The one-two punch of Villager and Mega Man is still the most excited/satisfied I've been with newcomer reveals. Litte Mac and Miis had amazing reveals too

They're all kinda amazing, though.

For me? Pac Man. Huuuuge nostalgia trip for me. Hes literally exactly what i wouldve wanted for him. Perfect. So happy hes in.

Little mac and villager are close seconds, we'll have to see how doc mario's is. I got my four most wanted characters, so im content with the roster!

And megaman was a complete shock! And duck hunt dog!

In fact, i only dislike rosalina. Partially because she may have stemmed from ice climbers not working, and partially because other franchises deserve more representation: i wouldve rather them focused on how to shrink ridley than figure her out.

But that said her playstyle looks fun and ill be using her

WiiFit Trainers Reveal.

It was cool to have a WTF character so early on like that. Especially when no one expected it. Someone like Megaman and Pacman are all fine and dandy but they're just too typical for Smash if you ask me. That's why I really liked when they had announced her at the end of it all with almost no hype. Thus everyone was scrambling around asking "are they serious?"

Had it not been for her. My hype for Smash would have taken awhile to build.
Probably wouldn't have even kept tabs on the game until Lucina/Robin got announced.

Robin/Lucina. As much as I love Shulk being in the game the double reveal of two characters I had previously thought to have little chance of being in the game was just too exciting.

Seeing Pac-Man revealed, fighting alongside Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man was just perfection. Like, gaming Mt. Rushmore.

Robin and Lucina for sure. I love FE:A and getting not one but two of my favourite characters in that game in Smash was and is still pretty awesome, even if Lucina's a clone. I'm the kind of player that enjoys playing with characters I know rather than unknowns, so I'm pumped about Lucina since I rarely play with Marth in the old SSB games. I hope I like Robin's mechanics so I can main him/her too

Greninja is definitely a close second. Best Pokemon from X/Y they could've gone with.

Mega Man >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Palutena = Rosalina & Luma > Pac-Man > Shulk > Wii Fit Trainer > Little Mac > Greninja > Villager > Robin/Lucina

In terms of the trailers themselves:

Rosalina & Luma > Shulk > Palutena > Mega Man > Initial trailer + Villager > Little Mac > Greninja > Robin/Lucina > Pac-Man > Wii Fit Trainer

I'm sure news sites would be far more likely to say "Pac Man in the new Smash Bros.!" than bring up Palutena. That in turn would lead to more people learning about Smash Bros. and Wii U. Nintendo fans aren't the only people Nintendo should be marketing towards.

For me, Mega Man, Little Mac, Pacman, & The Wii Fit Trainer are my personal favourites, though I'm also partial to the Rosalina reveal trailer (though still bummed that Kirby isn't a playable character in Mario Kart 8).

Again, that only seems to support the decision. The Pac Man reveal still got all the news coverage it would have if it were shown in the stream; and the same amount of people not directly following Nintendo's media would have been informed through those channels. Whereas the Palutena reveal provided an opportunity to promote a less popular character to a demographic more likely to care about it.

This is probably not going to happen, but what would your reaction be if the videos sent to the ESRB were incomplete, and used renders of Doctor Mario and Dark Pit (as alternate costumes) along with Duck Hunt Dog (as an Assist) to fill in the gaps that would eventually be filled in with characters like Ice Climbers and Chorus Kids, who were unfinished at the time of recording?
