Why are you people still plaing this game????
Have you not heard it? IT IS TERRIBLE! Stop playing it, it is no fun.

Can't wait to get home and continue playing. LV 22 and by far not worn on the game out yet!

I haven't been following GAF lately. What's the general opinion now after the hype? Despite the game having some issues, I'm totally hooked.

Is there a more fun way to farm materials like Spinmetals? I need Spinmetals to upgrade most of my exotics/legendaries and I would get bored to death running around farming chests.

I realised how bad it was for me during the beta and I vowed I wouldn't play it but I may have to now because of an exotic bounty :(

Yeah, I figured "I still have some bounties I can do, why not." Haven't ever received an exotic bounty, though.

Honestly, I think I'm about through with the game. I could reroll with a Warlock or a Hunter, but I'm starting to feel a bit burned out by the grind.

The common complaints are that it's lacking content, and story, and the mission design is repetitive. There's more to it than that, but if you're having fun with it then I wouldn't worry about what other people think.

Wait around and do some events. They drop ascendent materials and you'll need lots of those as well.

It really gets repetitive after a while, the story is pretty much non-existant and I'm not a fan of bullet-sponge bosses. Despite all this, I can't stop playing lol.

Am I playing this game right? I've put in a little over 22hrs so far and I'm just about to hit level 23 but I haven't had a single legendary item yet. Admittedly I haven't spent much time in the Crucible, but I've completed the story, done all of the regular strikes and a couple of the higher level ones and spent several hours doing Patrol - including at least 2 hours at the supposed cave of wonder (though this wasn't 2 hours continuously, the most time I can spend farming in one place is about 40 minutes, after that I just get too bored).

Am I just unlucky or is there something I could be doing to improve my chances of better loot drops?

How much Vanguard reputation and marks do you have?

Why is there no kick option for afk twats? This guy's been in the last four of my games backpacking off of my team's effort. He's obviously there as he hasn't been kicked for inactivity.

This thing would murder in PvP... be like 30 feet away then BOOM, shotgun death.
I'd be like "u wot m8?" if I was the dead guy... "how did he shotgun me from there?".

TL;DR - I'm jealous of your weapon :)

Yeh I was thinking that, but I was getting owned in crucible. But I was on Skirmish, i should try it out on smaller maps and level it up a little.

Is there any point in doing strikes as higher level versions on the playlist. Like, I've done couple of 24 strikes and the bullet spongy bosses sap my will to live. Would they go much faster as 20 versions or not? I haven't seen any good loot on the 24 ones anyway.

if you impress Master Rahool with your dance moves and catch him in a good mood, every 0.052509 blue engrams you bring him will turn purple.

oh, and be sure to crouch and look down. it's disrespectful to look him in the eye

Ugh, no. The game decides to kick me twelve times again for no discernible reason. Gonna check out today's bounties and then I'm done for a while. Gonna work on my backlog a bit.

24 Strikes are fast when you are 24+ with legendary weapons. Until then I recommend a lower level strike or farm engrams until you get some good guns.

The super pro, guaranteed method of wrecking Atheon as fast as possible.

What you need: A Defender Titan specced into Weapons of Light with the Weapons of Light bonus talent.

The entire strategy is thus, the Defender drops WoL bubble on the gate exit the portal team is coming out from. The whole raid gets the buff.

The Relic holder jumps down to the CENTER platform and activates and HOLDS the shield up. Everyone else piles in. Proceed to unload on the boss with perfect line of sight, Weapons of Light + Time's Vengeance active. Kick his ass until 3 seconds remain.

At 3 seconds, Defender activates bubble again, everyone scatters, portal team to back of room, outer team to sides.

One player in the bubble can deal with any remaining Supplicants, they cannot get to the middle platform.

Rinse, repeat, Atheon dies fast.

Tips and warnings:

Atheon's attacks cannot penetrate the bubble, but his SPLASH damage can, for whatever reason. Don't stand next to the little pillar on the center platform, or too close to the edges, his splash can kill you.

