No card currently on the market is going to save you from shitty Ubisoft ports. Don't try to make a decision based around them it will only end in tears.

Just ordered my 980 and 16GB memory kit with delivery before 12pm tomorrow. I am excited!

Cost a whopping £590 in total. A bit more than I was hoping to spend today (was kind of hoping it would come in closer to £500) but at least I got a decent brand in EVGA. I normally only upgrade every few years at most but I'm rocking a 650 and its killing me. Roll on tomorrow

The thing is that, as I want to in a couple of months get my hands on a LG 34 UM95P with a native res of 3440 x 1440, will the difference between going to a 970 or a 980 be too big? Or should I begin to make up my mind and join team SLI? And in that case, what should I do?

Yeah, I was limiting myself to high in order to be able to add some AA, but some of the benchs in the OP make a nice case of Ultra Watch Dogs with no AA. Not sure of the end visual result but yeah, it's a possibility.

It's not a huge increase so it depends on how much you're going to spend. If it's 100 or less I'd do it. Another incentive is the lower power consumption = higher overclock ceiling.

Good thing about looking at some of these reviews is that they're test beds are 1440K rez. I don't plan on pushing past 1080p for a good while yet, so man, I might just be able to get dream setup of 1080p/High Settings (Not Ultra or Max)/60fps

You need SLI 970s to drive that thing. No ifs or buts, a single card isn't going to be enough.

I wonder if any other 970s will be released with the Titan-style reference cooler, beside Nvdia. From looking at some links EVGA's blower-style 970 for example uses a different cooler, and I remember the previous models had benefits using the Titan-style cooler in terms of noise and temps.

Hmm, I think I'll just stick with my Classified. Having a hard time also accepting in trading in that sexy beast that is the Classified 780 Ti for a vanilla 980. Was planning on upgrading anyway when the die shrinks hit in.

The $339 is the version I'm getting. It's clocked higher with a higher boost than the $329 version. 1165 base/1317 boost for $339 vs 1150 base/1178 boost for $329.

Even an oc'd 970 is often abovie the 780Ti.

In absolute terms? Yes but they shouldn't be very far apart if you're 680 isn't overclocked.
