Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

Zelda's up B is now a viable KO move. When you teleport near someone, it'll knock them up. She can they teleport to where they are and potentially KO them from this second hit.

I wanted to finish this earlier, but I have an official response.
And my ability to take your reply seriously dropped like a rock after I read the bolded statement. Unless you're completely kidding, I will never understand why anyone says things like this. You're a random dude on the Internet; why in the world should I care how much respect you have for me, and why would you even think that will keep me up at night? I'm more concerned about the fact that something as innocuous as an opinion about a video game leak would actually cause you to lose or gain respect for anyone, let alone me.
Oh, whether or not you believed in the leak is irrelevant. As I said, Gematsu leak is true, Wii Fit Trainer (along with Villager and Mega Man) had very slim odds, and he was right. But that doesn't change what you said.
What bothered me was that you - a game journalist, someone who writes about video games - used literally as figuratively. I figured that, as a writer, you would be above using hyperbolic statements like that. That's why I somewhat lost some respect for you. Not much, just a little. Not that that matters anyway, I'm just some random guy on the internet.

Anyway, you obviously read my post, so didn't you also see that I said "nearly if not literally?" Nearly. Maybe I should have left out the "if not literally" part, but I said "nearly" and it still stands. It's nearly impossible that anyone could or would have correctly predicted Wii Fit Trainer.
"Literally no one ever guessed Wii Fit Trainer" - you didn't add "nearly" in here. And here you go, somebody guessed in back in the Brawl days.
Evidence backing up Gematsu leak snippity snip
I don't know if this was intended for other naysayers, but once again, I have no qualms with you believing the Gematsu leak. You clearly have reasoning and logic behind it. My issue was with the word literally.

Look: I'm a fan of GameXplain, and I like you too. I was on #teamfake with the recent ESRB leak, and I was wrong. I doubted the Gematsu leak, and I probably will until I see Chorus Kids evidence that they were ever planned. I'm just naturally doubtful. However, I'm totally willing to accept that it was based on some outdated information if I see some words from Sakurai or some evidence in the code that they were planned. That doesn't mean I dislike or disrespect believers - honestly, I have the more difficult position this time around.
My issue was purely about the usage of your language, nothing more, nothing less. I'm sorry if I came across as being aggressive, or if my intentions were ever misinterpreted. I have a tendency to do that.

Why are people still trying to make "if this is the final roster, it doesn't make sense with what we've seen in the past" arguments? I thought those went out the window with Yoshi's CSS placement.

Whatever we find out, whatever happens, I just want to say that it has been a fine honor posting with you...my band of super smash brothers.

A leak is not a guess.

What is it that I'm supposed to be hoping for? Serious question.

People kept saying the ESRB shots are from different saves or states because of the trophy counter, when it turns out it isn't. It's all a single build because the supposed different trophy counter refers to Smash Run.

So yeah, the ESRB roster list ISN'T final!

Sakurai makes every Smash game as if it's going to be the last game in the series. He never assumes there's going to be another one.

Based on what? Nintendo is a public corporation. Smash always sells. You can bet they're trying to maintain some form of longevity with the IP, even though they work as hard as "if it's the last game in the series".

It's hoping all pics were from same build, lock was on All-Star mode, meaning all characters weren't unlocked in that build

Oh ok. Let the hoping commence then.

What's an inkling? :o
...you serious brah?

No. POTD thread and Smash 3DS OT are two separate threads.

POTD thread is for mainly NA/EU Peeps and Wii U peeps then Once 3DS is out for worldwide, then It's for Wii U POTD.

So just to be clear, this thread is where we discuss the PotD stuff and other officially announced goodies, while the 3DS OT is where we discuss the spoilery stuff, right?

A Lucas alt for Ness would be the worst future, not only are you removing his moveset, you are basically taking away his DLC chances.

I wonder if any of the cut characters will get trophies in the game, might be telling.

In an amazing plot twist, sheriff is not only an assist trophy but also playable

...that would be some top tier Sakurai twist right there

Rosalina, Bowser Jr, Palutena, Little Mac, Duck Hunt Dog, Villager, Pacman, Megaman and Mii Fighters all existed before Brawl. Only new comers born after 2008 are Robin, Greninja, Chrous Men, Dark Pit, Lucina and Shulk.

Having 6 newer characters + Ridley/KRool/Krystal/Impa & Co. would be easier to market than just 6-7 new characters.
Super Mario Galaxy released three months before Brawl, I doubt Rosalina existed by the time Brawl began developing or at least was available. I don't remember if we even got some trophies from Galaxy. And Palutena had nothing to take moves from, all of her moveset in Smash4 is based of Uprising.

Brawl came out in 2008, but the roster was finalized in 2005. Rosalina didn't exist then -- Brawl doesn't contain any Galaxy content, for that matter.

I thought the Miis take up the Random slot? Also, I'm not really sure if we'll get Ridley.
Why do you think that? Someone from the Treehouse said they take up a single slot between them, and we've had confirmation that they aren't activated by turning on customization, which means they are yet to be unlocked.

As for Ridley, neither am I really. I'm still not convinced there are more characters. I just still think Sakurai has been leading Ridley fans on a little too much for him not to be playable, whether it be at launch or in DLC down the line. Or he's just an asshole.

Based on your logic:

Pokémon Diamond Version
Pokémon Pearl Version
JP September 28, 2006

Mother 3
JP April 20, 2006

Lucario and Lucas deconfirmed for Brawl.

Lucario was revealed in early 2005 and his movie came out in July 2005. It's not "my logic," it's something Sakurai has said several times.

This would've been way less awkward if Brawl came out in late 2007 like it was supposed to.

And Lucas?
Was revealed in the late 90's when Mother 3 was Earthbound 64. Additionally, the Japanese site for Melee mentions Ness was going to get replaced with Lucas before Mother 3 went into development hell.

I recall one of the people who played the new build saying that. Also, I'm not going either way, but the evidence that was recently brought up is compelling in favor of there being more.

The ones we care about are girls at least.
Not much love for the males. If they're in smash it's going to be the female that's shown off with the male as the alt.

Well, the very first Inkling ever was female. Most of the advertising and footage uses female Inkling. Like the Wii Fit Trainer, the female is pretty much the mascot of the game.
