That's not true at all. Bowser Jr. shouldn't be after Rosalina, and Jigglypuff shouldn't be between Lucario and Greninja.
I did too, I made it my twitter background for Smash hype.
If Clone Corner gets dispersed, maybe Mr. Dario would go where Yoshi currently is?

I barely understood the Barbara thing. The last post dismisses the first post saying that it's not different save builds as suggested, but a quick Smash Run trophy results screen, right? So instead of time-lapsing from 11 trophies to 686, the trophy count was always 686 and All-Star Mode is still not complete with the 48+Mii roster. Riiiight...?Who knows, who knows
Either way, I'm not convinced that's the final roster anyway with Shulk's weird placement and the 5th row obviously about to make room for somebody (from the previous leaked picture, not from this mockup).

Yoshi may have his own series and is treated as such within Smash, but he is still a core Mario character (unlike Donkey Kong and Wario) and has been for longer than Rosalina and Bowser Jr., both relative newcomers. I don't think there's much further thought put into his placement than that. His position seems very deliberate and I doubt it will change even if the clone corner was abolished or other characters were added or anything.

It's also worth noting that Brawl sort of counts Yoshi as a Mario character in the exclusive sticker bonuses--Yoshi is always grouped together with the four main Mario characters when a sticker is exclusive for use to the Mario series. And in Melee's Adventure Mode Yoshi only appears in the Mario stage. There is precedence within Smash for him to mingle in the Mario series.
This + the starting roster literally has him in the same row. It's not changing.
It's still weird. Yoshi's been a core Mario character for 24 years, but this is the first time he's interrupted the "mushroom icon" Mario characters in a Smash Bros. game.
Dang i didn't pick up on that at all. That image was unclear. But I still think people holding out hope for more characters are going to be disappointed.

Wait, hold on. Chorus Kids isn't confirmed right? People seem extreeemely convinced. Wasn't the Chorus Kids DLC "leak" by the same guy who said Wolf? And that probably isn't happening.

This is true. But Bowser Jr and the Koopalings, collectively, are supposed to represent NSMB. Which is why they're last in the Mario line despite the Koopalings appearing in SMW and Bowser Jr in Sunshine.
Jigglypuff, who has now been retconned to Fairy type, represents the Jigglypuff from XY.
I meant, it's not the soundest organizational method and it's not how any of us would do it, but there is still some consistency.
Ness doesn't really work either, since Earthbound was after F-Zero. But Mother as a whole started in 1989, which places him first.
Again, all of this is arbitrary reasoning. But it does have a readable organization.
For some reason, I was hoping the starting roster would be the same as the original SSB starting roster. And everybody else is unlockable. That would be pretty sick.

It's weird, but there really haven't been extended Mario family characters like Rosalina and Bowser Jr. in Smash before (save Dr. Mario in Melee, and the clones in that had very specific positions). He hasn't really had any reason (or place) to do so before.

After playing around, I could only form these without "breaking rows".
And that organization also coincides with how All-Star Mode is broken up into the years the characters made their first appearance. It's really not all that weird when you consider that as well.

Chorus Kids originally came from Sal Romano or whoever. That's why people are more hopeful about them showing up than anyone else.
I'm still of the belief that the leak we saw earlier is the final roster. If it really did originate from footage sent to the ESRB, why would they leave out content to be shown? I won't rule out the possibility of characters being added later as DLC, but this roster feels complete enough (and, frankly, still leaves enough holes like you might expect in a Smash roster) that I don't expect anything new or earth-shattering.
Sakurai being so trollish about Ridley makes me think that there's something going on with him beyond being "just" a stage boss, but I doubt he's a playable regular fighter. It probably has more to do with one of the Wii U exclusive modes, which is why there's been no mention of it at all lately.

RIP Ice Climbers. That's a really good .gif though.Way back miiverse updated with a pic of the day that involved the ice climbers polar bear. It was replaced with a different pic and it faded from memory. However I did make a gif for it that's just been sitting on my hard drive until now...
Is that really Ridley's spaceship? I just kind of assumed he didn't have one. Sure, flying through space with just his wings would be kind of stupid, but didn't he already do that in the beginning of Prime?

I was wondering why the Ice Climbers were missing too. If Chorus Kids are in, then Ice Climbers should be in too.

Adding Wolf, Lucas. Ice Climbers and Chorus Men to the CSS pushes the clone corner down to the bottom row, leaving exactly one spot in the bottom corner for Miis when they're enabled.
It just works a little too perfectly with those characters.
Either they're in or the CSS was designed with them in mind and they were removed, because adding those specific characters makes everything line up in a more logical manner.

Because it's not necessary to unlock everything for the footage presented to the ESRB. They aren't interested in making a comprehensive game guide, they just want to see the game in general and any parts the developers thought might be of interest to the ratings committee (Scary, violent, sexual, etc.) so they can give it an appropriate rating.
That said, Ridley's never happening. I just think there's the definite possibility of more characters.

Well that's a different premise. You could clearly see that's because they were added next to who they were "cloned" after.

Wait - does everyone here believe in the Gematsu thing? I thought the fact that Chrom wasn't playable and the fact that he was 100% sure the trailer that revealed Lucina/Robin would show Shulk instead pretty much showed that he was wrong.

Also, I feel kind of guilty, but Project M had the best alts, so, like, every alt they have is something I'd want (Like Boxer DK, Shadow Queen Peach, Dry Bowser, Pajamas Ness, Classic Pit/Marth, etc.). Man, I really am a consumer whore for this kind of stuff... I got all of PSASBR's costume DLC, too, even the bad ones like Generic Spartan Soldier for Kratos!

I feel like we've gotten the most comprehensive look at the characters we're going to get pre-release so whether or not there's more isn't really something I'm interested in tossing over in my head anymore.

People talk predictability, but Villager, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Mii Fighters - before any human being, he uttered that name in public - etc. together is not predictable.
It is virtually impossible that Gematsu was fake.
