Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

The three third party characters are the most iconic video game characters ever. Megaman practically owes his existence to Nintendo. Pacman is a personal favorite of Miyamoto. And obviously one is Sonic.

Bayonetta can't even come close to any of those three. At all. Geno probably has a better shot in smash than her, and he doesn't have any chance at all of even being a trophy.

Has anybody got a launch day plan ready?

Mine's go to college, do two hours there, rush home in the afternoon, see my Amazon packaging waiting for me.

Go on GAF, hype it up, open it, and play. ;3

But how much longer will be she be a third party is the question. Nintendo may buy the IP.

Georly gets it. But does he really get it?

I get why kids like cinnamon toast crunch, at least.

Hopefully, drive up to Detroit for The Big House 3 and kick everyone's asses in the new game.

Oh, so you just have a very, uh, flexible definition of the term "all stars".

When I say all stars I talk about franchises, reps can vary a lot with time as they get new entries, like Fire emblem.

Shulk was the strange thing being so young, even Sakurai said he is not the kind of character they usually put in Smash.

This is exactly what people were saying about Wonder Red a year ago.

Sakurai decided the roster 2 years ago. She is not even a Nintendo character yet. I don't think they pressure him like that for advertising, this is not PASBR xD

Debating whether to go to work or use time off. Not sure yet. But I'm getting 2 copies so me and my little one can play together. She's already counting down.

Midnight release yo, then play all day before I have to go on a day trip on Saturday.

I'd rather have Alex Kidd to Sonic (don't hurt me)

Anyways, the only real classic character I feel missing that could be added would be Bomberman?

I work from home and set my own hours so...

As soon as it shows up from Amazon, I'm going to play it. Until I die.

EDIT: I'm going to play Little Mac and pray that you can unlock some sort of mullet wig and leather jacket so I can make an Uncle Jesse Mii. Then I'm going to systematically destroy every smashgaffer without mercy.

I don't know yet. Probably some Smash friends will be down to hang out and play it all night when it releases. The handheld experience kinda makes me want to play on my own though, so I'll be happy with it even if it's just me playing all night. Regardless I'll probably take a vacation day that Friday (which I need to arrange soon. the date is getting really close.)

That assumes that Gamestop is doing a midnight launch though. They did for Brawl, but then they didn't for Wii U. So who knows any more. On a Thursday night with no other games releasing, they probably won't. If they don't, then all the same stuff shifted to the next morning, with plenty of SmashGaf time the night before, being jealous of people that get it early.

Go to midnight at Gamestop or a 24 hour Walmart. Get the game play for an hour go to bed. Go to work play more when I'm off. Then hopefully play with friends and smashGAF in the evening.

Man Bomberman and Alex Kidd are what I need to make next Smash as hyped as this one. True classics with potential for amazing movesets <3

Go to Best Buy. Buy game. Go back home. Play game. And if I have to, unlock Lucina.

I get why kids like cinnamon toast crunch, at least.
Who doesn't? ;D

Speaking of special edition 3DS, I regret not getting the Fire Emblem one.

1. Wait til it goes up in the eShop at midnight.

2. Purchase it and download.

3. Wait, unable to sleep.

4. Play some matches.

5. Fall asleep.

6. Wake up, play more.

7. Repeat 5-6.

yeah, they would be amazing. I'm actually holding back intensely by not saying Rinko for Konami for the 100th time~

Their movesets would be pretty fun to use.

If there's no midnight launch, I'll just head on over first thing in the morning. Have no classes on Friday.

Three-day weekend of Smash 3DS. 8)

I wish I could buy it from the eShop for the midnight experience.

I remember the New Leaf midnight download. Hyping with the friends, freaking out seeing it become available, watching it download and playing it all through the night.

Due to the cheaper Amazon price (£26.85 vs £39.99) I can't find a reason to download it instead.. :(

Guys, you want a character in Smash Bros that isn't even in a Nintendo console game, and her only game was in other consoles only a few years ago.

Literally no. Even if she was kid friendly, how would you put her in?

Shulk is already as young a character can get into this, NINTENDO ALL STARS ONLY!

PD: Even when you get past this, you can't adapt bayo into smash because literally all her weapons and skills are censurable.
I have yet to play Bayonetta,
I'll fix this October 24th
.
But, I think something along the lines of her move set in Anarchy Reigns could work in Smash without being too explicit (it may bump the series back up to a T rating though).

Or like those famous release day for mainline Dragon Quest in Japan, too many people weren't going to school/work so they had to push those release to a Saturday.

Find a girlfriend, have her make tons of tacos. Go to Walmart if Gamestop isn't doing a midnight launch, grab the game, and play the shit out of it while eating tacos

? Ice Climbers was a Nes classic, Roy was the clone second rep of an already existing and loved Nintendo franchise. I don't see the relation.

At the time of Melee, the Ice Climbers appeared in one twenty-year-old subpar and obscure NES game. Define 'all-star'.

At the time of Melee, Roy was months away from his first appearance. His age was negative. That goes without mentioning that his franchise, while successful, was Japan-only. Melee and the subsequent popularity of Marth and Roy was arguably the reason Fire Emblem made it to the west.

I can't decide whether to get the physical copy or if I should go digital.
This is one of those games that I'll want to always have on me, so digital would be best in that regard.

Does anyone know what time the game is set to go up on the eShop?

That actually happened? Holy shit, I never thought a video game would have that much affect on peoples work hours. I'm impressed.

Mine's go to college, go home and stare at my Amazon package longingly as I get ready to work, rush to work. After work rush home and play smash bros!!!

EDIT: I've never had a special edition of any console. Or an XL. The jealousy of all your 3DS's runs through me!

There :
Dragon Quest III made one critical mistake that changed the fabric of game history forever in Japan though: It was released on a weekday. This lead to anarchy for a day as millions called in sick, waiting in line just to get the game. Japan’s legislatures were not slow to act, enforcing a now historic law that bans Dragon Quest from ever being released in Japan on a weekday. This law is still in effect today, as each Dragon Quest entry is met with millions still copping out of a day of work.
