It would be strange for only one newcomer to not have a trailer. I'm anticipating Bowser Junior and the Koopalings, and if we see DHD in a trailer it would probably be release week.
It seems weird to think there will be no character announcements after the 13th. Maybe there WILL be characters that are date locked until the Wii U release so Sakurai can keep surprising us.

dumb question, but i guess any 3rd party character used in the game, that company gets paid a certain amount by Nintendo/sales or some other agreement?
I really need their reveal trailers ASAP. I want a smash 3DS Direct that opens w/ bowser Jr, closes /w duck hunt, shows off classic mode, bomba mode, etc, and maybe reveals some missing veterans. I need it this week.
I'm thinking Bowser Jr.'s trailer might feature Dr. Mario also. Something along the lines of the koopalings getting in some mayhem, unleashing a final smash on Bowser, who lands in Dr. Mario's office.

Then the Duck Hunt trailer features R.O.B and is styled like an old-school 80's NES commercial.

Probably no royalties are paid to third party companies. Smash is valuable advertising. Disney didn't have to pay anybody for Wreck it Ralph, for example.
Exposure is valuable.
I want Sakurai to reference Sunshine and try to beat Mario in the trailer because he's bigger.
I imagine more Duck Hunt dog bringing a duck to Dr. Mario to fix him up
Hard to say really. It's one of those situations that's pretty beneficial to both parties.
I like to imagine that it's a mutual agreement. Third party characters get the best advertising that could possibly exists, while Nintendo gets another bullet point to hype up Smash with.
In Sonic's case, my impression was always that they allowed Sonic in Brawl and Nintendo allowed Mario in the Mario and Sonic games.
I recall Sakurai saying all of the newcomers will get a trailer. It's just a question of how they'll be revealed. Personally, I think it'd be smart for Sakurai to show Bowser Jr. right around launch. If the rumor is correct, Bowser Jr. has all seven Koopalings as alts (and it appears that way, since in the leak there was a trophy of Larry in the Clown Car). Imagine the huge wave of hype created by a trailer featuring Bowser Jr. and all seven Koopalings.
This is what I think, as well. (Along with an update that confirms the Koopalings are his alts, if they don't appear in that trailer, as well.)
One last push from a requested favorite newbie to have hype at a fever pitch before Japanese release would be something that I think makes sense. Duck Hunt Dog, who was likely going to be the "surprise retro pick" (a la G&W and ROB before him), probably won't get a trailer of his own.

Only thing harder would be the reminder that I cancelled my original Smash 3DS import plans, because I wanted to wait for that New Smash 3DS LL pack-in in October...

I just realised the main problem Smash 3DS will have for me u.u
My friend can't afford to buy it in the end, his 3DS got stolen. I can't play with him on a 3DS version and the fun of Smash was usually inviting some friends over to play... The portable form is kind of limiting that absolutely to only fans that will spend that money.
I guess it'll have to be CPU smash run.

Hmm I rarely use the female characters in smash so this wil be a good learning experience. Not sure if I should use peach samus or zero suit samus

I refuse to pick the 'popular' ones. I'm hoping Wendy is in the game so I can use her, otherwise it'll be something like Robin.
I wonder if we'll get more alt costumes that change the name. Like... if we got roll as a mega man clone (even though it doesn't fit canonically).
I main Link/Toon link, so I basically suck with most other characters.
