In the wake of Quinngate and Sarkesiangate, Videogamer's Chris Bratt rightfully calls out all the dirty do-gooders in the gaming omniverse ruining our favourite hobby by looking for 'equality' and all that soppy, left wing hippy bullshit. Gaming is fine as it is!

We shall accept this SJW tyranny no more! Rise my brethren, take back what was one ours! Gaming shall not die!!

Edit: I'm not really good at sarcasm, pls don't hurt me

i got nine seconds in. is that the record?

edit: oh okay, it's not being serious, but i still don't understand what's happening or why. i mean in general.

Since it seems to be misunderstood; I just thought I'd inform you that the term "Social Justice Warrior" is a sarcastic one.
Its how some people might call an invading for "liberators" sarcastically.

I didn't watch the video and I don't plan on jumping into the discussion on the topic at hand but I thought I would help clear up a bit of the apparent confusion on the actual meaning of the term.

Just the thought of equality makes my blood boil.

I was so sure this would be a Jim Sterling video :(

Edit: Every single video on the internet should be have someone with a british accent.

Nice try, but he's not a Matt Lees. His delivery is off and he's just not getting his satire across just as good as Lees.

I had never heard the phrase SJW till yesterday.

From now on I will not be taking serious any poster that uses it in earnest.

Pretty terrible satire to be honest.

Considering how the peanut gallery has been acting as late with the conspiracy theorists about a game journalism AND forum mods black out on the topic or the death threats to people they disagree with, they need something like this.

The underlying point that a lot of games can be fun when you aren't being an anti-social bad ass is very relevant.

you joke but we have a lot of these mra/ anti swj nuts even here on gaf

after that last thread... woof

also that video isn't particularly good

I'm guessing he realised this was a bad idea by the time he gets to Masterchief, sounds like he's mentally questioning if he should give up.

This clearly wasn't a good idea. There are just somethings we don't do. Not all jokes even with the intent of sarcasm are in good taste. This just happens to be one of those moments.

Edit: Well I did read the OP, and watched the video partially. I stopped when I reached the Grey Warden guy though if that's any contribution to this.

Got a link? :/

Also, slightly unrelated, but could someone tell me who this thunderf00t guy is? I saw him get a few mentions back at the beginning of all this and now I've seen a video about Sarkesian his appear on my YouTube feed but I don't feel like giving it a click.

Maybe I've been away from the internet a while, but when did "Social Justice" become a slur?

It was one of the mottos of my alma mater.

A joke will find taste in different company and context. Obviously this isnt the funniest thing, but I hold the fact that almost anything can be funny in correct context.

it's the one about the crazies who threatened to go to anita sarkeesians house and rape her, and the insane people who defended the crazies

thunderfoot is an internet youtube "celeb" who is a misogynstic neckbeard. he rants about atheism and anti-feminism and for some reason there are people who actually think he's intelligent and worth listening to.

im guessing right around the time when right wing think tanks and libretarianism got into my video gaming

I agree with this point. Perhaps I'm not seeing this topic in a specific angle.

I really don't care much for the SJW battle going with the 4chan and recent Twitter brigade thing going on.

My take on the whole "Gaming is dying", it just seems rather bollocks to me.

If I can sit down at the end of the day, put the controller in my hands and ultimately have fun. Then gaming has served it's purpose as that outlet for my entertainment needs.

Sure, some may want to evolve the media to a greater plateau, but I care little for all the politicking.

Since someone mentioned Matt Lees, he did some entertaining observations about the Vivian James hilarity:

Matt Lees @Jam_sponge · 15h

Can't get over that 4chan *invented* a woman to prove they weren't sexist. "I'm not racist, some of my best drawings are of black people."

Matt Lees @Jam_sponge · 15h

If you claim to champion women and yet the only woman you're really championing is a drawing of a woman: lol
