Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

From gaf, Serebii Joe and Makai, for sure. I'll be playing, but not streaming. I'll try to be on gaf to answer some questions that maybe the streamers aren't.

I won't be able to do much other than miiverse posts of pictures, and possibly saving to SD card and then uploading. If it lets you upload replays to youtube, i'll do that, too.
Ah thanks. Would rather watch a GAF stream than a random stream.

So anyone think we'll get a Bowser Jr trailer before the stream? Maybe a Wii U release date for smash?

I'm hoping so, for at least the former. Having a Junior+Koopalings reveal on the Nico stream (and then re-aired at the NOA Treehouse) would be what I think could be at least one last big surge of hype for this game that I think would be met favorably worldwide.

I don't care about Ridley being playable anymore. I need to see this happen.

Should have used the NES Ridley sprite, though.

It's weird that they're hyping it in the west already with the Treehouse stream. We'll still have to wait three more weeks to play it.

Unfortunately all those I know have moved in from Smash so it's gonna mostly be single player and online for me. I also still have my old controllers from the days they did get used but now they all sit a drawer apart from my spice orange.

So sad I never got a Orange controller. We have Purple, Black, Silver, and wavebirds.
Though the adapter is going to be for when I travel back home. Will see how the Gamepad and Pro controller work with smash. Will be interesting to see if I can drop the GC controller as my preferred. Since using the Wii Classic Controller was a no go for smash.

Instead they'll reshow the AKB ad because we love it so much. I mean, after all, it is the most posted trailer for Smash since PotDs started.

Ah thanks. Would rather watch a GAF stream than a random stream.

I think makai said he'd like help translating japanese, and that he'd also take requests. I played steel diver vs him to test out online/streaming, though that game isn't the best to test latency.

Can confirm that his 3DS can stream :p

lol it's been such a long time since I've touched a gcn controller. I hope I don't get repulsed by it and can feel comfortable using it agin.

For what it's worth, I love the X360, XOne, DS4 and Wii U Pro controllers the most. I cannot use the gamecube controller anymore. It's so gross :k

EDIT: At least not for Smash.

Yeah after using the DS4 and Wii U Pro controller it's going to take some conditioning for me to get used to the feel of the gamecube controller.

Good thing I have Friday off. A whole day of Smash streams.

When I should be doing something productive like trying to complete Xenoblade.

I'll grasp all the straws available if it means Snake has some sort of chance.
I understood that reference!

But if another third party character was in, they would have to be revealled efore release due to the company wanting to be advertised or copyrights on the box, etc. the only way it would work of it was a second rep from Capcom, Sega, or Namco.

Those tight lipped treehouse employees won't say what time the treehouse stream is ;_;

Assuming it's during normal work hours, i'd guess like 9-5 pacific, which is 12-8 EST.

So treehouse is streaming. But it sounds like it's not only Smash 4, just gameplay in general. Looks like I'll be tuned in for part of that and a lot of other streams.

The current delusion is that he's going to either be in the Wii U version or part of larger post-launch DLC, in which case the 3DS box and marketing wouldn't matter. Although he's undeniably cut, it's quasi-plausible if you squint.

Smash experience?
*snip*

Allow me to copy this post for my experience:
Mario: I've played just about every game in the Mario franchise, with the exception of the Mario Party games.

Yoshi: I've completed both SMW2 and New Island, and I've only played a small amount of Yoshi's Story. Never had an N64 growing up. :|

Wario: Played every single Wario Land title, and I've 100% completed every single WarioWare title.

Donkey Kong: Donkey Kong GB is one of my favorite GameBoy games ever, and I managed to 100% complete it too. I've also completed DKC, but never the other two DKC titles.

Game and Watch: I own all 4 volumes of Game & Watch Gallery, and even the Club Nintendo-exclusive Game & Watch Collection for the DS.

Zelda: I have played a few Zelda titles, but never to completion. LBW is pretty good though.

Metroid: I was never a huge fan of Metroid.

Kid Icarus: I have played both the original NES game and Uprising. Honestly, I think Uprising is one of the best games on the 3DS, if not EVER.

Fire Emblem: Never. I do hope to pick up Awakening in the near future though.

Kirby: I've completed both Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Land. I'm probably gonna be picking up Triple Deluxe the same day that I also pick up my copy of Smash for 3DS.

