It's not about looking at the menu design, it's about showing off the different options available, which weren't shown off at E3.

Also back in the early days on PotD this game likely didn't even have a nice looking menu.

Ice Climbers
Dixie (though I'd rather get Wolf)

Ridley

Lucas and/or Wolf would be eventual DLC.

Just curious, why do you think Lucas would be the DLC one?

My personal guess/hope for the remaining 5 is:

Chorus Kids
Mewtwo
Wolf
Lucas
Ice Climbers

Ice Climbers being cut means no Chorus Kids, imo, because the only reason they'd get cut is if double characters weren't working well.
Wolf wasn't mentioned as being potentially cut in the Gematsu leak, while Lucas was, and in the same leak it mentioned DLC. So I'd assume Lucas would be the most likely to still be cut, but he'd also likely be DLC if he was.

Eh, Mewtwo isn't my favorite Pokemon but I like it a decent amount. I think it's our best shot at getting another Pokemon in Smash 4.

Plus Mega Mewtwo Y for a Final Smash would be hawt
 
Dixie, Chorus Kids, Mewtwo, Ice Climber, and Ridley seem like the perfect set of unlockables.

Dixie has been a strongly-requested character. She wouldn't be super special moveset wise, but to be honest, none of Brawl's secret newcomers (R.O.B. aside) were, either.

Ridley would also be super popular, but he would have something to show for it with a presumed hover moveset gimmick.

Ice Climber would receive a radical change, so it would stand to reason that Sakurai would want the character to be a surprise.

Mewtwo is probably the most-wanted veteran after it got snubbed in Brawl, so it'd be an awesome surprise.

And Chorus Kids has a nice combination of gimmick and popularity going for it, as well as being an odd and surprising character for many.

I don't know, I'd have to see how the Chorus Kids worked. I have a feeling they'd move in lockstep and be one contiguous unit. And call me crazy but I'm not even confident that ICs have been cut at this point.

But good point about the Gematsu thing, though I'm shaky on that whole leak post-initial characters.

My ideal 5 are:
Ice Climbers
Wolf
Lucas
Mewtwo
Chorus Kids.

Veterans should have priority IMO.

I'm excited to play Smash Run, but I don't care for Smash Run pics because that's something we know everything about. Plus, it's something that's more fun actually playing than hearing about.

I think it's a mode that people might have enjoyed, but so much attention was devoted to it, and everyone saw it played so many times in the live streams, that people don't want to see it anymore.

One might imagine millions of forum-posting Smash buyers who never play the mode, having become sick of livestreams of it.
