Who gives a shit if they saw the video or not? Even without the video you know that the guy knocked his fiancee out cold and dragged her body out of an elevator like she was a sofa or something.
 
It is a big deal tho because Ray Rice only got 2 games, and if the video didn't leak, if Roger saw the video, he let him off easy. If he didn't see the video, he didn't do his job and needs to step down.

The whole issue is bad for the NFL because it shows how little power the NFLPA has, and the lack of professionalism going on on the owner's side(comissioner).

If this happened in the NBA, the team would be fined for the rally, the owner would be kicked out of the league, possibly banned for life, and Adam Silver would have his ass hung from the rafters by the players.

Instead, we get a "bad Ray, go home Ray" and that's it.

Well without the video there isn't 100% proof that he hit her. She could of hit her head on the wall during a struggle or something.

All you know from the original video was he dragged her out like a dead body with no remorse. You don't know how she got into that state though, but yea obviously you would assume he hit her, but again no proof.

The NBA's longest domestic violence ban was 7 games. 41% more lenient than Rice's 2 games.
 
So Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert sought out the quarterback during the second quarter of Sunday's contest to deliver the most unnecessary apology Tannehill has likely ever heard.

"I'm sorry, man," Albert told him. "We need to keep you cleaner. We need to do a better job."

After the game, as Tannehill changed out of a uniform that could forgo the typical bleaching, the signal-caller could only shake his head and smile.

"Are you kidding?" Tannehill said, recalling the apology. "That was like a day off."

The NFL doesnt usually ban players for games for domestic violence pre-Ray Rice leak video.
So 7 games of an NBA season is 7 games more than the NFL used to do.
 
I really feel like the ray rice situation blew up way too big because the media has nothing else to do other than bury a guy. Now don't get me wrong, he brought this on himself. However, it feels like the media is forcing these things and the nfl is just crumbling to the pressure

Rams are the early favorites but I think one of the putrid non-Philly NFC East teams may make a run at it (leaning towards Washington). The Eagles may have that division wrapped up before Thanksgiving.

This isn't the first domestic violence ban in the NFL.

How long was Jason Kidd suspended for beating his wife? I think claiming the NBA "usually" bans players for domestic violence is really overstating their actions.

Yes that's what happens when you get taped punching your fiancee in the face and then acting like you didn't do anything wrong and drag her around.

I forgot about those guys. I figure DAL/WAS/NYG will beat up on each other for a few wins each though and take each other out of the running.

wtf are you talking about? If a player was convicted, that player was suspended.

This is just since 2000 for all arrests (not just domestic violence) in the NFL.

Seems like a pretty stiff punishment for a league that punishes based on The Law given The Law slapped Rice on the wrist.

I don't think Rog is gonna be able to get out of this one. Don't know when it happens, but I think he's gonna have to step down at some point.

There are many convicted domestic abusers in the nfl and NBA that didn't receive indefinite suspensions. Some even received no suspensions at all WTF are YOU talking about?
