Is Gravity Rush 2 having development problems?

I was shocked to see it didn't show during TGS. What gives? Supposedly the game moved over to PS4, but another teaser would have been cool.

Into the bin like The Last Guardian? lol.

I can't imagine it being the most profitable IP on the Vita so I don't know what their plan is. They've already stopped all first party efforts on Vita so there's no chance of it being an exclusive. The only question is which platform it's going to, and whether Sony thinks it's a good idea at all to make a sequel to a fairly obscure game.

Don't we know literally nothing but a teaser trailer? There's no way to know even how far into dev it is or when it started, I don't think there's any possible way to assume development problems.

When did they do that?

They didn't. They actually never announced it at all. Showing a teaser on the show floor of a trade show is not an announcement or confirmation of anything, technically.

It's the same thing as Beyond Good & Evil 2. People say Ubisoft "announced" that in 2008, but there's no press release on record that proves that.

Neither company is obligated to deliver either game.

The trailer from TGS 2013 was clearly on the Vita. If they did move it from the Vita to the PS4, or even start on a PS4 version to go along with the Vita version, then that's likely pushed development back as they make improvements for that version.

probably nothing wrong with it. I remember people were saying that Bloodborne was suppose to be revealed last year at TGS. Maybe this will show up at GDC or E3.

Yeah I hear they cancelled it. Seems like Toyama wants to make a pantsu VR game instead so they scrapped GR2.

Tough luck guys.

Doubt it. Pretty obvious they're shifting development to PS4. Why is everyone acting like it's been in development for a very long time? Does GAF hyperbole know no bounds?

Not exactly the same thing as BG&E was a CG trailer and GR2 seemed more like to have been done with in-game footage.

This is actually the only game I'm keeping my Vita for, so they better announce if they switched to PS4 sooner than later. The money for the Vita would instantly go to my PS4 money jar.

I think they are re-building the game to be a PS4 game. At this point.....Sony is fully done with the Vita from first party support, so...in order to make the PS4 more attractive to JP users, they will make it PS4 exclusive to not only push sales for it but to fully use the PS4 hardware for the game.

The reason it wasn't shown off at the recent events (E3 2014, Pre-TGS Show and TGS) was likely due to them really re-building the game to look graphically impressive on PS4 (basically, what Square is doing with Type-0 I think :l). By early next year, things should be done in that department and by E3, a proper announcement can be shown off on PS4 :).

If it is still a Vita game, it will be cross-platform with PS4 (PS Vita as the base platform, it being cheaper to produce due to it being made for Vita and the PS4 won't be that much work to get done due to its great art style, a huge resolution bump and 60FPS).

Either way it still is coming....just will take a little bit longer then we all expect I think...

Toyama has also repeatedly stated on Twitter that the development and the team for GR are just fine when he's been asked about its status or their status.

Can you use the other "Wow it has only been 1 year since this project was sort of announced, is it in trouble?" thread?

There's no way it's Vita exclusive anymore. Sony stopped all first party development on the machine.
