I could also record matches where I'm not competing in by self destructing at the start of the match. I might even be able to use the spectator mode depending on how it's set up.

Someone on GameFAQs has shown that the character select screen actually isn't random at all. Multi-rep series and one-rep series are separately listed in the order of their debut.

Coincidentally, after adding the four DLC characters I'm expecting the most (Wolf, Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, and Chorus Kids), everything still holds up:

I'm going to take a wild guess. What if Mii Fighters Icon isn't in CCS? What if that slot is for DLC button or other character?

My unlikely dream scenario is that the 3DS version gets two DLC packs/time release unlocks (this is Namco) in the next few months.

• September 13 - Japanese release of 3DS version
• Partners Pack (October) - Chorus Kids & Ice Climbers (with Rhythm Heaven stage, filling in the last empty spot on the stage select screen)
• Wild Beasts Pack (November) - Mewtwo & Wolf
• November/December - release of Wii U version

All four characters will be available from the start on Wii U. This allows Nintendo to avoid an info drought and reveal more characters up until the Wii U release.

I wouldn't get my expectation high for that schedule but it would be amazing if it's actually happening. I will be extremely pleased with the roster. It still suck to not see Lucas and Snake coming back.

Sami doesn't NEED to be a CO to units though She can use a bazooka, a machine gun, a grenade, etc. just as well as them. She could have a Down B that drops a bomb down from the top of the screen, a recovery that summons a rope ladder for her to hang onto as it rises (this is actually exceptionally similar to how Snake's worked, considering how different it is conceptually), and an FS where a Battleship lights up the stage.

Eh, besides the veteran cuts I hope DLC fixes, I'm cool with the roster we have being final. Still seems awkward having more KI and FE reps than DK or Metroid which got nothing in the way of newcomers, even after Other M and DKCTF bombing, but I loved both Uprising and Awakening so it's hard to get particularly upset about it.
