I open the thread and there's immediately a gif of a dude ogling a buxom animated Japanese school girl. I get that clever titles are a thing and that's hilarious, but I'd rather not have my coworkers think that I'm wanking to loli hentai in the middle of the day. When that guy icecream made threads about fanservice games, it was a lot easier to avoid. I'm not even at work (since it's a US holiday today), but some consideration for your fellow posters shouldn't take a back seat for a punchline.

Wow if that's realtime and in 3D that's some pretty impressive stuff even for a tech demo. I welcome any form of immersive VR, especially that's not an FPS (simply the laziest way to do it right now, not that there's anything inherently wrong with it).

Pretty much. This is a pretty innocuous piece of software with flirtatious undertones. There's some good criticism about games like this in the thread, but some are just insane, coming from a place of ignorance.
But this game isn't sexually exploitative at all. She's fully clothed, and you're not touching her or able to see her panties or anything. It's completely different from "loli hentai" and if you actually know what those words mean and don't realize that, I don't know what to say.

This is how I saw it. Obviously, there are some games from Japan worth raging at (Criminal Girls IMO comes to mind). This one didn't seem like one of those games though. Just seemed like a flirty, cute piece of software. For goodness sake's though, we haven't seen anything about the game, so anyone raging against it is doing so prematurely.
If the game ends up being awful and sexually exploitative, let's rage about it together. But until we know what this thing really is, let's just all wait and see.

It's still a game that explicitly contemplates that a player will be leering at a high school student, which they have both encouraged by purposefully giving her clothing that reveals cleavage, and rewarded by making her do an embarrassed pose when you do so. And that's just from the GIFs in the op.
But, to my original point, I thought it was interesting that your original reply to ShoNuff wasn't "this isn't exploitative!" but "get your exploitation terminology right!"
You're right, this game has a distinct lack of murder and torture. This is unacceptable.
I don't think it's exploitative at all. It's definitely flirty, but it's completely different from something like Criminal Girls. If you were to call that game loli hentai, you might have an argument.

So, is there a sliding scale? Sexualized imagery of a prepubescent character is unacceptable, but a lower level of sexualization of an underage character is ok as long as the character is post-pubescent? Then, once the character is 18, anything goes?

I know the game is not literally porn. A casual observer may not give someone the benefit of the doubt. The OP made the thread title intentionally cheeky because he knew the content within would at least be surprising. Pretending that this game isn't fanservice is pretty disingenuous. And I'd say that most fan service material would be NSFW, even if it's only teasing (like, say, Kill La Kill).

Are you implying that they all are equal? High school aged teens have been sexualized without much recourse in western media for as long as I can remember. The number of films that do this from thrillers to sex comedies are abundant to say the least.
