Also, I'm honestly surprised that Sakurai didn't reuse Snake's moveset at all. Perhaps he's holding out hope for Snake DLC?

It's not the first time an entire moveset's been cut, as *Mewtwo went through the same thing as well.
Snake's was way funner though, and I'll miss all of his explosives and broken-hitbox kicks. :'(

Everything is riding on him now I need a new main and he fits into the same category as snake between my friends.

Looks like he'll be extremely unique movewise.

I'm just not at all convinced that Ice Climbers will not be playable in a Smash Bros. title before 2014 is over. That one character is the one that make me certain. Their absence is just absolutely bizzare to me.
But I need to maintain 1) hope for cut vets, and 2) hype for unknown characters.

It's pretty clear Sakurai loves adding color choices that somehow relate to the character or the series that character is from, if applicable.

Bump the date to 2015 and I'll agree. Considering that the Mario Kart 8 DLC is coming out half a year after the original release, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw Ice Climbers come back sometime in mid-2015.

I'm sort of on the fence about when Smash DLC will appear, but I'm fairly confident it will show up at the launch of the Wii U version. It'd be a good way to renew interest in the roster after the 3DS sets in and it'll kinda be like "gotcha there are even more characters than you thought!"
Of the first batch of DLC I expect one of the cut vets. And ICs would be an excellent candidate. Plus, there's no way some work hasn't already been done on them. Same goes for other DLC characters.

I usually do, especially my easily startled dog (He yelps when he's startled, so I'm always afraid he's hurt, but nope, just surprised). I made an exception for this Preying Mantis that seemed to give me a death stare after it noticed me, though. It's head just kept following me until I left.
So how long until this new leaker that actually has the game leaks everything? I doubt (s)he's going to toy with us ala MFL; I think the only thing keeping him/her is unlocking all the characters to show them off at once. I'd give him/her 24 hours to do so, unless those Nintendo Ninjas work their magic really quickly and precisely. They sort of did so with XY before they located the stores, so there's a chance the leaker might be cut off.

Funny thing when I'm thinking about my speculations that I had long time ago. I recalled that I used to hope that Snake would appeared in Shulk's trailer to fighting against Gex, etc. Too bad it didn't happens.
