Fox : Landmaster
Falco : Landmaster
Wolf : guess what? Landmaster
THIS is embarrassing.
And don't talk about shoto, there is more differences between Ryu and Ken than Fox, Falco and Wolf. I will not talk about Gouki, Sakura, Sean, Evil Ryu, Gouken, Oni ... Its like night and day.
Clones in Smash are just a way too make the roster look bigger, stop making clones, and take the time to revamp chars like Ganondorf, Toon Link, Donkey Kong... I like clones but I think there is enough veteran character who deserve a proper moveset.
Oh, I'm going to talk about the shoto, because this makes perfect sense in relation to what I'm talking about.
Ryu and Ken are like Fox and Falco, then wolf comes in and he's one of the other Shotos, for argument's sake I'll use Akuma right now because they're both the original badass of the fighting style
Ryu and Ken's movesets are more or less identical to each other, it's the properties and little bells and whistles that set them apart, and make their effective playstyles unique to them. Then there's Akuma (wolf) who takes that same base and turns it upside down. You don't play Akuma like you do Ken or Ken like Ryu. Likewise with Wolf, Fox and Falco. So I'll stand by my word that I feel it to be embarrassing to complain about more characters just because they have a similar style to another character. Even Dr Mario, because I'm sure he's not gonna just have a big ass pill and baby pills as his alt specials.
Now I can understand where that baseless argument earlier comes from where people think clones take the space of their favorite character, but that's just not how it is. Say you make a pound cake, it's a good pound cake. Pound cakes are your thing. You could say you're a master of pound cakes. Now you're catering to a party and they want at least 2 cakes (more if possible) but they don't want them to be exactly the same. You heard about this just now and the party is tonight. Now, since you're a master of pound cake, you throw together your usual pound cake, now you're at a crossroads. You can try and learn how to make a new type of cake and hope for the best, or you can just dish out another pound cake, but this time it's lemon pound cake. You just did all of that without having to make too much of an effort. May as well do an upside down pound cake as well since you're not spending time experimenting and looking up recipes.
And I'll agree that landmasters are dumb.
