This is pure speculation: I believe he'll join your party after the deal goes sour. He's the head of the military corp I believe so I don't see him hanging out with Noctis in the very beginning (judging from the trailer the team is on their way to main kingdom for the deal that is gonna commence).

I'm not sure how to feel about this trailer, looks like JPop boy band dropped in Xenoblade X with very slow KH combat.
Graphics look amazing with the exception of some bad aliasing in some parts.
I understand the complaints about the character designs, it's by far the worst of any mainline FF. I loved all FF character designs, even the "wacky" ones like IX and X. They always looked like they belonged in their respective game world and fit the general art direction of the game, these look out of place in the game. They really look like a JPop or KPop boy band dropped in a different universe, Noctis is by far the worst and he's the main character unfortunately. The blonde guy is the only one I like. The girl looks creepy, too much Anime eye going on in an otherwise realistic character model.

Can't get over how good some parts look!
Holy shit that background looks bad, the ground texture isn't even the same green as the actual grass. The rocks need a lot of work too.
The game has plenty of time for polish though.

So it looks like Luminious Engine is all up and working well with this game. Hopefully the production pipeline for this is solid enough for future FF titles!

Since he's more of a "guardian" type of character, he's probably only important to the plot in some cases. The four of them are the main party, I assume, but maybe he'll come in as an additional party member.Where's the guy on the right?

I want to believe, but I'm not sure if I can trust the phrase "packaged with" yet. It could still be fancy wording for "voucher code included". I need confirmation of on disc or commitment to March 17th.
I wouldn't mind them releasing the game with JP voices and ENG subs ,but i imagine they will or have started the english voicing process.

No it isn't, the color in the background is the texture under the grass and you can clearly see that the LOD system stops the grass around there. The texture under the grass should be the same shade of green.

FFXV fall 2015 in JP is now a possibility.
While a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy, am I the only one being disappointed with this trailer? We don't know much about the game, but that whole "teleport" thing looks like a whole mess to me... anyone care to explain in case I missed something? Even the battle system looks like won't be anything too good due to the fact you still have to move over different commands in a kind-of menu... while the game is an ACTION game and you WON'T have the time to actually move through all of the menus just to get to an action...
I don't know, maybe I'm looking at things from a different angle... I was as excited as you guys where when the game was first announced at E3, but since then I've been wondering about many of the things that aren't still explained, and I can't find a reason as why Final Fantasy XV would be ANY good as of now...

I remain a little skeptical. Considering the original information was a download voucher was packaged with Type-0, not the demo itself, (which the article does go on to say later on, update aside) it seems like it could be a simple, honest mistake.
If Square Enix themselves announce it, I'll shut up.

The battle system has already been proven with KH. It's also not an action game, it's a JRPG with real time combat.
