Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

I predict shit gets real at some point tomorrow.

As in, someone will have the final game. It was about this time before launch that the same happened for Brawl.

I would be if the demo weren't over and I weren't at work, lol. If there's something else you'd like to know, I could try to help!
Oh, I thought the demo was all of this week. Just the weekend? Damn, that is harsh.

Anyway, I was hoping to know more about Palutena's Reflect. Can you put multiple walls out at once? Can Palutena move and attack through them? Can opponents attack or roll through them? How big are the walls? How is the startup, duration, and recovery of the move?

Thank you for any info, in advance.

Yeah, I mean stuff like that makes me lean towards it being true, but the people who are pretending that it couldn't possibly just be pure luck are kind of arrogant.

It couldn't though. You can get a lucky guess on a character. Getting an identical render without any knowledge is pretty much impossible

I just showed my 7 year old nephew all the reveal trailers. Here is his reactions.

Villager: my nephew was confused. Didn't see how he could be a fighter.

Sonic: my nephew got really hyper. He loves sonic.

Little Mac: "He looks so boring. He's just a puncher". I tried telling him lots of people are excited for Mac, but my nephew didn't care.

Mega man: didn't know who he was, confused him for kid Icarus(?)

Greninja. He was loves charizard, thought greninja looked cool despite not knowing who he was.

Pacman: thought he looked awesome. I was surprised he knew who pacman was. Apparently there is a pacman cartoon on currently?

Rosalina: my nephew was so happy. He loved her in SMG.

Robin and Lucina: didn't care about either, was obsessed with falcon

Shulk: He got excited. My nephew watched me play all of xenoblade. He wanted reyn in.
I find it cute he had no clue who Mega Man or Mac was but knew Shulk.

I dunno, Nintendo might be super on-the-ball after XY; weren't most of the leaks in the US/Canada, with none from Japan? Maybe they'll keep things under control.

I'll give them 48 hours.

I suppose that's also long enough to see if that GameFaqs person is legit

It would be really easy to keep up with legit information in this thread if we didn't stop to argue about the same things over and over in a never-ending cycle.

I cant wait to sift through the Ridley size debates tomorrow, and then the dlc arguments on tuesday.

Rosalina, Bowser Jr, Palutena, Little Mac, Duck Hunt Dog, Villager, Pacman, Megaman and Mii Fighters all existed before Brawl. Only new comers born after 2008 are Robin, Greninja, Chrous Men, Dark Pit, Lucina and Shulk.

Having 6 newer characters + Ridley/KRool/Krystal/Impa & Co. would be easier to market than just 6-7 new characters.

I feel like Rosalina is kind of an edge case as Galaxy and Brawl were developed very closely together, and even though she had a large presence in the Galaxy games she didn't really get enough going for her to become "playable" material until fairly recently.

Bowser Jr. and Palutena are also characters who are older than Brawl but only recently gained enough relevance to become Smash all-stars but that's obviously a different case. I'm just splitting hairs, I know, but it's discussion is all.

The prosecution rests.

You should be fine. I used Shulk throughout the entire game, only switching him out for that one battle.
And by "that one battle," you mean the one with the
assassins at the palace
, right? Why would that one have been tricky with Shulk, anyways? I used Dunban, and the enemies moved around quickly, but I don't see why Shulk's attacks wouldn't have worked...?

Oh, this is delicious

It was Canada and Italy, and I think it was like a whole week or two ahead, by that mark Nintendo's already done a good enough job and should just let the next few days slide.

Luckily, whiney drive-by posts are taking up less space than usual.

That whole speculation about Barbara or whatever is lame as hell.

Does this honestly look like recently obtained rewards in Smash Run?

It looks like the entire trophy list sorted by recently obtained, to me.
For comparison, here's Smash Run/Classic rewards screen

I understand that it COULD be a deeper menu, but that seems very unlikely.

Plus, the Barbara trophy doesn't even have a description.

It's mostly because the only pics with different trophy count. People thought it was trophy total when it isn't.

Yeah, that's why I don't know why people are so sure we're getting Duck Hunt and Bowser Jr. I think it's entirely possible that a faker made fake models/fake stage select screen, and it's just random chance that they match up with the real deal. It's likely that it was legit, but it's not stretch to say that it could easily just be a lucky fake.
Entirely different leak we're talking about here. I'm not even using the "infinite monkeys" thing as an argument against Gematsu. I'm just toying with some ideas.
And yeah, however unlikely it may be, there is still the most miniscule of chances that somehow, the ESRB leaker managed to randomly get the renders completely right, and all the stages correct too. Just like Gematsu. I'm not at all agreeing with that idea, but that's just it: it's just an idea guys, not an argument.

Monado does not work on humans, at least at that point. You should have known that by now :p

Are people who say the Gematsu leak is a lucky guess saying Sal Romano is a liar or that someone who guessed just so happened to send it to the right person, who wouldn't believe it and post it as a guess on some forum?

I'd say a combination of real and fake is way more likely than a straight fake.

So just to be clear, this thread is where we discuss the PotD stuff and other officially announced goodies, while the 3DS OT is where we discuss the spoilery stuff, right?

Pretty much. 3DS POTD is welcome to be discussed in 3DS OT as well if people wish to.

It's entirely possible. If everyone on the internet is making fake character roster screens, someone could very easily get one right accidentally.

See, this is where you're just being dumb. My argument says that it's possible, not easy at all, not likely at all, and next to near impossible, but possible. I'm not saying either leak is fake, I'm just toying with some ideas here.

It isn't the roster screen. It's the fucking Shulk render. here are literally infinite ways that could be done, so having two that are exactly identical by chance is probably less likely than winning the every single grand lottery jackpot each time they occur throughout your entire life while only buying one ticket each time without cheating. Technically not impossible, so absurdly unlikely that it's not really worth considering

Oh, I completely agree. It's not terribly likely that the character select screen was faked, but it's definitely possible. That's why I don't know why everyone's acting like Duck hunt is some kind of lock, when that whole picture could possibly be faked. We're agreeing with each other, we're saying the same thing but in different ways. No need to argue :)

Lol what the fuck is this.

Pretty sure both of us were just playing devil's advocate and entertaining the possibility it was a lucky guess.

Sorry, but it seemed like you were making a strawman of my hypothetical question.

remember the Monado bouncing off of Fiora when Reyn was "wielding" it back in the beginning of the game?

Pretty sure both of us were just playing devil's advocate and entertaining the possibility it was a lucky guess.

Absolutely. Not discrediting the leak, or its believers, but just entertaining the "infinite monkeys" notion, however unlikely it may be.
Without speculation and toying around with ideas, what would be the point of this thread?

We get it. You're making a point that is so nitpicky and vague that it can't be disproven or argued against. Many people have parodied your posts because as much "sense" as they make, they are equally ridiculous.

Anything is possible. I could say the Gematsu leaks roster was not actually insider info but instead the results of a fever dream a 13 year old had after tripping on bath salts. Sure it isnt likely or reasonable at all given the circumstances, but it's possible.

Now Ridley guys, there's no way he is just a stage boss, right?

I can't tell if this is sarcasm.
