Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

I bet NoA's marketing department crunched the numbers and determined that an October 3rd release date will be more lucrative than September 13. As for why, I can only guess. Maybe it has something to do with back-to-school season: having just spent a bunch of money on school supplies, parents may be less willing to drop another $40 for a video game; but by October, enough time has passed that school expenses have drifted back a ways in their minds.

Late, but that was always my guess in regards to release date.

I just don't get why they're so against releasing a demo for it ahead of time, assuming they actually do.

Ugh, people already assigning tier lists based on a few matches of a fucking demo with five characters. Someone had to ruin the hype. :(

Going to pretend I didn't see that and keep immersing myself in the excitement!

How do you know that when there's exploits that haven't been publicly released that work on the latest firmware? That's my entire point, I know it shouldn't be possible for most people since the publicly available tools for extracting files from games are limited by the 7.X encryption, but you can't say it's the same for sure about people who have exploits that aren't publicly released.

Regardless, no one capable of dumping 3DS games can do it with the current method cannot do it. Line-in rip or bust.

Hey there, little guy, what are you doing in this demo?

Edit: God dammit, villager can pick up the tornado from the ore club. An mega man's charge attack.

Waaaiiit a minute - I just now realized - why does Villager have a bowling ball attack and a boxing gloves attack? I've put far too many hours into every AC game and don't remember any bowling balls or boxing gloves!

Hm. Mega Man seems to be a "camp with projectiles, then go into a combo kill" character. I am okay with this. His aerial attacks also look very strong. Also: superb edgeguarding.

Just ignore those people, they don't understand what goes into making tier lists or even what qualifies as one.

It's one thing to say, "VILLAGER BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME" It's another to say, "Villager is Top tier, Mario is high, Link is low, and Mega Man is bottom tier for sure!" Especially this early on...

I almost feel like the phrase tier list has lost all of its meaning because of these people who don't understand what goes into making a tier list and everything associated with them. It's frustrating and sad because tier lists have actual merit. :/

It's definitely different from the E3 build by a country mile.

I remember doing short-hop-bomb-bag w/ link, and getting STUCK to the ground for what seemed like an eternity.

Landing lag for short hop bomb bag is now GONE. Same w/ boomerang.

Landing lag isn't 100% not there, it's just so minimal you can't even tell. It was 100% a problem at e3, it is now no longer a problem. Thank you based sakurai.
I'm so optimistic now. I can't believe I'm actually being optimistic about this game.

Ash, I want to shake you by the shoulders and say, "Ignore them! They're not hurting anyone! Let them enjoy the game the way they want to enjoy it, while you enjoy the game the way you want to enjoy it!" I'll always have utmost respect for you, but it's disheartening to see how much you let competitive Smashers irritate you. :-\

Just don't expect melee, because it's not. It's what I think a lot of people wanted brawl to be.
That's sounds good enough!

Does the demo have multiplayer, do you know? Like if you had another person with a Japanese 3DS there, could you versus each other?

Is best to ignore them and indulge in the hype! haha

Indeed!

People enjoy video games in different ways than you do.

This isn't even close to that kind of situation. I don't care how people enjoy video games. Come on now.

Just ignore those people, they don't understand what goes into making tier lists or even what qualifies as one.

Eh... do they, though? Well, either way, I agree with you that most of the people who create them have no idea what they're doing or understand that the development of a metagame takes time.
