Will it be another Motorstorm game or given (IIRC) the absorption of some members from Studio Liverpool, will we see a Wipeout game?
While I still have yet to play Apocalypse, Pacific Rift for me remains the pinnacle of the series; a sublime game well balanced categories of vehicles, memorable track design, atmosphere and locales. I enjoyed the game for a long time with my friends courtesy of couch co-op . Unfortunately, Apocalypse's sales was marred by its release at the most unfortunate time. While it is in no way indicative of the quality of the game itself, it does make me wonder if Sony will invest further into the franchise.
And then we have Wipeout HD, a series that has seen release on all PS platform save PS4. I only ever played Wipeout HD and unlike MS, this game had its hooks in me on multiple fronts especially the Zone mode (I still have to get Zone Zeus... argh). Its track design philosophy is more in line with DC and with ever increasing appetite for digital downloads, another Wipeout title can simply retread the distribution mechanism of its predecessor on previous home console manufacturing prices down.
In an ideal world Evolution Studios would be split in two groups with one being dedicated to each of the aforementioned projects. The question is whether we'll see either one at all and even then which possesses the higher likelihood of being developed first.
What say you GAF?
