Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

Also, I would have initially said Zero Suit Samus would benefit from being re-recorded, but considering what we might get in exchange, I'd easily take Alesia Glidewell's mediocre Brawl lines over the possibility of the unending horror posed by Jessica Martin directed by Sakamoto. Though in fairness, we've never heard the latter when performing under a director who can actually speak English.
I still can't believe that the second Samus actually got lines they replaced Jennifer Hale

I know it's a cliche at this point, but irrational hope can only hurt you.

I know there's no way in hell Ridley is playable (unless that "leak" about the Wii U 4v1 boss mode is legit - what ever came of that?), but I will say that even if that is Ridley's shadow (which it totally is) that alone doesn't really deconfirm him. Look at Toon Link/Spirit Train.

People have forgotten the original 151 Pokemon? LMAO Um... no, I hope you're joking, but in case you aren't: Leading a role doesn't make you more iconic than the members of a game that has become a huge part of pop-culture. So stop dictating your opinion as fact.
Yeah, I forgot about the annual Seel parades they have cos it's such an iconic Pokémon.

Seriously, I was half tipsy last night and even then I could work out how silly the argument was. 1. It was originally put forward as a joke, I'm surprised someone actually jumped on it and started defending it. 2. You're arguing for 151(!) characters here from the same game. Many get overshadowed within that same game and become just another Pokémon of the 600+ species we have today. That's why it's easy to say a leading character will automatically be more iconic, because they never have the risk being forgotten about in the game they star in..
And here's the cruncher. It is far far far far far easier to remember the name of one character compared to 151. We're talking 15+ years for people who only played the first Pokémon and moved on. Good luck getting them to list all 151 off the top of their head.

So yes, as my yesterday self proclaimed, this is not an opinion, it is the only logical conclusion there is.

If someone gets so many speed boosts that they can't see where they're going and wind up smacking head-on into one of those "danger zones", I'm going to say that such a person was on the highway to the danger zone.

POTD:
Oh nice so these are finals instead of battles, right?
That's very cool!
Smash run's going to be tons of fun, since I doubt these are all the possibilities there are. :D

Woah, I go on a diablo 3 binge for 10 hours and there's a new thread with 1500 posts.

Something happen, or are you guys just going insane?

Or both?

Tiny Kong is actually the Earth Prime version of Dixie Kong, that's why she suddenly looked way older when she showed up years later; time moves at a different rate on her version of Donkey Kong Island.

this lore is deep

Damn, I gotta get me some of the crystal coconuts you've been eating. Your world sounds glorious.

Also why do they have fur sleeves, is it just clothing, are they all just wearing jackets?

Also why did King K Rool want DK's Bananas in the first game? Better yet, why don't they go stale? A stockpile as big as DKs must have been sitting around for awhile.

Nothing has happened, but things are happening. It's a constant state of anticipation and flux, flavoured by the knowledge that the retail version of a new Smash Bros. game is growing closer and closer, until we can rip into its soft, tender flesh and show its innards to the world.

They're bananas that defy the laws of gravity. Why would they then comply to our rules of freshness?

Boss characters as playable characters in the Wii U version sounds extremely believable. I mean, the leak could easily be fake, but that sounds like exactly what Sakurai would do to take advantage of the Game Pad. Ridley, K. Rool, Petey Piranha, Porky, Dark Matter, etc. would be amazing.

Everything's in your favor this time, it'd be pretty ridiculous if you were to lose again :lol
I can hope! I already have your avatar picked out just in case.

Thank you! Did I tell you I love your avatar, I mean, I don't like it but I can't stop staring at it, and when I read your user that shit instantly shows up in my mind
No kidding. It reminds me of something from Uzumaki.

"GOOD GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO MY AVATAR!?"

"Oh....." TT__TT

I guess you guys already talked this through, but what is the latest we could hear about the release date for the Wii U version?

We have known about the release date for the 3DS version for a while and Nintendo will have to marketing blitz the Wii U version, if they want to get it out by mid November.
So what do you think? Mid October? Do you think there is still the possibility to push it to 2015?

Nah, october's practically reserved for the 3DS version, November is probably where it's at. And no, I don't expect any ridiculous delay because they've already announced amiibos coming out along with the WiiU version this year, and amiibos will NEVER get delayed, they're Nintendo's strong card this holiday season

I just got a look at the latest Famitsu, so here is all the new-ish information about Shulk!

  • Neutral Special: Monado Arts - kanji appears behind Shulk, press button to change to a different art (stance), every boost is counterbalanced by a debuff (*see below)
  • Side Special: Back Slash - swings his extended blade down on the opponent, wide-ranged attack but leaves Shulk wide open, deals more damage when striking opponent from behind
  • Up Special: Air Slash - slices upward while jumping, press button again to perform an extra attack
  • Down Special: Vision - use the Monado's clairvoyant powers to read the opponent's attack and deliver a counterstrike, window of usability decreases with each successive use
  • Final Smash: Chain Attack - scene cuts away, Dunban and Riki appear on-screen, Shulk and his comrades unleash a series of attacks against the opponent(s) directly in front of them
*List of Monado Arts:
  • 翔 (Jump): higher jumps, lower defense
  • 疾 (Speed): faster movement, weaker attacks
  • 盾 (Shield): higher defense, slower movement
  • 斬 (Buster): stronger attacks, weaker launch ability
  • 撃 (Smash): stronger launch ability, weaker attacks, lower defense against launching

Sorry for the delay, I had to move on from my original position when the Illumnati homed in on my signal. The One True Order does NOT want you to see this!!

The DK crew are actually deformed humans wearing the fur of the island's original inhabitants, which is why some Kongs like Dixie somehow have natural blonde hair. Years of living on this remote tropical climate have metamorphosed them into the characters we have today.

K. Rool suffers from a severe potassium deficiency and suffers from such an extreme form of social anxiety to just ask DK for a share of his bananas, hence the need to change identities from game to game.

They don't go stale because they're made of plastic.

DK has retractable teeth.

Lanky Kong is a reformed Manky Kong.

Candy Kong is a mutated Pauline.

Stanley the Bugman is the long lost third Mario brother.

The Mirror sometimes lies.

Barrel Blast isn't very good.

WAKE UP SHEEPLE
