I'm not sure I buy the trophy count thing. Couldn't it have just been sorted into some category that only has 11 trophies in it? I don't know what category would have Barbara and 10 other trophies but I'm not completely sold.

I don't think that was intended to mislead anyone, it was just to show that there are potential slots left.
Thinking about it, that leak (Ninka?) from a while back seems pretty much spot-on. Got all the hidden newcomers that we know about so far correct along with Alph being an Olimar alt. That leak also said that Snake, Ice Climbers, Lucas and Wolf were cut so it's not looking likely.
Or maybe...miis have 3 more version we don't know about!/s

How exactly do you look at the leaked roster and go "looks pretty damn finished and no dlc" despite the various issues people have pointed out and the inconsistencies with every other Smash final roster?
I still say the leaked roster was everyone in the esrb build, but more characters were still planned hence the lock on all star mode

Way back miiverse updated with a pic of the day that involved the ice climbers polar bear. It was replaced with a different pic and it faded from memory. However I did make a gif for it that's just been sitting on my hard drive until now...

The video has to show how a standard game session works according to the description on the ESRB site. That's likely why the character selection screen is there in the first place, since it'd obviously never have any effect on the game's rating.
There's no reason at all adding more or less boxes would affect the rating of the game. So, I don't see why people think that having everything unlocked would be some kind of necessity. Well, I could see the point if everything in the video had shown to always be completely unlocked, but that wasn't the case.

the 3DS' UI elements look odd all around, so the roster not making sense doesn't seem all that weird in comparisons.
Why? It's the ESRB, they're not concerned with what characters are in the game. They're just concerned with seeing general footage of the game to judge which age groups it's appropriate for.

By Wednesday at the latest. The game needs to be in stores on Thursday for the midnight release. Every hour beyond Monday business hours we are more and more likely to have our full retail leak.
And this is correct. It's not even speculative, the ESRB only needs examples of extreme content in particular categories.

Isn't it easier to wait until we've seen all the option.
Honestly, I'd like a custom colour option (which just changes colours so doesn't allow anything fancy like Skyloft Link). I don't basic colours are worth making as DLC so it would be the only way to get certain palette references if they aren't already in the game i.e. Wario's Woods NES Wario.

Shulk's placement is just weird. If you add characters, it moves Shulk in between clone characters and third-party characters. If you keep it as is, why wouldn't they just put Shulk up one row to "complete" it?
If this was the roster, it would seem complete. Especially since Shulk would be near the "new series", and it ends with clone characters, thus capping off Nintendo characters. Then third parties follow. But it isn't the case.
Also based on this CSS, you can't add Dixie without breaking the Metroid row. If you add Dixie and Impa, you break the Kirby row. If you add Dixie, Impa and Ridley, you still break Kirby. If you add Dixie, Impa, Ridley and a single rep series character or another Kid Icarus/Metroid/Fire Emblem character, you move Kirby to the next row fully but break Pokemon. If you add Dixie (Diddy clone), Impa (Sheik clone) and Ridley (Charizard clone) to the clone corner, it would make Shulk (an original character) move randomly in between clones for no apparent reason.
As much as I hate to admit this, based on all of the above, I think we just have a Brawl leak + Missing Wolf type scenario again. It would also make the Gametsu leak true (except for Chrom).

And why are we dividing into teams again? I mean, I know we're not allowed to do that anymore after launch (Probably for the best), but did something happen to make the leak roster final? I'm immediately jumping on #TeamHope, but only because I really want Ridley.

What sucks is that I can hardly fit my bare minimum into this 56-count roster (potentially)!
I want to add Marshal, Dixie Kong, and Ridley, but I also want to add Lucas, Wolf, and Ice Climber(s)! I suppose if I had to choose it would be Wolf, but by the end of the day, I think that everyone else has a bit more of value.
It's 6:47 in the morning in Tokyo. Stores should open within the next few hours.

We had the Gematsu leak and the SmashBoards leak.
The Gematsu leaker obviously was involved with the game early on, which is why he thought Chrom was in and could only name "Pokemon from X/Y". The Chorus Kids were also in consideration at this time. The leaker said that Lucas might be cut, but that DLC was being considered and that he could be in that way.
The SmashBoards leak definitively said that Lucas, in addition to Wolf, Snake, and Ice Climbers, were cut. It's a safe bet to say this leaker had access to development information well after the Gematsu leaker.
So if there were 5+ additional characters left to be revealed in the final game, who the heck would they be? You would have to guess at LEAST one out of Lucas/Wolf/Ice Climbers would show up, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So who would the additional characters be? Would the Chorus Kids show up? Would Mewtwo return? Why wouldn't any of the other leakers mention that? I think the roster we've seen is what we'll get, unless DLC happens later down the road.

2/3 of Impa, Ridley, and Dixie doesn't break the Kirby row
If Impa or Dixie are a clone(s), then they can move a row down, then add Isaac to standalones, +1 more standalone (thinking chorus men) would put clones and 3rd party at bottom, and it works out
Not saying I believe any of those characters are in, besides chorus men, and (hopefully) Isaac, but just pointing out a problem in the Kirby row being broken statement
Guys, again, there is zero reason to believe the ESRB footage included all the characters. The ESRB doesn't need to see a complete roster screenshot, they just want to see how the game looks and which parts might be considered inappropriate.

The other way around actually - there's new evidence that points against the idea of the ESRB video featuring multiple saves, which would mean that the leaked roster certainly isn't final.

I'll be honest: Chorus Kids and Ice Climbers go hand in hand to me. They're multi-characters, they're the only non-playable series with enemies in Smash Run, and those enemies have been completely avoided being talked about by official sources. If they're not in, it's because of development problems, and if one is in, then the other probably is too.
