibs she's off the table. Frankly, with all the S links I've gone through, there's only one true love interest.
Marie.

So bummed Troy Baker isn't Kanji anymore.

Apparently he is a union actor now so Atlus had to get Matt Mercer to be Kanji for Arena, Q and probably the golden animation and DAN as well.

Wow I didn't know this. That sucks! So that means he won't be back when Persona 4 Golden Animation is dubbed? Also, had no idea about Persona Q. Booooo.

it's not really a problem

Matthew Mercer's got range. He can sound like Troy Baker and someone else anytime he wants.

Mercer does a great job of imitating Baker. It's kinda become his job lol.

I didn't even noticed the chance in the second part of the anime

Wait whaaaaaaaat. I'm fucking bummed.

Yep. The game seemed intent on pairing Yosuke and Chie early on. Kanji and Naoto too of course, later in the game. Felt wrong to go against the will of the universe and steal them away.

I think Yukiko or Rise align best with the story. The game leans a little more towards Rise being the canon love interest (anime cutscenes and such show MC paired with her more often, esp in the added winter stuff in P4G), but Yukiko interactions seemed the most natural and fitting imo. And despite what people say, I like her character and weird sense of humor a lot lol

So yeah, #teamyukiko

Oh, we're doing waifu wars now? Let's take the next logical step then, starting with the truth:

Old Chie > New Chie.

EDIT: It would be cool to get a gay MC, since someone mentioned that. Not sure how that could impact sales though.

Probably. He only voiced Kanji for the first half of the original P4 Animation. Mercer replaced him in the second half.

Damn it. I want Troy Baker to be my best bro again in ideal Japanese High School

He's the only demon I know who have wings like that and is also blue

OK that's wishfull thinking but he does look like him tho
Its just that the middle body...thing is really bulky. Who knows, you could be right and its a redesign.

That's sad he won't be back but Mercer does a great job with the role
based on what I heard in the first P4 Animation when he took over for Baker
