We'll be lucky to make it to Japan's launch day during this thread, once the early copies start rolling out in Japan and people get videos and pics online this train's going to kick into high gear.

There's always "accidental" sales like half a week in advance in Japan. Every single time.

Well, it's possible that someone's theory could happens that they would trying to hyping up Wii U by holding back few characters so they can release DLC characters on same days as Wii U's release date. Is it worthy to get hype over that?

After the 13th Sakurai will completely ignore the 3DS except for the occasional two or so screen-shots of it when he reveals the hidden characters.

Which is why I don't understand Nintendo not wanting to announce all of the characters before the early sales poor in.

Really? It always seemed to me Japan was pretty tight, like only like a few days or so like with Pokemon and Brawl.

Now if Smash was a worldwide release like XY, we probably would've already had someone get the game.
 
So… just out of curiosity, who would you guys say are the 10 most iconic/notable Nintendo characters yet to be playable in Smash Bros.? Here’s my list, not in any particular order:


  1. Toad
  2. Dixie Kong
  3. Too many Pokémon to name (Meowth, Eevee, Blaziken, etc.)
  4. Nintendog
  5. Dr. Kawashima
  6. Isabelle (and other Animal Crossing characters like K.K. Slider and Tom Nook)
  7. Excitebiker
  8. Balloon Fighter
  9. King K. Rool
  10. Ridley

January 31st, 2008. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has officially gone on sale in Japan. Is everybody having fun with it?

However, Smash won’t come out in North America for a bit and sadly, Europe has an even longer wait until the game releases.

For the past eight months or so, Smash Dojo has served as a source of basic information for the game, but with the release of Brawl, the Dojo will take on a new role.

From here on out, the Dojo will begin to introduce the hidden characters, hidden stages, and additional features in Brawl that have gone unmentioned until now. I’d like to continue to add on to the Dojo so that players of Brawl can come back to this website following it’s completion and view Smash Dojo as a sort of guide for the game.

I plan on continuing updates for another two months, so please continue to enjoy the site.

Just remember, I’ll be posting information on hidden characters and other in-game secrets, so you should take caution when viewing the site if you want to save those surprises for later.

POTD for Smash 3DS might just be a picture of the box or something with a small note about it being released, and to take cover from spoilers for the international fans.

It's not a surprise that most of the screenshots focus on the Wii U version. Not only is it prettier, but the 3DS version will sell on it's own momentum amongst the very large 3DS userbase. The Wii U version is going to rely much more heavily on new console purchases and people getting their friends to play it enough that they want a Wii U to play it on at their own home too. It's a harder sell, so they need to make it look like it's the more full-featured and prettier version.

Smash 3DS just has to be a good game. Smash Wii U has to be a system seller.

I'd say a huge amount of the 1st gen Pokémon are some of the most are most iconic characters Nintendo have but they aren't all getting on the rooster, no way.

Tom Nook is, also, way more iconic than Isabelle.

Of this list I would probably say Toad
 
The PoTD for the release day is going to be him coming out and saying him and his team were the leakers, and that they even made the fake leaks to throw people off.....

Something seems a little off there...

Probably that helmet. I couldn't really reconcile it with the much more distinctive design the visor received in the suit's Echoes and Corruption variants.
