Anyone have any tips for sunsinger in pvp? Not sure which talents to take, I like the sticky grenade and the bolt grenade, I also like the aerial hover, but two grenades seems too strong to pass up.

I always take flame shield in control mode plus lowered damage when my super is active. You can straight up wreck stuff if you can start killing with your super active and then come out with a flame shield active.

Yeah, at the end of the day it just becomes a portable piece of cover -- nothing more. What's the point if you have to step outside to shoot guys (getting damaged in the process)?

the upgrade to gain an overshield is sweet.

also jumping out of the dome and firing off rockets and coming back in is helpful.

Lol. I didn't get my first legendaries until 40 hours played and only when I was stuck at level 24 for days. Technically they were exotics, the real legendary drops/decryptions only happened to me first time after 50 hours. Cry moar.
Sounds like me.

I've probably turned in 100+ blues, not one turning into a legendary.

Have turned in probably 25 legendaries, 3 staying legendary, none turning exotic. Of those, two were shotguns, so, waste.

I actually, statistically, may have the record for worst luck with the cryptarch out of all destiny players in the entire world. My last 2 cryptarch level ups have yielded all blue engrams from the purple gift package, which of course decrypted into blues and greens only.

It comes down to range. If you're engaging an AR inside your motion tracker ring, you're probably too close for a HC, and you're absolutely too close for a scout or pulse.

At those distances, get out the fusion rifle to kill them, there's a sweet spot where you can murder any AR user.

You want to be at a distance where they miss enough headshots that you can reliably score the kill with only a single headshot, if you aren't, you're probably too close.

ARs rule in pvp for the same reasons shotguns are popular, there's a shitload of newbies who are overly aggressive and don't read the motion tracker, they're pretty easy to use, and ARs are the short range primary of choice.

Yup, this is why I have Pocket Infinity, and chest armor that gives me full sticky grenade energy every time I respawn. Fight cheapness with cheapness.

I don't think people are complaining about the loot drops while cave farming. It's definite luck involved. I'm personally complaining because I think there is more than pure luck involved in drops during the crucible since I've only ever seen the worst players get the good stuff. That in my mind is worth complaining about.

Also rather than the randomness of the loot drops themselves, the part is complaint worthy is Rahool. A legendary engram which are already extremely rare and pretty hard to get should not give blues. It doesn't matter how you get them, but such a rare drop shouldn't produce such sucky results.

Personally I am a bit biased because I am slightly bitter that most of the people I play with always seem to get better stuff via 'luck' while I've had to play way more and buy my stuff.

Worst player in Crucible here. I never get shit. Sounds like you're suffering from confirmation bias and a small sample size.

I know this doesn't do anything but I have had blues turn into legendaries twice and both times it was when I was turning in like 5+ engrams at a time and I just mashed the button as fast as possible.

lol

I just turned in 50 Blooms for rep.

It gave me +31 rep, but I have "Radiant Light" buff from Nightfall strike and I think it affects that too. Without buff I would guess 10 to 15 / 50 material.

How do you know where to find the blooms? They seem to be hard to find and somewhat random for me...

I love the crucible but I too get such sporadic results. I don't know if its lag on my side one match and then against me the next but I'll go from a .3 KDR to a 6.33 KDR from one match to the next. Or maybe it's just the competition changing each match. People don't seem to stay in lobbies too long. After each match it drops down to like 5 or 6 people and we have to wait for it to find 12 again.

Can't play Crucible.

Nothing registers for about 1-2 seconds. No matter what I try with my connection I can't seem to fix it.

I occasionally get a solid connect, those times I get around 3-5 k/d. With the delay I get in the majority of games I'm say at sub 1 overall.

Trying to just play around for but It's too frustrating. Really wish I could play pvp properly. :(

Any network experts have any ideas please?

My Ip is set to a static dmz. Wired connection. I don't know what else to try. If I don't fix it I'll have to quit pvp for the sake of my sanity.
Its not your connection. Its the game.
Its normal. And it is terrible.

Mother of God.......

I truly don't know the depths of hell like you do good sir. You are a staunch hearted warrior to stick it out.

If I dont get an Exotic or Legendary for another 20 hours.......I will cry. I really just want them so I can actually try out Raids. Bungie needs to release a level 20 Raid soon.

In the end all will be well. Keep your faith in the RNGod and he will reward you.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change your choices between exotic bounties? Got the one with Thorn and Bad Juju, but really I want neither, nor do I want the Invective. Bah.

Can we just talk about how amazing the sound is in this game?

I continue to be awed by the creepy vocalizations of the aliens, the exotic sounds of the alien weapons, the clank of their armor and vehicles...it's just fantastic sound design all around.

That's what the buffs are for.

Well, the buffs also disappear once you step out of the shield (at least the extra shield one does -- haven't unlocked the others yet). So, it's really only useful in PvP/PvE when there's an enemy attacking you within the shield. Otherwise it doesn't do much.

