Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

My parents were the type of people who would ban Pokémon from my house because it was supposedly anti-God and it promoted cock-fighting. You guys have it easy.

Please don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* bayonetta, top 20 games of all time, one of 2 games I got all 1000 Achievements on 360. I love her as a character, I think she's wonderful. Putting her in smash just means my girlfriend won't approve. Especially if she's kept the way she is in her games. If she's toned down, then maybe she'll approve, but that's a disappointment because that's NOT who bayonetta is. Sakurai is pretty good at representing characters, and it'd be a shame to see a 'tame' bayonetta.
 
I don't want Bayo because she'd be a flavor of a month character that has no chance of returning and is far from iconic as a third party character. Plus having two Sega reps would kinda bug me. Even worse, if they were to go for another Sega rep, Bayo shouldn't even be on the table before so many other great Sega IPs.
 
I know nothing about Bayonetta, and have basically been ignoring it...

But I just played DMC for the first time and now I'm in the mood for more "Character Action" games, so I might pick it up eventually...to be honest, it intimidates me, not just because of the weird sex stuff, but watching footage of it makes me dizzy.

Bayonetta is pretty much one of the best character action games ever made, directed by the man who created the original Devil May Cry. So yeah, if you're looking for more, you should pick it up without question.
 
I wish they didn't release Bath Time so early, because I know no other track is going to top it.

Also in exactly eight days I will be playing Smash holy shit.

well never said you were wrong in doing so. My case is the strange one since I'm from the US and my parents tried to ban Dynasty Warriors since it was apparently too violent even with no blood.
 
If Bayo 3 end up being a multiplatform game if it ever happens.

Bayo will be right by Dead Rising in the weirdest series exclusivity

Ridley is just weird in this picture. I'm pretty confident that the roster from the ESRB vid is all we are getting, but in the direct, you can tell that the shadow is not much bigger than Pikachu. So if Ridley isn't playable then its a pretty...small boss. So odd.

I don't remember a game that they had took away from me, thou the most "adult" game that I played back then is Resident Evil lol

as for bayonetta, I need that game, I mean if you have a Wii U, why the hell not? looks fun

Bayonetta was super niche with middle to low success and Bayonetta 2 will tank hard thanks to being on Wii U.
If anything, the next Bayonetta will be console exclusive again for whoever decides to rescue it, again.

Her anatomy is deliberately and consistently exaggerated. You don't have to like it, but it's not a mistake that she has ridiculously long legs and a tiny head.
 
My mom played Wolfenstein 3D in front of me and wouldn't stop after I told her the soldiers scared me. Seeing her fight Machine Gun Hitler scarred me >_>

IMO there's a distinction to be made between games children should absolutely not be exposed to (because of excess of violence, sexual content, etc) and games that can be discussed with them beforehand so that they learn about why culture rewards those themes and come to their own conclusions regarding the dangers of blindly consuming entertainment without being conscious of those failings. I'm not a fan of censorship and myself am very conscious about how women and minorities are portrayed in the entertainment I consume, and would put Smash, if Bayonetta appeared in it, in the second category.

I do agree it's a very subjective thing though, and it also depends on the child's circumstances (age, maturity, etc) that only a parent would be able to assess correctly.

Here's another final battle called "Climb!" Obviously, those that can jump or fly higher will have the advantage, but they also have to avoid the danger zones!! It gets pretty challenging if you've boosted your speed too much, as well. Everyone really gets into this when playing multiplayer.

Speaking of ridiculous reasons for not wanting characters in Smash, I feel like I remember someone ages ago on a different forum arguing they didn't want Birdo in Smash (in any form) because they didn't want to have to explain what a transexual is to their kids.
