With a sandbox game you only really take out what you put in, I went in just for the racing and wouldn't have rated it much higher despite liking and respecting everything that was offered, had the rally expansion been included it would have been a better package for me.
 
Did anyone see the leaked pics of the limited edition Xbox One console that's painted Candy Apple Red Metallic? Like a racecar? Fuuuuck man that's going to move some consoles for racing fans.


Kidding, but fuck me I haven't bought a racing game in 10 years and I think I may just buy this day 1, and I'd probably cave for an LE console painted in automotive metallic finish.
 
I really hope the controls are more arcade than sim-like.

I have big problems with Forza 5 because I just don´t like these sim-heavy racers but really like the controls of the Need for Speed-Series for instance.

Can anyone describe how the difference between e.g. Forza Horizon 1 and Forza 4 was back on the 360 ?

Have already packed away my 360 :-)

But will try the One-Demo on Tuesday and then decide if the controls are OK for me to preorder :-)

They've said it will be a different game inspired by the Xbox One version.
Also fewer cars, no dynamic weather and smaller world.

Other than that it will be twice the world size of the H1 and run at 720p/30fps.

If you want Forza Horizon 2 by the team that crafted Horizon 1 then Xbox One is the place to go.

I can't justify buying an Xbox One just for Horizon 2.

I might do just that..

That trailer has sold me the game a lot better then Driveclub that I've on preorder for months.

Horizon 2 is looking so alive and fresh

I might do that too. I loved the first Horizon - probably my favorite racing game of all time - and while I own a PS4, I'm not that into standard track racing (Driveclub). And I need my racing game fix.

I just read this argument for every x1 exclusive and find it a bit odd - it´s not that this is the only game that will ever release on that system.

There will be plenty of games I'd buy for it if I were to get one, but I personally see a lot more value in getting a PS4 down the line.

I'll be waiting a year before I make a choice either way, but I just simply want that Horizon goodness now*

*even if it's slightly gimped.
 
The only thing stopping me from getting an Xbox One just to play this game is a lack of time to devote to playing it. I have birthday money I could use, but I just know I wouldn't be able to play as often as I'd like. What a shame. :(

Jealous that you still get birthday money.

I wasted about 50 hrs in forza 5 so I think it's time for me to make the jump into the horizon.
Going to be a great fall for us fellow xbox one owners.

Really? Holy crap, that's pure bullshit. The game was amazing all the way through. Even the rally DLC.
Just one more example of why the majority of review sites are completely worthless.

I've been playing the Horizon multiplayer recently so I remember the wheel of fortune every time you level up online.(there is achievements for the 1st 3rd and 5th times you win a car)
Don't remember getting it after 10 street races though.
 
Day and the first season pass i will ever buy.
Fh1 was my favorite car game.

The only thing i am worried about is off-road handling. In every preview players cut turns and there seems to be no change in handling. No slowdown, no bumps to unsettle car balance, no grip loss.
Was this topic ever addressed by devs or press?

I want clean MP races and i am afraid this will make it impossible. SP will not be such big issue since i can make my own rules.

It's the wrong game if you're looking for clean MP races lol. In the end it comes down to the people you play with, and if you're in matchmaking, good luck with that.

I noticed that too in the various gameplay videos. There were a number of times the cars transitioned from pavement to grass/dirt, and there doesn't appear to be any noticeable change in traction. Drifting from dirt to road, there should be a noticeable 'grip' of the vehicle once it hits the lane, which I didn't see. I'd be interested to see if they addressed this.

Ugh...I got Diablo 3 as my free game, but I'm promising myself to not start up until I beat the story missions for Destiny (which has been a challenge)
 
cant believe the demo hits in a couple days. awesome! shame my wife is hanging onto my thrustmaster wheel till christmas. i guess when i open that it will reinvigorate my playing of horizon 2 and even fm5 though
 
They'd have a customer more had MS not soured me on the whole Xbox One experience. I 100%ed FH1 and this looks pretty awesome. Too bad, I guess.
 
662pts away from tier 4 in forza rewards. If I can't earn that in time, I don't think I can hold off playing but I think the rewards are a one time only thing when you first play Fh2?

I didn't know they were giving cars for your reward level, neat.

I'm level 6 already, but don't even have half the F5 points yet.
 
I still don't know if I want to get this physical or digital.

I can get the physical game for under $60 with a coupon and it'll come with whatever preorder bonus. But I kind of want to have this digital since the xbox one is really neat with how you can swap between stuff and I'll be playing this for a long time. Do digital versions of games come with any preorder stuff?

I think you're mixing up Forza Horizon with Forza 5. And I never got Forza 5. I never had major issues with FH1. My biggest complaint was that the endgame was kind of boring after 100%ing it. It's T10 who fucked up the Forza series for me with their greediness, not Playground.

Something about Horizon being an incomplete game because of some DLC that was announced before the game was released.

Could be wrong of course.

You totally should get Forza 5 and Horizon 2 BTW ;)

I'm pretty sure you confused the games there. FH1 wasn't perfect but it was the most fun I had with a racing game since PGR4 and I was pretty stoked prior to its release because I knew what devs were working on it. Later on I was kind of disappointed by the Rally DLC pack so I just never bought that.

I think I'm done with T10's Forzas. Maybe I'll catch up with FH2 in a few years when I get an Xbox One for cheap. MS lost me this generation.
 
I'm fairly set on waiting for the game to go down in price before I get it, but the upcoming demo and this launch trailer could sway me to get it sooner than that. It just looks fun and robust.
