Fox burning off American Dad episodes starting this Sunday.

What episodes do they have to burn off? I know they had some episodes finished, but I assumed those would be in the next season on TBS.
 
What I'm curious about is if Mike Barker is involved in the new season in any way at all. I know he stopped producing the show, but he voices so many bit characters and a couple secondary/tertiary characters like Terry. I feel like the show would lose a lot without his voice.
 
Looking at Wikipedia, these three episodes are leftovers from production season eight. Two episodes will air this Sunday and the final new episode on Fox will be on September 21. Then, a new 15 episode season begins on TBS on October 20.

Correct! Kinda weird that they're being called two different seasons though. I wonder why Fox held onto these three episodes for September and not just air them back in May? Or just let TBS have them?
 
It's sad that Cleveland Show is dead and American Dad already has one foot in the grave but the black hole of uncomedy that is Family Guy is still on the air despite having been completely unwatchable since Season 8.

Second this. None of the family guy type shit is funny and has never been to me. But damn is bobs burgers funny shit and you can watch it more than one time to get even more out of it. Just read the first comic last night with my daughter and even that shit was great.

Have you watched a lot of American Dad? In my experience most that love it wouldn't categorize it that way and don't usually care for Family Guy. To me it keeps getting better, where Bob's Bugers has gotten a bit stale. Still lovable, but a little less funny.

American Dad isn't cancelled, it's already been picked up by TBS. Anyways American Dad hasn't been all that great these past two seasons, some eps have even felt Family Guyish (lazy comedy). AD feels it's past it's prime. As for Bob Burgers, it does well in Syndication so hopefully somebody will pick it up if Fox cancels it.
 
American Dad is by far MacFarlane's best show. I'm sad that it got cancelled by FOX when shit like Family Guy is allowed to keep going. I know TBS got it, but those episodes probably won't make it to Adult Swim :(
 
I love both Bob's Burger and American Dad. Glad American Dad is on TBS now. Hopefully Bob's Burger follow suit. Fuck Fox.

Recently the comedy has felt FG at times, this may be due to the switch of new writers from last season. Can't say I've been happy with American Dad's decline of quality these past two seasons.

TBS and Adult Swim are owned by the same company (Time-Warner). So you will still see newer episodes of American Dad on Adult Swim.

And speaking of Adult Swim, what the hell is everyone complaining about when it comes to Bob's Burgers?! It hasn't been cancelled. Sure, Fox put it in a terrible timeslot this season but you're all going to watch it on Adult Swim anyway. It's not going anywhere. You're all pre-panicking for nothing.

Couldn't stand the Cleveland Show after the first few episodes.

American Dad used to be my favorite animated series Sunday on Fox but then I finally caved in and watched Bob's Burgers. Didn't think much of the series at first but now it's surpassed American Dad for me.

Shame American Dad is leaving but at least those two shows will continue.

Roger is one thing I'm starting to dislike on the show.
Giving his personalities more focus made the character annoying for me.
 
Really never got the difference between AD and FG. I loved FG up to the later seasons, but.. Im sure folks still have jobs over at Seth Studios or what not?

Well after this season it will have enough eps for syndication on non cable networks and since it's been move to a bad time slot people do have the right to be worried about it being cancelled.

I think you can set them apart with FG having more offensive humor while AD was a cleaner show that avoided those controversies.
 
I came to American Dad late (about 3 years ago) after being a family guy fan since day 1. I was wondering why Family guy stopped being funny in 2005. American Dad is so funny I honestly think it's not too far off of classic Simpsons, the episode where they roast Roger is in my top 3 episodes of anyshow of all time.

I really hope it succeeds.

This. American Dad is nothing like family guy. I have found that people that dislike Family Guy also just assume they hate AD. It needs to be given a chance

American Dad is fucking hilarious. I feel like people watched it during the first season and then wrote it off. The show is much funnier and raunchier then family guy and has much more interesting story lines. The show is worth watching for Roger alone, he and tina are two of my favorite animated characters on tv right now.
 
bob's burgers in the 7:00 timeslot?? Probably means we'll barely see it when it will consistently get pushed aside for NFL, MLB, and NASCAR events

This could not be any further from the truth. He's an extra-terrestrial, pan-sexual, alcoholic junkie with multiple personalities. It's hardly the same thing as Charlie Sheen playing himself.

Watch an AD episode called "Lost in Space" from season 8. If you still can't tell the difference, I don't know what to tell you.
