Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

So the lock of truth will either bring us great joy...or curshing disappointment. Sakurai still have some secrets I see lol.

I think the best way to approach this is to be cautiously hopeful, i.e. expect the leaked roster being the final one, but hope that it isn't.

We still haven't seen one with all the Mii characters. I know customization was turned off, but the starting roster lacked them too.
Just really curious to see how they integrated them into the CSS~

Was the way you select Miis in the leak separate from the CSS? If they're on the CSS, I can't all three Miis fitting on the bottom screen section.

Remember guys, it's very likely that Allstar was unlocked by the time the final roster seen in the video was shown. It's probably the final roster.

That being said... So going by that one original add we had from the commercial... Is Pit unlockable? Weren't there a few characters that were missing for some reason?

Just so you are aware, the UK release date will not take Black Friday into account.
I know, but if they're going for a release on the same day as with MK it would make sense.

Was Pokemon delayed? Sorry for the ignorance, but I don't own a 3DS so don't follow the news so closely.

So apparently someone found a way to reduce landing Lag in the E3 demo:

Hope it's true!
I hope it works, like they say and you can speed-up the landing lag with a another well-timed action (besides jumping). This would be much better then L-Canceling ever was, because there is now a risk element to it. You have to chose the action and wait for the shorten lag to end. This means you obligate yourself to your next action. If you read your opponent wrong, he tricked you or predict your choice in advance, he has the chance to outmaneuver and penalize you.

This would be a much better system then L-Canceling, since it is an much easier and more naturally input and has more depth to it, thanks to a risk-and-reward system.

I was told this was a thread filled with hand holding and singing!

HAHAHAHA! Yeah, I saw that post.

The cat avatar made me think this was SmithnCo.

Yep, same here.

Cool tourney players are cool

Asshole tourney players are assholes

Pretty much. It's better that way rather than being generalization.

When do you think we'll have an official OT for the 3DS version?

This Saturday but it might be little late.

A week before NA launch.

Actually, supposedly this Saturday.

Is that OT going to be the one which will not be spoiler free for NA/EU 3DS owners?

Well it's an OT, so it will be as spoiler free as any other OT. There were talks that we could include unlock methods in the OP with names of what it unlocks spoiler tagged since most resourced won't do that.

Now that MK has DLC coming, what's the likelihood of Smash Bros seeing additional characters and stages post-release? I'm not talking about the alleged DLC with Wolf etc, more the opportunity in general considering the factors that would need to be considered to add a new fighter as opposed to a new racer.

I'd say high. Mario Kart and this are clearly to be evergreen titles that will continue with good sales throughout the life of their consoles. As such, they'll want to keep support going for a while.

That's my theory as to why there are gaps of 6 months with the MK8 DLC. Bring it out every 6 months to get attention back.

It's very possible.

Pic of the day. This time, you can challenge every fighter in All-Star Mode from the moment you turn on the game!! This is a survival battle with limited recovery items and no option to continue. However, this mode will be incomplete until you've unlocked every fighter... Until then, you can only play against characters that are already available. This is a picture of the bottom-screen menu, with a padlock indicating that the mode is still incomplete.

In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!

Whoa, that's interesting. I wonder if there is benefit if we decided to do All Stars before unlocking anyone?

Still rather shocked about 8 getting dlc so i'd say pretty high now.

Not entirely sure about stages, but I'm absolutely expecting DLC characters. For what it's worth Gematsu's source reckons it's happening, MK8 is already getting a ton of it and the large amount of veteran cuts would make more sense if it turned out they were held back for downloadable content while newcomers got priority.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ESRB roster confirmed for incomplete.

I saw this message and other people's hypes.

I think it might be best to keep thinking that leaked roster to be final numbers at launch. I would hate to see people being disappointing if it does ended up that way.

It could be good news or not. Sakurai love to playing with his fanbase. It's like a cat playing with mouse before cat eat the mouse.

This made me really happy! I've never understood why there has to be a hate between competitive players and non-competitive, everyone enjoyed Melee, it was as good as brawl for casual people, it just got mastered and turned out to be a great competitive game.

If this one ends up satisfying both kind of players again... what's wrong with that?

Ganondorf comes out and attacks, then gets sealed away again so he's not really lived for 1000 years, just about 10-15 of being an adult as he keeps getting owned.

Unless like Link and Zelda, Ganondorf is just a different Gerudo male every time, but the gerudo males are destined
by the end of Skyward sword
to be Ganondorf.

Ganondorf having the Triforce of Power makes him effectively immortal. And has existed for at least a 100 years if Wind Waker gives any credence. But he isn't the oldest character to exist, definitely older then Tingle though.

Unlike Link and Zelda, Ganondorf Dragmire up until I think Four Swords has been the same guy.