I hit 27 over the weekend and I'm way ahead of my real life friends who play Destiny, and am itching to jump into the Vault of Glass to check out what I'm in for. Is anyone down to try it out with me (PS4)?

I'm a 27 Sunsinger geared up for PvE AOE DPS (I have the Sunbreaker gauntlets for extended solar grenade duration, and am using the extra grenade slot for maximum pyro action).

My stats are here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Legend/2/4611686018430579580/2305843009215469029#gear

If anyone needs someone to fill out their group or wants to get one together, please let me know (reply here/PM/add me in PSN - Leonidas2123)

Sounds like you have bad luck. Which I believe is the crux of the issue of the poster you're replying to.

It's all about positioning. There are ways you can set down your shield where half your body will be inside the shield to gain the bonus, while the other half is free to shoot.

The fully upgraded Monte Carlo is mine! Muahaha.

Ya those two seem like the most obvious choices in their categories. I just can't decide which grenade to pick and whether I want to float like a badass or have two grenades. Probably two grenades. Resurrect seems ok but I'd rather not die in the first place if I can help it.

The other two last outside the shield.

There is a buff that gives you an overshield each time you pass through the bubbleshield. Same goes for the weapon damage one, so you do get buffs while outside the shield of you pass through it.

I just got a blue engram to roll as legendary!

.....but it was for a vanity piece....

.....and it's the one you can just buy from New Monarch....

.....and it's for a Titan, which I don't have....

BTW all these people with high Combat Ratings 150+, what are your classes? I always see Warlocks or Hunters, specially Hunters wrecking everything.

I don't know if it's because I'm not in NA and the game has a high latency to me, but if a Hunter uses its Super and rushes at me even if I hit them at point blank range with my Shotgun they just lose their shield and maul me beyond dust. God damn it.

What is the most efficient way to farm crucible marks?

Probably a stupid question...

ha! I just got a level 20 Shingen-E with stability and crapped myself with glee. Can't wait to use it in crucible tonight.
I don't even bother controlling recoil anymore. I just aim at their head and shoot.

Once I had a game, and it was a gas
Soon turned out there was a vault of glass
Tried to make it in with a party of four
Everybody rage quit before we breached the door

So from the feedback in this thread and watching it in action in PVP, I'm guessing there's really no point in going with the Defender subclass for my Titan? Hesitant to give up my Striker special, and not really interested in dropping a bubble shield to....stay inside of it?

It's shit. Doesn't matter if it is the same or not, no one likes it.

What would you prefer? Top 1 or 2 get an engram everytime? That would be worse IMO Maybe Iron Banner will change things but people would stop playing if they can't crack the top players ever.

I think the way they are doing it now is fine.

Well, I think I might have hit my breaking point last night. Got wiped most of the way through killing Phogoth in the nightfall strike. It just suddenly hit me how pointless it is to keep going. My group of friends can rarely coordinate getting on all at once, let alone consistently do it through a week. Even it we could we'd still be shy of a full raid party. There's just nothing left in this game that I can reasonably see.

I'd be up for trying it tonight as well.

What does the shader look like?

It makes the guardian all white.

I had the same, it sucked but it gets better, I've had 4 Exotics from Engrams in the past 24 hours :L

Speaking of Raids.. I just found out I missed one of the chests just near the start. I might hop into a group and find it in case an Exotic weapon is waiting for me.

RNG loves you. Don't know how you do it.

No the other two last outside the shield.

edit ^^^ its ok if it was only inside yeah It would be more useless.

That bubble and the corresponding buffs have saved my ass and the asses of my teammates on more times than I can count. I'm quite fond of the generating orbs when the shield takes damage buff. :D

So how should I go about choosing a faction to join? Just go by what gear I like at any given moment? Does it really matter?

Just hit 24

I've had 4 legendary drops (farming)

3 Blue
1 Titan chest (I'm a warlock)

Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?

Got 3 more legendary engrams from leveling the Cryptarch and all turned into blue items

fuck..this..game

I'm not clear on what the motivation is supposed to be, even when you grind and finally get a "good" drop chances are it will turn to shit

I so regret buying this digitally now

Which one is that? We only ever found a chest in Gorgon maze. You telling me there's more? There was one outside the vault on the surface of venus but it just gave standard crappy overworld loot.

I really hope that raid armor isn't the only way to get to level 30. I'm hoping iron banner and the queen armor has more light than normal factions. Raid armor doesn't even allow you to create a build of either only str/int or int/dip, you just get stats in random places. Good job Bungie--I really feel like I am making my character the way I want it /s

My handcannon has explosive rounds, disorients the opponent, and 2 headshots and someone is down. Way better than auto in mid-long range. You just have to have skill to use handcannons.

If you don't mind me asking what are your stats

I def want to give handcannons a try
