I don't know why Alph didn't, but I think it's cause Pikmin. Would you change how they worked? If so, you'd probably want to change how they looked to, but there's only rock pikmin for that, since Olimar uses the other six (one of which is for flying only). So I'm guessing that's why they didn't make him one.

Did he at least think megaman was awesome in that trailer? Because he was and anyone who says otherwise is a doo doo head!

She's roughly the same size as Louie. It wouldn't work for Olimar/Alph. But if they made Louie/Brittany another character I'd be down with that.

Because the Pikmin are the real starts of the franchise, so it doesn't really matter who's commanding them.

Because Alph has the same proportions as Olimar so he was likely made rather quickly.

If I had him have Rock Pikmin, I'd give him different animations for throwing them, that would take more effort for sure than changing a few properties on Mario/Pit/Marth.

And yeah Alph has the same proportions as Olimar so it's a pretty quick alt costume.
 
Alph is Olimar's model with a different suit texture, slightly modified hair, and googly eyes stuck on his head. It probably took the art team like a day to implement.
 
Yeah but if they're doing alts like the Koopalings, would it really be that hard to fudge the heights on some of the captains to make them alts for Olimar? Like, I know the Koopalings are in the Clown Car and everything but Smash hasn't always been hung up on perfectly preserving proportions.

It'd be nice if there were DLC at some point with Brittany, Charlie, and Louie alts.

I feel the opposite. -ina and -ita names usually imply small, feminine, diminutive things. Seems more fitting for a little girl.

Rosetta sounds like it has some antiquity to it.

Then again I grew up around a lot of Hispanic and Italian names/people so it just comes off that way.

Nah they could make Brittany the same height if they wanted to, but it was probably just a simple thing like they felt Olimar would represent Pikmin 1+2, and Alph 3, and didn't feel the need for Brittany nor Louie. Charlie would have different hurtboxes.

I ask that all the time. Only possible answers I got are the Rosetta name being more associated with actual people named Rosetta, Rosetta Stone the software, and the Rosetta stone rock. Maybe Rosalina was much more freeing than using other "Rose" name variations? Googling Rosalina by itself yields the character by a huge margin in sites... and NSFW images.

It's just going to be weird seeing the whole cast of Koopailngs (who are generally considered to be interchangeable gameplay-wise much in the same way the Pikmin captains are) but only two of the captains.

Honestly I'm just glad Pikmin 3 is getting playable representation. I really hope Purples are reskinned as Rocks for Alph though.

Eh? Pretty sure the lumas saved the galaxy from the blackhole caused by bowser. All she did was got big and explain what the lumas did. :p

Okay maybe I exaggerated a bit. But I do wonder who's canonically the most powerful being in Nintendo games.

If that were true, and she was that strong wouldn't she had just defeated Bowser on her own rather than getting Mario to do it for her?

I'd say Palutena would take this without much trouble, and Zelda would come in second.

I guess it's easier for the Koopalings, because for the most part, the Clown Car is the star of the show, and the Koopas are just along for the ride. From what we've seen, you barely even see the Koopa riding it in full except for when they're apparently using the Up+B "Emergency Eject" recovery.

I'd imagine it would be a bit different in the case of the one leading the Pikmin around, where the proportions would be much more on display.

You're probably right, Rosalina more or less is the God of the Mario series.

So you have 'custom profiles' you have to set up yourself outside the CSS, but after you do so you can access that profile straight from the CSS?
