I would never have looked into these thread if I hadn't seen this post.

Does this community honestly think what Deckard wrote is even 1% credible?
I don't know, that's something you'd have to ask the individuals in the thread. But if I had to guess I'd say, there will of course be people who agree with him and others who disagree. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

So, I've been talked into by friends, and a certain user here, to run a stream on Twitch for this when I get it next Friday.

Would you guys be interested in this? Just checking for interest before I waste my time :p

Yes please! I need me some peach gameplay.

Still Xenoblade spoilers
I would have just had the spine directly connected to the machine, with the head in a box. Fiora would be the only one to receive a cyborg body connected to the head, since she's supposed to be Mayneth's avatar and would need more autonomy.

That would work as well.
Though even Fiora wouldn't need a full cyborg body when she's in the Face - couldn't Linada just build her one when she joins the party? Plus, that cringe-inducing "first kiss" scene would be three times better if Shulk were just cradling Fiora's disembodied head.

I just noticed the completely different hairstyle he has in Smash 4.

Oh wow. You turned a cringe-worthy scene into a tragic one. Would also make the ending with
Fiora being fully Hom again
much more meaningful.

Interesting the love Crono gets considering he was on one game for Nintendo. Then again, I'd love Dimentio, so who am I to complain

Really? Then why when there were multi-plat games Wii always got stuck with PS2 version of the game like Sonic Unleashed?

It's easier to make the HD version of the game then the SD version and just put the SD one on Wii and PS2, but think of Resident Evil 4. It looked way better on Gamecube than PS2.
Power that gen was Xbox>Gamecube>PS2 with the cube Michael Jackson leaning toward the Xbox

I've had Deckard on ignore for months, so I don't really know what he wrote. FGW for some reason keeps giving the trolls attention, so I dunno

Yo SmashGAF! I've been lurking since before E3 and my account finally got validated! Glad I can finally jump on the hype train, even if it's only for the last 2 weeks.

And yeah, I know, "Here forever", all that jazz.

I was lurking since Brawl thread... I remember those were the days. A poster with a Jigglypuff fixation who made weird statistics, there was the quote mine named Crushed and of course all the speculation before the update. I liked DOJO!! updates, they were much more meaty, and there were much greater meltdowns. My favourite one was when Piplup (as a Pokéball Pokémon) was revealed. Japan time was late (which usually signified a New Character) and then it was the most anti-climatic reveal of all-time happened. Ah the memories...

Next friday some folks with 3DS capture cards and a twitch account are going to be making some fast money.

There were people streaming when Mario Kart 8 came out with tons of subscribers and thousands in donations and I've never seen them stream a single game again.

I figure Joe won't take subscribers, so it'll be nice for those hawks to have some competition.

Wow, I didn't know people were so loose with donating, lol.

I don't do anything I do, except my freelance work, for money so fret not...I will not be asking for donations.

tbh, I'd watch Joe stream anything

Have you even seen me?

You can donate to me if you'd like to. Every little helps. :c

I'm going to try and avoid your streams as much as possible. :P

There was some couple doing a 24 hour Stream of MK8 when it came out. For every 6 subscribers, they'd add an hour to the clock.

They played the game for a month and a half straight. That's how many subscribers they got. At 2.50 a pop per subscriber, they probably made months worth of salary just because they got in early on a new, hot game.

I don't remember their channel's name anymore, but I did follow them for awhile and after MK8 they streamed some Minecraft for a day and then never streamed again.

You get in early with a high quality capture, be reasonably good at the game. There's a lot of money to be made.

Some people got upset by the two seconds where they focus on Palutena's breasts and butt as she poses.

Well, unless it's a running thing from the game, it was kind of inappropriate. Nothing that will make me complain since I didn't even play Kid Icarus, but I did say WTF for those seconds.

Last night in Xenoblade:

I reached Gaur Plains. Magical! And prior to that, there was a huge battle against a giant spider.

