Wow. Way to be a dick
I can't think of a better word for someone who does the "I could post this but I won't because the masses can't handle my unique opinion" thing.

Ahahah what the fuck is even happening anymore? Just...dang, man.
It shouldn't. Nobody's going to assume these assholes represent every man who's ever touched a controller. Crazy assholes are just crazy assholes.
Because anti-Anita folk accused her of falsifying her reports of contacting authorities in August after a member of the San Fran Police Dept. said they never had a record or report of her calling/filing a report about being threatened.
The association is there. You don't see bomb threats when a woman receives an award for novelists, but you do for games.
Outsiders have to wonder, what the fuck is wrong with games? What's wrong with the games industry? What's wrong with gamers?
'Crazy' implies that the person behind this bomb threat is acting abnormally
This is normal
Or maybe I've seen other GAFfers get eaten alive for even faintly questioning Anita and I'd rather not get pulled into that? Still, I don't reason for you to be a dick about it.
No one is above question or reproach but what is there even to be suspicious of here?
edit: Yes your original post was pretty dickish and labeled everyone as a hive mind.
"Game characters should represent women well."
-receives threats-
"Told you so!"
???????

When I read this, I'm wondering:
"When did videogames became more than games made for fun ?"
You think a bomb threat is normal? Acceptable behavior? Nobody on any side of any issue is giving the guy who sent the threat a pat on the back. Not Gamergate, not /v/, nobody. The threat was not indicative of anybody or anything in my eyes.'Crazy' implies that the person behind this bomb threat is acting abnormally
This is normal
"This Person." Literally ONE person. Not a leader of a group of misogynistic rapists and murderers. One psychopath who takes things too seriously does not mean that anybody who criticizes Anita is a terrorist. Can we stop skirting around the fact that these people are legitimately terrorists now?
Ehhh, there was that guy who shot Reagan because a movie told him to but nobody blamed moviegoers (I think?)
I'd like to think people on the outside of all this have better sense than to wonder "what's up with those game playing folks" because a few messed up individuals made bomb threats or intimidated an industry critic for being a woman.
I mean, I'd LIKE to think that.
I uh...don't follow you. What's normal?

She has a hella lot of followers with religious levels of devotion, and game journalists subscribe to her views as gospel as well. Kotaku and friends have a lot of influence on what games get popular and well-known, so if Anita doesn't like a game, that's basically a death sentence. She kind of has some power.
At the very least, reviews will include a paragraph about misogyny, and scores will he knocked down a point or two.

If you don't like what she has to say then just ignore her. It's not like she's got control of anything . . . she's just expressing an opinion.
Who was "these people" referring to? I'll tell you: Nobody, in both specific and general terms, but the dude who made the threat. No one said that anyone who criticizes Anita is a terrorist.

It's normal in this industry. And it's the saddest thing.
Coming from my perspective with depression I see things differently than most. A person who is angry may get mislabeled as passionate and just normal and a threat may seem like it's gone a "tad" overboard but you know, still "normal" real or fake. Depression mostly gets you snarky remarks or a slap in the face to "snap out of it" and "get better"

It's referring to any number of people that have made death threats against her. You do know that this bomb threat hasn't been the only thing she has received, right?Who was "these people" referring to? I'll tell you: Nobody, in both specific and general terms, but the dude who made the threat.
Makes me embarrassed to be a male associated with this industry.
I guess I get it now but uh did I fall asleep and miss the part where bomb threats at award shows became normal for the gaming industry?
Uh. A critic of gaming at a gaming convention, a threat wanting her gaming related award rescinded. And it's a stretch to assume they're a gamer?

At what point do the FBI get involved with a pattern of death threats culminating in bomb threats?
What the fuck is wrong with these people?
I think you have an incredibly skewed view of how much power and influence Anita Sarkeesian holds.

What the flying fuck. Seriously this is insane. If you disagree with someone why can't you just have a civil discussion with their followers. Hell, go ahead and have a heated debate if you need, but a bomb threat and death threats? I have no words, what an embarrassment to our community.
You're insane if you actually believe this. She has a hella lot of followers with religious levels of devotion, and game journalists subscribe to her views as gospel as well. Do people actually believe this? It's the same stuff with Zoe Quinn, that she apparently had some amazing control over people which is just silly.
