Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

I would bet my bottom dollar that if Black Shadow was introduced and had taken Ganondorfs clone moveset, conversely giving him a brand new one with swords and magic.

Then he would be the one clone character hardly anyone would ever bitch about.

I will never get what the big deal about Ganondorf being a Fist Wizard is. I like his moveset and I feel it's suitably beefy and brutal for him.

We complain about too many sword users in Smash but then go on to complain about Ganondorf not having a sword.

Im regards to cut vets, MK8 is reintroducing dry bowser with one of the (most likely four) dlc packs, so it wouldnt seem too farfetch'd to include each vet with a newcomer or two in various dlc packs, imo.

Unless I'm mistaken, these sounds were first used in Galaxy. I was way happy about the change to this after Sunshine. I can't believe he doesn't have this voice in Smash 4, though. That's crazy.

Yea, this bank has been used since Mario Galaxy. It's been in Mario Kart Wii, 7 and 8 as well. They also modify it to be Dry Bowser's voice.

I think it's actually been used in more games than any other version of Bowser's voice.

Camelot still seems to use his Sunshine voice in their games for whatever reason.

I thought Snake was cool but in a gimmick/throwaway character kind of way. He doesn't really jive with the other characters imo(playstyle-wise, artstyle-wise, theme-wise) so him being cut isn't a big deal to me because I never played him. I almost feel like the series would be more pure without him, if that makes sense. That said I thought he was a great fit for Brawl in the same way Mewtwo was a great fit for Melee.

I can understand this argument to a point. Some peoples feelings towards him are just radically different. He was definitely a surprise no one saw coming. My issue of snake only appearance is to ever be Brawl his legacy should continue in another character of were talking absolutely worst scenario talk. Obviously for me snake coming back is what I truly want codecs and all. But if something at Nintendo HQ or Konami is just preventing that and taking away the future of the character. The playstyle should live on.

Not Pikachu, unless there's a female alt.
And Lucario has a man voice too.

I'm kinda dissapointed that because we knew Shulk was gonna be in the game due to the leak, that mean less video reactions, less fanart, heck, even his announcement page only has like 13 pages, and I'm pretty sure other newcomers got way more than that.

Except he is slow and open to opp attacks and the new Bowser makes him look pathetic.

If a character is slow you have to make him strong. And so far judging off the leak nothing has changed to make Ganny better then the Brawling Bad version.

someday masked man
the world will know the horrible fury of our love

The world might not be able to handle the overwhelming passion of our Super Macho Smash Men duo, but we aren't obligated to conform to their standards, anyway.

For all you people have joined my tournament! Here are the brackets!

Super Bash Sisters Bracket

Hooray! Can't wait to give Fireblend a few good ♪La-lala-lala-la♪'s. ;)

This is fantastic, and I haven't even touched Xenoblade. Must...play!

But Bowser Jr is going to probably use his normal voice (I hope) and it'll just sound weird next to his father.

I sure as hell hope so, it's what I love about him. ^^

Not that I give a crap but theoretically all the pokemon are capable of being dual gender.

Thing is. I'm basing on obvious features and gender ratios.

Jigglypuff has a higher female ratio of 75% then the male 25%
All the starters have a higher male ratio. Plus obvious things like Lucario/Greninja having a masculine tone of voice.
Pikachu has a gender difference.

I have thought about this already. :P

Uhhh...over half of those are true to the source material. Not really sure how Lylat Cruise was "dark," either.

and Mushroomy Kingdom and WarioWare were effing brilliant.

It doesn't matter if they're true to their source material, though. That's the thing - like I said with Luigi's Mansion's stage, it is super true to its source material, but we've got a million stages that are dark. I want bright and colourful. Star Fox introduces Lylat Cruise - a great stage visually, but it diidn't need to be in space. It could have just as easily been visually similar to Corneria, or even Venom.

And neither Mushroomy Kingdom or WarioWare are brilliant by any means! WarioWare is nigh unplayable because it introduces random luck into battles to an extent that you don't see in other stages. You can actually win a Microgame, as I said in that post, and find yourself at a disadvantage because your opponent got a Starman while you got a Super Mushroom. All that happens is that the opponent can attack you risk-free, and you are now an easier target. As for Mushroomy Kingdom, it's drab, it's boring. It's an interesting concept, but it (ironically) needed more life to it. They just took SMB 1-1 and put Call of Duty filters over it. How about some overgrowth? What if this old kingdom had instead been overrun by plantlife? That'd be visually COOL!

Challenge Accepted J@hranimo .
I'm also not the best, but damn it I'm gonna have fun with it

Doctor Stiles!!!!!