I wouldn't say I'm spamming inputs, but I'd say I'm still "strategy-lite" at the moment. In the spider's case, I used Monado Shield repeatedly to protect Treyn and myself, healed us every now and then, and then focused on using the back slash from behind, the side slash from the side, the break-inflicting moves from the front, the huge Monado slash to clear out the crowd and deal more damage, etc. It was a bit confusing with the swarms of smaller spiders nearby. I know you can hold Z and then use the D-Pad to toggle targets, or hit A to focus everyone on one target or B to let everyone do whatever. But it was a bit hard to tell who was targeting what in the first place. I just know that when I used the Shield, it seemed to shatter the "prediction" of the incoming attack, which I'm guessing would've been a really nasty attack, had it connected. Also, there are many times when I use a break-inflicting move but Treyn doesn't follow up with a topple attack, perhaps because he's in cooldown from using it previously, or maybe because he doesn't think to use it.

Regarding chain attacks, it's rarely available when I scroll down from the Monado Arts icon (I believe the Party Gauge has to be full), but the times I pulled it off, I think I panicked and didn't fully observe what I was doing. I wasn't sure how much time I had to select each character's input. I recall the game saying it's more effective when you line up moves of the same color. So I guess this means if I start a chain attack with one of Shulk's attacks that have red icon, I should select a red icon attack for Treyn, and then Dunban, and so on. Hmm.

Still getting the hang of things, but I've defeated a half-dozen Unique Monsters and make quick work of most enemies, so I feel sufficiently in control, and I'm definitely having fun. There's just so much depth to uncover. Like now the game is talking about Skill Links. I barely understand it at this point, but it appears to be yet another way to expand the tactical options of each character.

Amazing game. :-)

You didn't read the lil primer I spent time writing out just for you did you? Gem is sad now : (

I wouldn't worry about them too much until the game actually tells you about them, but... here's a primer:

A chain attack a special attack chosen from the menu at the cost of 'party meter' (same meter you use to resurrect fallen party members).
When the chain attack begins, time will freeze and all your party's cooldowns get reset. You will then get to pick an attack to do.
Based on a combination of random chance, your affinity with the next party member in the 'chain' and a few other factors, after the attack you MAY trigger a button prompt. If you get said prompt and hit the B button at the right time then you will switch to the next member and select an attack for them. This continues until the chain breaks.

While you are chaining, using an ability of the same colour as the previously used colour (or a grey as grey count as 'wild' as far as colours go) you will build up a chain multiplier. Depending on how high this multiplier is, the attacks used during the chain attack will have their damage increased (this also applies to Damage over Time attacks, like some that Melia has. This is what makes her beastly :3 )

There are various skills you can get that increase the chances of the chain continuing and, more importantly, some that even heal your party when a chain attack is completed. Get these as they're super useful :3

Early in the game don't worry too much about getting a chain modifier, but be sure to understand how it works... at the early point, the chains are really just an easy way of scoring a topple/daze but as you get further in you'll start getting the tools to really lay down some ridiculous damage and in some cases even generate enough party meter right after to do them almost infinitely :3

It's worth noting that the chain multiplier doesn't directly translate to how much stuff gets buffed.. it works like this instead:
x1 = damage x 1
x2 = damage x 2
x3 = damage x 4
x4 = damage x 6
x5 = damage x 8

As you can see there's benefits for building it up before dropping the big guns, but only once you get enough skills and build up the relationships enough to enable them to go on that long. As others have mentioned, in early game it's just an easy way of scoring a topple without worrying about Reyn's cooldowns/AI, but later you'll want to apply damage over time abilities with a high chain bonus as it effects each tick of damage for utterly insane amounts of pain :3

It's not, but it's also actually in character which is a whole other set of issues.

At the end of the day it was pretty unnecessary, but hardly the end of the world.

Where's ma boy Skullhydra at? I heard he has a uber awesome new avatar now

Man Next friday? 11 days till I know if Lucas is still in or not? I can't believe we're that near already. I'm totally in btw

I read it when you first posted it! But at the time, I hadn't started playing the game yet, so it was hard to wrap my head around. :-O

Exactly. And anyway, Sakurai created her to begin with, so he can do whatever he wants with his waifu, I guess.