If you go into the green/Venus/right side portal, when you come out, the center platform is to your RIGHT.

If you go into the red/Mars/left side portal, when you come out, the center platform is to your LEFT.

It's important that the Relic user gets out and runs over to the middle platform asap.

Done right, you should get a good 20s of completely safe burn, with almost full duration Weapons of Light buff in there.

It's helpful to have one extra Titan just in case the designated bubble dude goes down, it isn't necessary to have that extra bubble at the end, but it makes evacuating a hell of a lot safer.

If you do NOT have a Titan up, have everyone jump out at 6 or 5s remaining rather than 3, so the Relic holder can keep the shield up and then jump off last. If the shield drops and there's no bubble in place, you can wipe the entire raid from Atheon's bombardment.

As the Relic holder, I preferred to stay at the back of the platform, facing the back of the room. That gave everyone maximum room to shoot without me in front, and let me do a simple hop forward to get to the back of the room once evac is called at 3s.

If you're having any trouble on the portal side of things, remember to have both non-relic players throw grenades (and throw the right grenades, some are useless here), and take a few potshots at the adds to give the relic user time to get down there and smash them.

The first portal is the hardest, every portal after your companions will have supers up and can easily execute the adds with havoc/void bomb or radiance/golden gun.

I generally prefer to keep Sunsinger Warlocks as part of the outer defense alongside the Defender, that way they can self res easily if anything goes awry with supplicants.

But that's all extra, the tldr: Use Defender's Weapons of Light and Relic Invuln shield to pound Atheon from the center platform, win

And once I'm done with that, it's back to teaching the pups how to play PVP.

Ugh I'm so close to rank two Crucible so I can get a pair of legendary helmets, but just the thought of having to enter the awful PVP is making my stomach turn.

It's pretty fun as long as you don't get First Light.

I think I still prefer Halo MP from any of the Halo titles before 4 but this is still fun.

-raid strategy-

interesting strat. the group i ran with earlier had a good rhythm down but we couldn't kill atheon fast enough. by the time we got him down to low health, it'd start glitching on us.

hopefully the game is kinder tomorrow and we can try this start out. do you suppose gunslingers are useful in this phase?

yea my love for PvP has gone downhill recently. rumble especially is a mess right now unless you're playing one of the larger maps. skirmish and control can be nice with full teams though (unless it's one of those maps that must not be named).

I'm actually pretty sure you'll do more damage with your normal weaponry with times vengeance + weapons of light active, I could be wrong. Easy enough to test in-game, but I think the animation time loss means you'll get more from just hammering away with heavy/special/primary weapons.

Having one Gunslinger along in the portal is a great help though, he doesn't have to go down like a Striker titan to smash the adds, and in a pinch he can GG to take down oracles if there's any problems.

It'd be more fun if hit registration and tick rate was at an acceptable level. Killing someone with melee and then somehow dying from a shotgun 2 seconds later before the game decides to "kill" them is shocking.

Same with getting killed. No idea how I can shoot people after I should be dead before the game realises I am dead.

Or when you kill someone, get the "kill" noise, then they still flail about for 5 seconds (not an exaggeration) and THEN the game registers a kill in the UI.

Hit registration, similarly, is a complete unpredictable mess. Hits should register the millisecond they connect, not a moment later.

Those are my basic issues with PVP. I'm sure with that fixed up it'd be great, but I don't have much hope. It was the same in the alpha/beta. :(

I want to try this. The only thing i'm worried about is the splash damage.

A level 28 shield bearer can easily one shot the mobs except the pratorean. That ususally takes 1 aoe and 3 R2 hits.

The splash damage is a non issue, it'll only kill anyone if they hug the pillar or the edge. I think we had maybe two deaths from it during our attempts.

maybe that was the problem. gunslinger was good for harpies and oracles but useless on the boss. i was debating switching to a sniper, but i kept a fusion rifle in place for lingering minotaurs and oracles.

the kill delay is one of my biggest issues as well (the automatic doors even lag too), and the audio glitch is also still there. they're the kind of glitches i expect to be fixed after two public tests.