We shall see ourselves on (possibly) the battlefield to see who is better with their Super Bash Sister!

Also I hope the PotD is About customized controls. It's the only menu update I care about.

Richard Doyle voiced the Fury? Considering the fate of
Solidus' corpse masquerading as
Big Boss' comatose body in MGS4, I can't help but be amused.

Just make the reward in Warioware the giant only and the stage is perfect.

Alternatively, a new stage with the same concept, but the only hazard are all the microgames. No reward for avoiding the hazard except for well...that.

Or use Xerneas and Victini's buffing mechanics instead.

That's a big problem yall are discussing. It's an issue because all of these characters had fairly to very unique playstyles. It's not like losing Pichu which is just the same as Pickahu except it hurt itself. Losing Snake means not only am I losing one of my favorite video game characters, I'm also losing literally my favorite designed character playstyle in Smash.

I'm sure players of the other cuts feel the same way. I also really loved playing as Wolf. And so far there have been no characters that look like they're going to fill those gap for them.

In a series known for attention to detail and lovig affection of a lot of Nintendo's history, Ganondorf's moveset stands out.

Also, different people complaining about different things, I presume.

So wait, the rumor about the DLC being Lucas, Snake, Wolf, Ice Climbers, and Chorus Men isn't true? I've seen posts saying it is and isn't, so I'm not sure if it was actually a true part of the leak or not. Darn shame to lose ICs if that's the case.

Crazy rhymes with lazy

But....is it really laziness? I feel like it's more of a choice. I mean, I feel like that Shulk trailer solidified that Sakurai WANTS Bowser to sound more like generic dragon rather than using his regular voice. Maybe he thinks it doesn't suit his Smash style or something, I dunno. But they went through all that effort to revamp him properly.....just without the voice :

Grass is a hilarious item, but it really just sort of... fits as a Zelda item. It's been in every Zelda game and is a part of those games and actually represents the series well.

Just so strange. I don't think anyone thought of Zelda Grass as an item.

It could also work as a Pokemon item, which, in contrast to the Master Ball, would only summon incredibly common Pokemon.

It's not true, but I bet we're getting a DLC among the same lines anyway.

I guess they don't want to scare children with awesome voices? Then again they went out of their way to give Metal Face his epic English voice.

I think Wolf got a bad rep because people saw two of his specials and his final smash and wrote him off as a clone, not even noticing he's not a clone at all. I imagine some people will just feel like he was cut like Pichu and Roy were, because they were clones and not worth bringing back.

Doc being back though, gives hope we'll see some of them back for Smash 5. They're not really going to have quite as many characters to make new comers out of for 5, so maybe they'll bring back close to everyone.

I really hope Snake is DLC. Snake is my second favorite video game character, only behind Wario. Them being in the same game is pretty crazy for me.

I was expecting him to be cut though. Not really much you can do, except wait for the possible DLC. (Which I reaaaaallly want to happen, by the way.)

Woke up, what happened?

Anyway I've bothered as to why people are saying "IT'S SHULK TIME" when I don't hear it in the trailer... until I realized it's the one I keep hearing as "Now it's short time".

A good chunk of Star Fox takes in space and the whole concept revolves around spaceships, so I don't really get the complaint about the stage taking place in space...?

Regardless, I expect it back as a past stage in the Wii U version.

You can actually win a Microgame, as I said in that post, and find yourself at a disadvantage because your opponent got a Starman while you got a Super Mushroom. All that happens is that the opponent can attack you risk-free, and you are now an easier target.

That's hysterical. It's a non-serious stage for a reason.

How about some overgrowth? What if this old kingdom had instead been overrun by plantlife? That'd be visually COOL!

Different strokes, I suppose. I dig the ruins in the background and I'd like to think an abandoned wasteland better reflects that idea than the one you presented. Peach's all-star ending picture where she and Mario excitedly stumble across the decayed building is also one of my personal favorites in the series ("Hey, I remember that!").

Honestly--and no offense--but this whole "arrgghhhh none of this realistic stuff in Smash!!" mentality is getting to grate on me. :/

Haha, I was hearing the same thing until I found out what he was actually saying :p

We really don't know, but for the sake of our collective mental health, it's probably better to assume the worst (but hope for the best).

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa...WHOA. I can't let that one slide.

Someone should tell Prinny HW Impa is a upgraded SS Impa. Upgrades from ugly Oocoo to Shiekah Ninja Warrior.

I just saw this Hyrule Warriors concept art, and all I can say is that I WANT THAT SHIEK ALT COLOR SO BADLY. Also long haired Impa and Valkyrie Zelda are awesome.

If we are lucky these will be DLC costumes.
