They need to increase the marks you get on pvp. Kinda crazy you have to do 34 matches assuming you win them all to reach max marks. It only takes 17~ tiger strikes to max vanguard

I read somewhere that you get a 20% penalty to damage done when you attack anything one level higher than you and that it's cumulative (hence certain difficulty settings being 'impossible' - as you wouldn't be able to do any damage). It seems about right to me.

Has anyone here done the weekly heroic at level 28 as a level 26? What about the Nightfall as a level 26? I'm assuming you need to be a pretty well co-ordinated team. How did you do it? I'm quite keen on taking them on later.

For control I think they are pretty damn good. Depends on how you spec the shield. Weapon or Armor of Light can make a difference, and dropping a shield on a cap point as an enemy warlock is about to nova bomb your team is amazing. Love seeing that Blast Shield medal pop up.

For standard deathmatch types, Striker isn't bad either. The shoulder charge has some crazy distance, although I'm still not a huge fan of Fist of Havoc, it's certainly viable. I honestly prefer the Defender still. Disintegrate is a bonus and added with War Machine makes you pretty tough to take down. I'd say the Titan is more than viable. All 3 classes have their perks.

Titans are very strong in pvp.

Striker has shoulder charge which is a one hit kill, and Fist of Havoc can take out multiple enemies at once. Gear for clearing control points or destroying vehicles.

Defender is even better imo. Ward with the extra shield buff makes you and your team incredibly hard to kill, the sticky nade is very easy to hit with, and the punch that recharges your overshield means you can survive during a brawl with multiple enemies.

You should stick with it.
 
For the first time I'm starting to feel a little bit of RNG hate in this game. Been playing 90% of the time with my brother and he's found 2 Legendaries and 1 Exotic in the same time as I've found zero of each.

At least I'm nearly Vanguard 2 so I can buy a Legendary piece of my own but damn, RNG needs to smile upon me soon.

Before that they need to fix the amount of rep you get from strike playlist. A five minute patrol mission giving you the exact same amount of rep as a level 24 strike is ridiculous.

But that's spread out over the course of a full week until they reset again. It's not like you have to hurry and get and max the marks in one day.
 
Potentially stupid question, will Xur's stock change at all this weekend?? I know he had the same items all last weekend but I figured I'd ask before I go for the chest armour as I really wanted that Hunter helm.

It all sounds good until you die in 0.4 seconds to an auto rifle.

No way, I felt between loading screens and lobbies getting crucible rep and marks a more pain in the ass task than doing the strikes.

not a bad idea, they should for both.
 
Hit level 23 this morning, have enough Vanguard points for my first legendary, and I'm almost at Vanguard rank 2. Loving it. Going to probably spend some time today gathering crucible points. If anyone is up for some strikes or some shit add me PSN Fixed, I should be back on in another hour or so.

I just want to make sure of something, the only place to actually to spend Vanguard points on armor is with your class guy right? I'm not a huge fan of any of the bonuses on the gear he has in stock...
 
I don't really have a problem with how you get marks but getting rep is pretty annoying. I'm still only halfway through Rank 1 for Vanguard and I've played about 30 hours.
