Is it me, or does it look distinctly different from the gameplay demos we got? It looked great but I doubt that's what we'll be playing.

To me it looks like the same game set up to show its prettiest parts. I think it'll look the same if we happen upon the same conditions, e.g. a bright midday scene will look a bit bland compared to an overcast-y sunset. If we see those conditions in gameplay at the same places I bet it'll look identical.

There are over 5m Xbox ones out there + there is a 360 version of the game. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

The only thing i am worried about is off-road handling. In every preview players cut turns and there seems to be no change in handling. No slowdown, no bumps to unsettle car balance, no grip loss.
Was this topic ever addressed by devs or press?

In FH1 there was a distinct difference in handling between different surfaces, I don't see why they would change it now.

662pts away from tier 4 in forza rewards. If I can't earn that in time, I don't think I can hold off playing but I think the rewards are a one time only thing when you first play Fh2?

I'm pretty sure it's a one time thing. Thankfully, I'm just 67 points behind Tier 4.

I wasted about 50 hrs in forza 5 so I think it's time for me to make the jump into the horizon.
Going to be a great fall for us fellow xbox one owners.

Most people I know up to age 89 still get birthday money. Everyone of all ages in my family and my GFs family certainly does. I plan on using some of my Birthday money on FH2. And some will also go to Drive Club.

I loved it, but I'd still rank a few things above it.

Test Drive Unlimited was super impressive, especially for a 2006 title. The handling wasn't quite right and they had a lower budget, but racing around on Oahu with seamless online was fun.

PGR4 still looks gorgeous.

It's my favorite racing game of all time. Bar none. It was a mixture of fun racing elements with the kind of 'driving' game I always wanted where exploring can be both peaceful and frantic depending on how you're feeling.

I'm stuck in a similar situation though I already have a PS4. I have no problem buying a Xbox One if there's enough games that interest me, but right now it's just Forza Horizon 2, and it's very hard to justify an entire system over one game. Even if it's one of my favorite game series of all time that I know I'll spend hours upon hours with. I know I won't buy multi-plat games on it either.

Still, I know I'll end up buying one just for Horizon 2 to play with gaf because no one else is even trying to make these style of open world racers anymore. And the few that are have nowhere near the quality of the Forza Horizon brand.

Yeah, this is worthy of a digital purchase...when can we preload? I am excited to hear how this sounds on my surround sound, especially when it rains. Will there be lightning? How about other weather effects like snow or high wind gusts?

i watched this trailer so many times, i fucking want an x1.

unbelievable good. i loved the first horizon game, but there were some bad points about the game:
-orange filter
-D L FUCKING C (too many, too expensive and there was never a GOTY)
-cars not custumizable
-if you select a car, and you want a specific class, you couldnt upgrade or downgrade at specific times, that sucked hard too.
-you couldnt buy cars at any time (you could do so much shit in this game, why not buying cars on the fly, at least sometimes it was not available)
-difficulty was weird (sometimes super easy, sometimes just piss ass hard)

i think horizon was pretty much the racer i played the most last gen... but i wouldve loved to have 60fps. i didnt like the floaty feeling of horizon (sometimes it came up that feeling, hard to describe)

There is plenty of gameplay footage that looks great! Plus the game looks like fun which trumps graphics IMO. It has to look better than the original which was fantastic.
