Final Fantasy Type-0 HD coming on March 17 2015. Download code for FFXV demo included

How does Kagari know things that no one else does?
She doesn't, really... She has some loose connections and that's about it. I have a feeling that she pretended to know about this beforehand when she really didn't. Oh well. I visit Novacrystallis multiple times a day so I'm fine with what she does. Great site.

After all this these years, do you still have absolute faith in Nomura and his vision for the game? Do you really think that he has firm control over the project and that the only reason the game has taken so long is because of resource allocation issues within Square Enix beyond his control? Is he faultless? Will he see the project through to the end and deliver on all the promises he made in interviews?

As much as I want it to be everything Nomura's promised and more, the parallels to the FFXIII development saga are too eerie. Even 2013's trailer gives me a bit of the 2006 FFXIII reveal vibe. Like... maybe... this is just what they hope the gameplay is like...

Please. She doesn't have to pretend to know anything. There's nothing to be gained from lying to people.

You calling her a liar?

I bought a PS3 back in the days for 4 titles:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
The Last Guardian
Kingdom Hearts 3

...
Good thing I'm a huge MGS fanboy :)

Minus TLG and KH3, this was me in 2008. I thought I'd play Versus in 2009 :lol

I knew nothing about the industry back then.

So FFXV demo will be almost exclusively digital right ?

None of the disks whatsoever will have the demo or is this simply undecided as of yet ? Voucher set in stone ?

I was thinking about the digital version of type-0 too, I hope the demo is not exclusive to the physical version.

She's the only one who consistently either tells us to prepare for disappointment or teases us when something good is happening. She's one of the few insiders I fully "trust" because she's completely forthcoming and says "I don't know" when she actually doesn't know, and is very transparent when she's simply speculating

Well, another reason it's taking this long is obviously that the game is simply a huge project and with the shift to PS4Bone that delays its completion even more since they aren't just going to ignore the possibilities that opens up. They are trying to incorporate some Uncharted-level (interactive) cinematic scenes into a big open-ish JRPG. That doesn't magically appear from Nomura's ass but will have to be the result of a lot of hard work. Xenoblade Chronicles X has also taken (almost) 5 years since its (spiritual) predecessor by the time it's released and I don't think that game has seen some huge development hell to happen. It's just a freaking huge game (the world alone is, what, 5x that of the original Xenoblade's size and they've upped the ante with flyable mechs and everything), much like I believe that in addition to all the other crap delaying FFXV's production, one simple reason why it's taking this long even (somewhat) past those problems is that they aren't making any compromises (they did a lot of those with FFXIII and XIV 1.0 and those were met with much hate, I'm hoping they've learned from that) and the game is simply such a big project that it's not going to be made in a little over 2 years like some Uncharted game.

But sure, I do have faith in Nomura and his vision. Based on the E3 2013 trailer, his vision has held strong all these years. The E3 2013 trailers pretty much look EXACTLY as I imagined the game to look back in 2006/2007 when we heard Nomura first talk about the game. The combat has exactly the kind of verticality & versatility that he promised long ago, going from street level to high up in the air and from melee focused combat to a 3rd person shooter in just a matter of seconds, with a big modern-ish day world to explore and a story with themes of friendship, war, politics & all that mixed into it. The scope has maybe grown and there has been some changes (world map was chaged for a more FFXII like overworld, changes in how they handle some of the story events/dialogue/storytelling in the game), but I do believe that this will be the game that Nomura largely envisioned all those years ago made without too much hurry or worry about deadlines.

Of course Nomura was basically forced to start working on KHIII before XV was done unlike originally planned when catastrophe hadn't struck SQEX, which has likely been a bit of a problem for Nomura, but luckily he has a good co-director with Tabata so he can at times focus on KHIII without FFXV suffering too much of it.

Aaaaaand here comes the thread derailment.

Let me make an attempt to get it back on track:

Now that the demo is supposed to be a real thing next year, who here believes FFVX will make a 2015 release date somewhere in the world? I personally think it'll be released world wide throughout 2016 considering there's no word when in 2015 the demo will release. Anyone think it'll be later than 2016?

I don't know exact release plans for it.

I am sure they are still considering it themselves.

I was thinking about the digital version of type-0 too, I hope the demo is not exclusive to the physical version.

Actually I meant that the the demo itself will be digital regardless if you bought the game digital or physically i.e none of the Type-0 disk will have the demo on them as you need to get a code to download it.

No, I think 2016 is when it will be released. I still think it will release holiday 2015 in Japan and early 2016 everywhere else.

If they're already talking about releasing a playable demo and have a set date for Type-0 HD in NA, I think we might be getting a release window after TGS starts. I predict late 2015 release for Japan.

Let's assume for argument's sake that Nomura is the most competent, efficient, and visionary director in the industry (not my own opinion). I still think he would be unable to prevent the (apparently) widespread mismanagement and development-process issues that seem to be the norm at SE.

Sure, the ideas are great, but SE has not done a lot to inspire confidence. FFXV could just be another pretty looking turd when it releases. I really hope not, but let's be honest, it's very much a possibility.

Zelda doesn't even have a title. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

True, I guess. Why do you have to bring me down? :(

But Nintendo wouldn't lie about Zelda not releasing in 2015, RIGHT?! Oh wait, they said Xenoblade X was supposed to release in 2014 originally... sigh.