Little Mac: Played both the original and Wii version. I could never beat Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream in the NES version, nor could I beat Donkey Kong in the Wii version. Both are hard as fuck, yo.

Star Fox: I've played a good chunk of Star Fox 64 before losing interest. I am eager to give it another go if I ever pick up the 3DS port.

Pokemon: I've played Pokemon through Gen 1 to Gen 2. Then I took a break until X/Y was released. I'm currently chugging through Y, so... Yeah.

Duck Hunt: I had the original SMB/DH NES cartridge. I played the shit out of Duck Hunt until my family upgraded our TVs to HD, of which then the Zapper stopped working. :|

ROB: Never owned one, but I have heard about it before Brawl was released, thanks to WarioWare.

Mother: Eh... I could never get into the Mother series. I tried playing Mother 3, but I lost interest an hour into the story.

F-Zero: I've played the GBA version and GX on the GameCube. I demand a sequel, Nintendo/Sega! Make it happen!

Animal Crossing: I've clocked almost 200+ hours on New Leaf. Send help.

Pikmin: I've played Pikmin 1, but never Pikmin 2. Eh.

Wii Fit: I do own this game, but I own it just as a collectable item. I barely use it for exercising.

Dr. Mario: I've played the NES and Japan-only GameCube port of Dr. Mario 64. It's alright.

Xenoblade: Watching an LP of it right now. I'm really feeling it. And I'm feeling that I should give it a shot in the near future.

Pac-Man: Pac-Mania is one of my favorite arcade titles of all time, and Pac-Man World is one of my favorite PlayStation titles of all time. Enough said. Wakka Wakka.

Mega Man: I've completed Mega Man 2, but that's about it. Those games are way too hard, man!

Sonic: Sonic is one of my favorite game franchises of all time, and I've played just about every single title starring the Blue Blur; with the exception of Lost World since I don't own a Wii U. The only two Sonic games I've never completed are '06 since it's god-awful and Lost World 3DS since it cranks up the difficulty to "Oh God Why?!"-tier after World 3.

Metal Gear Solid: Never.

Ice Climbers: I've played the NES version for all of five minutes. I'm assuming it's more fun when two players are involved.

Sept 12 in japan, at 7PM, which is sept 12 for US at 6AM, since your're in UK, that's 11 AM (according to google) on sept 12th.

Treehouse stream is definitely AFTER nico nico stream, and very likely after japan release at midnight (which is 11 AM sept 12 in US, and 4 PM in UK)

Ah, i'll be in college unfortunately. :/

Also, I saw this on sale across my FB page, would you guys ever buy one:

I like this theory that I just heard.
Link is in the All Star Icon because there is actually a fifth company involved.
So when that character gets released Link will be replaced by that companies character.
Since there's no reason for there to be 2 nintendo characters there when it's all of the third parties.

Might be outlandish but I like it.
It's probably just for color symmetry. Two blue characters sandwich the red with yellow and green on the sides. It's the standard multiplayer colors for many games including Smash. And if you remove Link from there, it's a whole lot of blue from three characters anyway. That and Link being popular and all too.

There are other ways to get that splash of green, you know.

EIGHT HOURS' STREAM WITH THE THREEHOUSE! A free Wii U VC download says this thread doesn't last until Friday

Heh. A leak in the next day or two is all it would take anyway. One picture of wolf/lucas/ice climbers or a newcomer will instantly make 50 pages go by.

Anyone wanna bet against it getting a 40 in famitsu? Only way it possibly could would be to make the Wii U's 40 look better :p

I was thinking this thread won't even last BEFORE we get any substantial leaks. We won't even get to the thread's title play out in this thread.

Trueché! And it -is- likely that some store will break the street date, who knows....And I think that's what's gonna happen, it'll get a 39 while the U version gets a 40. I just feel it.

Man, there's a 0.01% chance of it happening, but if they decide to surprise us on Friday by releasing the digital version of Smash in the eShop right there, hype would kill me on the spot right there.

No chance in hell with the current Smash sale on the eShop all lined up to October 3, I know.

I just realized I have Friday off which means I can do something crazy like watch this stream all day.

Which will of course make the wait that much more painful.

They did announce wind waker would be available digital early, so it's not IMPOSSIBLE, but it's still pretty darn unlikely. Since treehouse says they're streaming the final version of the game... that means it's... done... so the release date is basically arbitrary at this point and makes me really angry that it's 3 weeks later for no reason :/
