Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

I'm curious, is anyone not getting the 3DS version at launch?
I might not.

Originally I had considered putting it off, but the thirst is too strong.

But that was mainly because at the time I wasn't getting a paycheck and that's no longer an issue. I might be disappointed by the stages, but everything else sounds good.

I can't imagine any of us aren't, unless there's some major financial/logistical issue (like if you're on a trip, that happened to me with Y).

And even then, some people have already bought Japanese 3DSs and Japanese copies of this game to play for a few weeks, even though they openly admit they're not in a stable financial situation.

3.02 is pretty stable, I run it on my Wii U and never got a freeze so far, but perhaps I am not even aware of current glitches lol

Stable. Nothing major. Brawl Minus, too.

Very stable. There isn't any major glitches as far as I know. Most of them were fixed in 3.02.

It's pretty stable. Not sure how the online works on Dolphin. No major glitches that I've encountered. Sometimes I just have problems starting the mode, so I have restart the Wii. But not a deal breaker for me.

The only instability I've had has been stuff I can't replicate, except for if you do an all Ice Climbers match the chance that things will crash becomes pretty high.

So don't do an all Ice Climbers match.

Much obliged!

at launch, I will borrow my gf 3ds(since she want it digital) to download it at midnight and play right after is done, and then after work I'll go for my physical copy at my local videogames store and we'll play until our faces melt or something

This. Buying a Japanese 3DS back in 2011 turned out to be a great investment.

Actually, how many of you are going digital for Smash 3DS? I'm going retail.

Retail for the US release, digital for the JP release. I tend to have a strict "No digital games if a physical version is already available" rule as that's the the form of media I prefer, but the prospect of playing Smash on the go ASAP is enough to make me relax that a bit.

Getting the 3DS version as soon as I can manage to. Hopefully at launch, but money's been unfortunately very tight for me in the past year or so and I might have to wait a bit. Which will drive me bananas, this is probably my most anticipated game of all time.

Have like $13 in Gamestop credit put towards it but that's all I've gotten so far. Had to sell most of my consoles and games over the past two years, so I've got nothing left to trade in towards it except for an Xbox 360 that I keep around just to play Rock Band 3 on and I don't want to part with that.

Being a broke college student animator is no fun, lemme tell ya'.

Sah, do you have your tournament set up?

In any case, please talk to Batty since he's running a 3DS tournament as well. There shouldn't be two tournaments running at the same time.

Man, I hope the Bash Sisters or Sah Tournament doesn't start quite at launch. I won't have proper speedy internet until like October 10th...if I'm lucky. Otherwise, November >_<

There better be monthly 3DS Tournaments OR ELSE! :(

I should be getting Smash day one. I just need to put a pre-order in.

I always leave things to the last minute.

Well I'm sure we can have short notice spontaneous tournaments to kill the time. Likely not very serious ones mind.

Mine came first and will be carried out first.

Mine is casual and will be within the two week launch window. It's for fun, really.

Retail because I get it for £27 rather than eShop's £39.99.

Yes, that's why you should talk to him. Yours is first but we haven't seen a list of participates, rules, characters allowed, etc. I realize the western release is the first week of Oct, but that is actually pretty soon since you need to hunt people down for their friend code, organize it, etc.

People just want to have fun, and you have stepped up to TO. That's great, but you need to update people on what's happening.

Going phyisical on both versions because a) collection, I love being able to have the disc etc. B) I don't trust Nintendo online thing, I'll end up buying the new 3ds and it'll be a pain in the ass to transfer the game after.

I'll prolly get Japanese digital thou if I get a Japanese 3ds this week

Really cool news, guys.

A little bit after posting about the voice chat stuff I got PM from a longtime lurker of SmashGAF named Devo and he's offered to host a server for us! He's apparently well versed in this kind of thing and is also in a position where this is not a big deal for him. I'm still debating between what service to use (I'm leaning towards TeamSpeak if different rooms is indeed a feature), but if this works out then that's our biggest hurdle crossed! Huge shout out to Devo for doing this!

Will update you guys as I figure out the specifics of everything.

I posted it even before watching the video... but lost ;_; I am sorry gaf, i am too slow for you.

*goes to finally see the analysis* :p

Sounds awesome! Sign me up for whenever this happens!

I have the Google Doc with all the willing participants.
