THAT LANA IS SO CUTE WHY COULDN'T THAT HAVE BEEN THE FINAL DESIGN

I just saw this Hyrule Warriors concept art, and all I can say is that I WANT THAT SHIEK ALT COLOR SO BADLY. Also long haired Impa and Valkyrie Zelda are awesome.

I'm happy we got the Impa that we did, but that Ganondorf design is much better than the one in the final game, weird expression aside. He's a much more theatrical kind of ridiculous than the berserker we ended up getting - it actually kind of reminds me a little of that high-collared Oracle Ganondorf design.

A good chunk of Star Fox takes in space and the whole concept revolves around spaceships, so I don't really get the complaint about the stage taking place in space...?

Regardless, I expect it back as a past stage in the Wii U version.

That's hysterical. It's a non-serious stage for a reason.

Different strokes, I suppose. I dig the ruins in the background and I'd like to think an abandoned wasteland better reflects that idea than the one you presented. Peach's all-star ending picture where she and Mario excitedly stumble across the decayed building is also one of my personal favorites in the series ("Hey, I remember that!").

Honestly--and no offense--but this whole "arrgghhhh none of this realistic stuff in Smash!!" mentality is getting to grate on me. :/

1. You're completely and utterly missing my point though. Lylat Cruise is awesome in a game that isn't overflowing with stages that use dark, washed-out, or boring appearances.

2. Hysterical? Sorry, I guess WarioWare fans should feel bad for wanting a stage that can be played like Smash and not some mini-game collection. Punch-Out!! doesn't force you to do a one-on-one fight, Animal Crossing doesn't force you to trade items, yet WarioWare must have microgames ruining the fight and - like I said - punishing you for being unlucky?

3. Mushroomy Kingdom is a great conceot, as I said. It's something neat to think about. It's miserable to play on.

I wonder who will voice Ganondorf this time though. We have OoT/WW guy, TP guy, or HW guy.

I'm rooting for HW guy though. He voices the JP version of Goliath from Gargoyles. And I like Gargoyles. A lot.

I think if Impa stays relevant in the Zelda series (and continues to be a Sheikah and not an old woman again), I think she'll absolutely be a new comer in Smash 5. Probably one of the earlier ones announced as well.

Zelda hasn't had a proper new comer since Melee.

I don't think she'll be DLC this time around. There's too many important cut reps left and some stragglers like Chorus Boys to fill that right now, but in Smash 5, it will happen.

They planned on going a lot farther with that concept. Still, Valkyrie Zelda would've been a great thing to see.

Let's hope it shows up in the sequel. We haven't seen all of Musou Zelda's reign yet.

Aren't Link and Zelda still using the voice clips from Brawl? I'd expect it to stay the same - after all, what else has changed about Ganondorf?

Wanna know something funny. If you select Ganondorf on Brawl with the Wiimote it makes a Whooooyah! sound clip from Melee/OoT Dorf.

She's had many different appearances in the series so far. Even though SS Impa is my favourite of her designs, I'd rather they kept trying new things with her age and body type instead of keeping her as that specific kind of character for the forseeable future.

That's a big problem yall are discussing. It's an issue because all of these characters had fairly to very unique playstyles. It's not like losing Pichu which is just the same as Pickahu except it hurt itself. Losing Snake means not only am I losing one of my favorite video game characters, I'm also losing literally my favorite designed character playstyle in Smash.

I'm sure players of the other cuts feel the same way. I also really loved playing as Wolf. And so far there have been no characters that look like they're going to fill those gap for them.

I know the pain. Shame other people don't.
Oh snakes just snake whatever not much of a loss. Tsk to all of them.

Let's talk bosses for a minute. I wanna see some of the big bads from Kirby as boss battles. Preferably Soul versions. I think they would be pretty boss if you would pardon the pun.

And yet the background details are some of the best in the game.

I get what you're arguing, but I can't really get behind it when I find stuff like that and Halberd to be some of the best aesthetic displays in the game.

Wow, did I word that poorly. I meant hysterical as in the scenario you provided.

Okay.

I'm going to stick with my incorrect guess last night and go with either Link or Ness tonight. But I'm expecting at least one completely-out-of-left-field Top 10 pick and 9 is as good a spot as any for that to appear.

Hey Smashgaf, finally got my account validated and am happy to join the ride now after lurking from thread 1! The hype is real and praise Sakurai!

First day on GAF as well, came here first.

*high five*

On topic: has it been mentioned how many times Robin can use each spell/sword before it expires? And it of course is for every life not every match right?

That's not really a hysterical situation; it is not uncommon to find yourself with a Super Mushroom against someone who can now kick your butt really, really hard without punishments. They can knock you off stage and safely edge guard. It wouldn't be so bad if winning a Microgame gave everyone Starmen, or Super Mushrooms. Hell, it certainly didn't help that the possible items were so limited! What if there were a selection of the game's better items as rewards? Imagine

Win a Microgame? All winners get Poké Balls!
Win a Microgame? Golden Hammers that have guaranteed damage output)!
Win a Microgame? Beam Swords for everyone!

It's going to be Game &

Watch.

FTFY (though honestly the fact that both are probably secret means that we are both probably wrong)

To be completely truthful, there's one thing that's been a letdown about this new Smash Bros. I'm cool with the roster, I'm cool with the assist trophies, the stages we're getting are all pretty good, the customization looks neat, the soundtrack seems fantastic, but...

There's no N64 stages. Melee stages and Brawl stages are good. But man I miss Dreamland 64 and that abstract looking level with the shifting platform floating above Peach's Castle. Here's hoping the Wii U version has some deeper throwbacks to the series' first entry.

Bio
Kirby is, fittingly, the protagonist of the Kirby series. He made his first appearance in Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy as a placeholder, created by Masahiro Sakurai, for the game's early development; since then, he has starred in over 20 games, ranging from basic platformers to pinball and even racing games. Kirby is famous for his ability to inhale objects and creatures and obtain their attributes, as well as his ability to float with puffed cheeks. He uses these abilities to rescue various lands, such as his home world of Dream Land, from evil forces and antagonists, such as Dark Matter or Nightmare. These adventures often cross with his infamous rivals, King Dedede and Meta Knight. In virtually all his appearances, Kirby is depicted as a cheerful, innocent, food loving, yet fearless being, always bold and brave.

What NeoGAF Says
“Outside of just being a perfect fit for Smash Bros. (which was born from Kirby Super Star's mechanics), Kirby has an effective yet simple moveset, a fun gimmick with his copy abilities, he's the easiest to pick up and play and probably the most adorable character on the roster.” - Berordn

“I've had fun using Kirby since Melee. All those cute little hats, too!” - Shadow Hog

“It was the first character I ever played with and it's a ton of fun to play, IMO.” - Fireblend

“Stealing your enemies abilities makes every battle different.” - kirby_fox

“Some of my favorite game series.” - sorakirosaki

“Kirby, I think, is the most charming character in Smash. Between his down-B and his various Copy Ability hats, Kirby's always fun to watch. His side-B, forward smash, and his throws are all a lot of fun to use, too.” - The Great Gonzales

“Hats, lots of hats.” - Platy

“King of adorable.” - kelpplankton

“Kirby's my favorite Nintendo character ever. He's an adorable pink puffball who's supremely powerful, maybe more powerful than any other character in the Nintendo universe. HE CAN PUNCH PLANETS IN HALF. He's a total G. What's not to love?” - MaverickHunterAsh
